im building my first gaming pc in over 25 years, i have a parts list NZXT S340 Intel i7-8700k Asus Maximus Hero X G.Skills Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200 4@8@32 Corsair 100i V2 coole 2 Samsung 860 evo 500 g 2.5 SSD 1 Samsung 960 evo 1T M.2  Still waiting on the Evga 1080 TI FTW3 6696 model Evga Supernova 850 G2 80+ Gold Asus ROG Swift PG27VQ haven't decide on a back up SSD. trying to get a graphics card now is like finding oil in downtown boston at rush hour in a snow storm....

Search "super auto refresh" and install for your browser... let it do all the work for you.

I was kinda on the fence about getting a 6696 (couple other models I would prefer), but you reminded me that there are people waiting just for THAT card, so I'm passing on it. Hope it improves your chances a smidge! I'm literally sitting in a room with 4 generations of EVGA GPUs (8800 GTS, GTX 295, GTX680, and GTX 980Ti), so I can say the wait will definitely be worth it. Good luck!
 
(Also, as one 35yo+ gamer to another, I would strongly recommend doing some half-hearted altcoin mining when you don't need full graphics power. Throttle the mining software back so it doesn't make everything laggy and just leave it running. You don't have to make mining 'your thing' or obsess over it, but the chance of a significant payoff for nearly zero investment (since you have the card anyways) is too good to ignore. And, as I said, I have an EVGA card that's over a decade old and still runs fine, so these puppies last. Mining won't damage the card unless you a) never clean your PC or b) run it at full bore 24/7 with red lined temps.)

im not in to the whole minning i just want play my games make photo albums and enjoy the $4500 pc and enjoy it to the max

I know the feeling thats how i felt when i got the email for the 1080 ti ftw 3 hybrid in stock email, bust out the card in costco and start hitting buttons lol, wife was laughing and so were my 2 small kids. My 2 big boys were rooting for me but still laughing. I will get to laugh when it gets here in a couple hours.
