Should be one of the good ones right?
Running a: 3060ti yes Running a 3070 yes Running a 3080 pushed hard with an i7 or i9 cpu or a ryzen 3900 cpu pushed hard it could wilt after running a few hours of hard over clocked gaming.

Probably a dumb question, but with a custom loop, 5950X, 3080. Is my 850 W seasonic cutting it a bit close? Or am I fine?
Unless you push that 5950X REALLY hard, you should be completely fine.

It's the spikes that happen during heavy load on the 3080 & 3090 that have caused issues with lower wattage PSUs, even eVGA's. Several people with 750W PSUs from eVGA & other brands have stated that they had shut down issues etc that were solved by upgrading to a higher wattage PSU, despite not having their GPU OCed at all.
Apparently both the 3080 & 3090 have momentary spikes in either wattage or amp load that results in shut downs on most of those PSUs.
Darn, even the EVGA G3 750W? I just upgraded my pc to an i9-10850k with 32GB samsung B-die memory that I'm in the process of overclocking. Was hoping to not have to upgrade my PSU since I only bought it last year. Got a little over a minute to go in the queue for the 3898...I suppose I should start keeping an eye out for a good deal on an 850W PSU.
From what I understand the G3 specifically is one of the PSUs that was having the issue - I could be mistaken though, there were a few different 750W models having the problem and 1 or 2 that weren't. I would do a quick forum search or look in the PSU list of what's working thread, see if you can find references to it being good or not.
The Hybrid cards are more power efficient because they create less heat & thereby have less ... what's the term for it, my brain is fried... as the card runs cooler, it draws slightly less power as a result, is what I'm trying to say. lol
You can always try it, worst thing that could happen is you get a shut down. Just whenever you get your card in, run a benchmark that's heavy load, TimeSpy Extreme or Port Royal, on the GPU. Then try an actual game, if it doesn't randomly shut down during that, you should be good to go.
Thanks for the info, I'll definitely do some research into it. But yeah I might just give it a shot and see how the G3 handles the hybrid. That is, if the queue doesn't only move 1 second every couple weeks. Oh and I think the term you were trying to think of is perhaps "leakage"?

Roughly this: You buy a video card rom EVGA. You register your card. EVGA releases a better card within 90 days. You pay the difference and trade in your old card for a new and better card.

So with few cards trickling through EVGA, some random drops on Newegg/Amazon/B&H and virtually nothing from Best Buy... Do they know something we dont?
Maybe Biden has promised to end the tariff? That must be it! Start the hype! Soon graphic cards will be plentiful and cheap... *looks at crypto prices*

I finally scored a 3070! But it's a Zotac. At least some of the pressure is off. I'll wait for EVGA to come through for 3060 and 3080. Edit 4/24/21: I gave to 3070 away at cost to a friend

It's possible the new administration will roll back the tax/tariff wars with Asian countries & others, but if it does, it will be a slow process that will take months and may not fully take effect until the beginning of next year. Unfortunately it's not something that can just be undone overnight, like some other things, because it's a tax code/budget thing that would have to go through Congress. I would assume part of the reason there have not been many drops on the whole yet is a result of the implementation of that exemption expiration, the GPU AIB makers themselves are having to adjust their prices & then adjust them with the retailers as well, and from what I understand, they will go up again as a result of this exemption ending etc in April or thereabouts.

Given the overwhelming demand at any reasonable or even not very reasonable price, even if the tariffs end or get reduced I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for prices to fall. Businesses hate to lower prices. But yes we're bleeped for many reasons.

I've had an EVGA P2 in my computers since about 2015. They are the 650 w P2 series. EVGA gold series are good also. When I get my 3755 card, I'll be installing an EVGA 850w P2 (platinum series). I think going with a gold or platinum series with about 850 watts will give you plenty of headroom. I never buy a cheap psu. It's one of the most important parts in your system that you don't want to cheap out on.

Forgive my ignorance, but is the xc3 3080 the sku that has never moved in the queue? 3881? I wonder if the xc3 hybrid variant will not move in a similar fashion, favoring the FTW's... Of course, I only have a good shot at the 3888, 12/10 @ 9:23:42 out of all the sku's... I was prepared to get a good time for the 3898 which is really what I want, but of course I had to take a really important call and forgot to notify like a dingus - 12/21 @ 11:14:00. I was doing fine with my 1080 hybrid and didn't want to drive myself crazy with this disaster, but I just upgraded to a AW3821DW (3860×1600 144hz monitor) and I really need that extra juice now. The 1080 hybrid has been bulletproof for me for years, but she's bogged down now. Let's pray to Poseidon for some wet cards soon 🙏

We only had five total queues receive cards -- per EVGA_JacobF -- but only three reported back to sources I check. Missing from the reports were 3663 and 3751, so they may have moved a little too. Today felt very much like a straggler drop across the board. We only had five total queues receive cards -- per EVGA_JacobF -- but only three reported back to sources I check. Missing from the reports were 3663 and 3751, so they may have moved a little too.
