My monitor is only 3840x1600px so it's about 3/4 of 4K which won't hurt my frame rate any ;-)

Yeh it's less the resolution. Im saying  if you playing a badly optimized game and you happen to have a monitor capable of 144hz. Allot of those games tend to just try to go above that fps taxing the card cause you can't limit it. Only way to do so is by editing the ini for the game or NVAPI.

it has a higher vram clock. This is the one I own and it does have overheating issues. It's also rarer so the stock I doubt will come back anytime soon

Ah, I see, my monitor is max of 75hz refresh at full rez. fine for my level of gaming and then some. Mostly Mechwarror Online, horrible Overwatch player and someday I might even jump into my Star Citizen ship something. I'm 58... and my twitchy mouse skills are a bit geriatric I think compared to these young whopper snappers playing. ;-)

MechWarrior Online is what I play the most and I can assure you that it's not optimized for anything! ;-)
thanks for the tip!

Ah, so maybe puts out a little more with the faster RAM, but the clock is a bit slower than some others so how much faster is it?

It's not worth it tbh.  It's a rarer card and from my experience I already have to RMA it. Other people I've spoken to in my thread have had to RMA it too. I will eventually convert it to hybrid ftw3 kit once I get a working card cause simply put when summer comes along it will get loud

I think I'll also buy what ever simulator that Elon Musk puts out to allow me to go to Mars from the comfort of my own desk... that would be cool.

11G-P4-6797-K2 FTW3 Elite Gaming Black... is it about 5% or 10% faster than the standard FTW3?

I wouldn't say that all these cards are basically the same. Its just that the factory setting is already overclocked by default. It's just enthusiast stuff. The more overclocked the hotter it runs too.

I'm not impressed by everything about him, but come on, he is building rockets that very well look like they will go to mars. And he is the lead designer so it's no slouch. I've successfully launched a few bottle rockets and water rockets so I have some idea of how impressive just that one accomplishment is ;-)

Ahahaha! So, maybe 3%? It looks like spec wise it could be close to 10%.

If you say so from what I've seen he hires intellectuals to do the work for him and takes all the glory hehe.

You can't go wrong with the regular FTW 3 or the  FTW 3 elite. Just go for whatever stock there is if your timing is right to order.

That is genius! I should start doing that! ;-)
Honestly, I don't have a problem with that other than the taking all the glory for their work if he really does that. I hope not. But all the more reason to fly the Musk Sim from my desktop ;-)

What can I do if the nearest Fry's or Microcenter is 500+ miles away? They only sell it in-store pickup.
