Well we will just have to wait for Jacob today, and see what cards may be in stock later today. Hopefully something might grab my interest. If not, I'll just continue to wait for a card that does. :)

No 6696 today?

Looking at the 6696 and the 6796 they are identical, exact same spec's. Only difference I see is their price.  The 6796 is a lot cheaper. I just don't understand the price difference.

The difference is that on the 6796 you can choose the color you wan´t.. and for that you need to pay a little more. that´s understandable.

Guess you mis-read my post. :)  I said that the 6796 IS Cheaper!!  Actually also on sale for elite registered members. According to the screen I see. shows 819.00 Where the 6696 lists for 879.00.

So the 6696 and 6796/6797 are the same spec's-wise? The only difference being the colored shroud? I don't know if they have been getting posted like other cards have but this is good to know either way.

You can log on to the Evga site and click on the Compare box on those cards, and then read their spec's.
The 6797 Is NOT the same as the other two, as it has faster memory 12GHz GDDR5X, the other two don't.

Unfortunately not for the near future, the memory supply for that one is very limited.

Yeah if the member version ever comes in stock. That $20 price hike on memory seems to be translating to $80 to the consumer

Yea. Well, looks like neither are being posted today. 6696 hasn't been posted the past few stock-days.

Not worth getting at these prices. They can keep them.

Like I understand the lack of supply is driving down the overall amount of dollars going into the company and raising the per item price seems like a way to bring up earnings but this is setting a precedent none of us are going to support in the long run.

Demand isn't accurate. Lack of supply is making the situation look like something it is not. Last year a shipment of video cards might have been a couple of semi trucks stacked. That's not happening right now. I was having drinks with one of the managers of a local Frys the other night. He said they flat-out can't buy video cards. They can get a few when their distributors have some but it's nothing like last year when they could order all they wanted. Gddr5 production is way down and gddr6 production is up. Not only that but the price on gddr5 went up. Most on the internet are citing a roughly $20 price increase on the average 1080 video card. That of course gets gouged to plus $100 to the consumer or more. The real question is why production was reduced 3 months away from release on the new generation? No one is giving us answers on that question and those who know the answer to it aren't admitting it.

The best deals I have seen lately have been on NewEgg and Amazon about 3 a.m. PST. 1070's for 479. 1080 ti for 829

Both of these prices are still considerably over MSRP
