no drop today

Typically, there aren't drops on Mondays lately.

Its a Dry Dry Day.  As with most things, it could be worse.  I am going to get back to work and not think anymore today about the notifications I won't be getting for a couple more months...only to log in again tomorrow for Groundhog Day.

You guys say 400+ is a bad deal and I would agree if this were 2017 or something. However in todays landscape where even the B-stock 1080 ti at 670$ gets instantly bought out.

1080s go for 450, 1080 tis at 550, 2070S at 800$, Hell a white 3080 Strix goes for close to 2k. Its not that bad of a deal.

Im a small time system builders, clients would shell out 500+ for 3060s without hesistation.

People being willing to buy something at a price and that unit selling out doesn't make it good value. I just think people should be aware of the value they're getting for the money, if they get an opportunity to buy and want to spend $450 or $500 for a 3060 that's their choice.

Around 250 right now. If you put it on Ebay, it'll go slightly higher but you're paying them 15% of the final sale price so its still in that ballpark.

540 USD for a 3060???

That is INSANE.

It shows as $399 to me? Plus 9.99 shipping.

I just clicked on all of them, some were 540, the EVGA were cheaper sorry.
But over 350 is just a bad deal IMHO

Yeah I agree, it was inevitable though...

Your EVGA.com notifies will likely come up sooner (albeit still a LONG time from now), but they won't ship it to Europe from that queue. Your best bet there is to ship it to someone you know in NA who can then ship it to you. EVGA also does not ship to known freight-forwarders either. So I wouldn't recommend getting rid of the NA notifies yet (because like I said, that will probably come up way before your EU notifies), but start looking into if you have any options to ship to in NA. And again, I strongly encourage you to continue to search elsewhere for a card as well considering your position in the queues.

Thanks mate for all the answers! It’s so bad remain without gpu... ;(

A couple of months from now, $540 USD for a 3060 may look insane--or it might look like a bargain that only a fool would have passed up.

What will the supply be in a couple of months???

What will the prices be in a couple of months??

We could all make much better decisions if crystal balls weren't out of stock everywhere.

In the meantime, if you can get a 3060 at $540, is that a better buy than waiting and hoping for one at $329? Depends on how badly you need it now.

Yeah no kidding. I remember when the 3090 was ~$1500 and I was like "NO WAY. That is WAY too expensive for me. I don't need that much performance and I'm more than happy with an $800 3080". Fast forward to five months later and now I'm like "Wish I would have just gotten a 3090.. These $1100 3080s are looking miiiiiighty tasty.."

Noooooooo, Enewt, why would look at that? It's like Shrodinger's GPU, if you don't look at that update, it could potentially not exist and maybe they would have released it if we were in the 50% of universes where they were ready to roll. Now you've locked us into a universe of no-HCs.. </3

Questions:

I've looked at ads for professional cards (Nvidia Quadros and AMD equivalents). None seem to have more than one fan.

Looking at the Founder's Edition cards, the 3090 and 3080 have one fan, while the 3070 and 3060TI have two fans each.

So, the questions are:
1   Is more than one fan needed? and
2.  Do 3 fans make cards any better than 2 fans?

In theory, more fans are better. In theory! Usually that has been the AIB's reason for charging $20-50 more than founders edition: better cooling options with more fans.

That said, Nvidia did a remarkable engineering job on their current founders edition cards. Gamer Nexus does a breakdown of the FE 3000 series cards, and I highly recommend it. The FE 3090 cools much better than s single fan blower design has a right to.

There's a lot of variables here, but the general idea is that more fans provide a greater ability to cool. This means you can run the fans at a lower speed. Lower speed means lower noise and greater lifespan.

Again, lots of variables...

Ouch, worst than seeing your queue crawling to an almost full stop is seeing your target not even being released.

On this side of the pond, 3060's are selling for the original price of a 3070 or 3080. On some forums I have seen EVGA's queue system mentioned a TON of times, which means this new queue will fill even more than others. And once again, the site giving me headaches.

Where did you see 3060 for original 3070 price? Here, 3070 original was as low as 659eur. The 3060, the lowest tier, Palit Dual, is going for 790eur.
As a side, no movement for this day at all.

You looking at seller by newegg.com or from third party?

That's from newegg direct, some of them were $540.  Ridiculous.  Shuffle is always direct from Newegg.  The 3060 eVGA was $330 or so, all the others were $499-$540.  Pretty sad we're at that point right now where $500 for a cheap GPU.

"MSRP" on the cards will be going up again at the end of this month across the board - some AIBs have already put their prices at that level, which is why there's such a pricing disparity right now.  Probably sometime in April eVGA will raise their prices again to match/be near everyone else.
The one eVGA card on the shuffle is $399, btw.  The other ones are overpriced atm, $499-$550

Saw MOSFETS are now going short as well.

March didn't open like a lion or a lamb. March didn't open. The North American Notify Queues were as dry as [feel free to fill in the blank]. No drops today. We go again tomorrow.

As of 3:05 pm PT Monday afternoon, March 1, this is the status of the North American queues (bolded font represents movement from the morning of Monday, March 1; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of movement from the prior report):

"MSRP" on the cards will be going up again at the end of this month across the board - some AIBs have already put their prices at that level, which is why there's such a pricing disparity right now.  Probably sometime in April eVGA will raise their prices again to match/be near everyone else.
The one eVGA card on the shuffle is $399, btw.  The other ones are overpriced atm, $499-$550

Saw MOSFETS are now going short as well.

If it isn't one thing it's another.  Everything has been in short supply at one point or another in the last 6 months in terms of what's required to make them.  First dies, then memory chips and SMDs in general, now that lol  That's also why prices are going up again, supply & demand, supply of components is low, demand is high, so they're probably charging more to get the parts to build them, which means costs for making the card go up, and then we eat it as retail price increases.

Like I said before, I expect the 3090 will be over $2k regardless of model, 3080 will be close or at 2080 Ti prices, 3070 will be like $1k - this is going to be so stupid.  No way a 3060 is worth $500+ but that's what it will be by May most likely, regardless of make or model.

Remember when xx60 cards were $200-$250? Or when $6-700 would get you a top of the line card?  I miss those days.  I understand prices have gone up because components have gotten better/faster etc, but still, $1200+ for a "second top tier" card is double what they were just a few years ago.  Insane.

And yes, I know, me saying that when I have a Kingpin is KekW.
