Dabadger84 That's as expected. We knew once launch day was gotten past the card queue in question would pick up steam, regardless of which queue it is. It will slow down again when it hits the day the Queue System was implemented, then pick up speed again after that. You have to keep in mind, for each card, the highest amount of sign ups are going to be on release day, and then of course for the 3080s/3090s, the day they implemented the queue system. Good luck on the drops today guys, just some reminders:
- Don't forget to use an Associate's Code during checkout, it will save you 3% off your GPU purchase, and up to 10% on other purchases. All you have to do is use the code at checkout (a few useful ones: Mine: 47AQQ6KPU2IZNXY - Enewt's: VDN2319M4O569J4 ) or click the links there & it will make a cookie to insert the code automatically during checkout, then when you receive your card, be sure to register it & upload your invoice from the EVGA order page. My eVGA bucks from this in particular will be going to a Z590 Dark board, so I appreciate anyone that uses my code greatly ;)
- Keep in mind if you're ordering a Hybrid card: the tubing is 400mm in length, and the radiator + fan combo is about 56mm thick; Hybrid card radiator exhaust can be in excess of 34-41C air, having it setup as intake is not recommended even in a CPU AIO/GPU AIO setup, as unless you have a very high core count CPU that puts out more than 400W of heat, the GPU radiator will always be the hotter of the two.
- If you purchase a card elsewhere, it's best not to remove your notify queues until you receive the card, just to be on the safe side, as if you do remove it then have to requeue, you would be at the back of the line. Once you receive your card & remove yourself from other queues, kindly let us know which cards you removed yourself from queue for, so that others in those queues know they've effectively moved up a spot.
- It is recommended that you have, at the bare minimum, a quality 750W (or in my opinion, 850W) PSU for a 3080, and at least a 850W (or in my opinion, 1000W) PSU for a 3090, especially if you plan to overclock your CPU and/or other components at all. Keep in mind that OCed CPUs quickly go up in power draw in most cases, i.e. a 95W TDP CPU like a 9900K can get up to 170-190W of draw from a simple 5GHz OC like mine. Even if you're running a 3080 on a stock system, I would definitely recommend against going with less than 750W at a bare minimum, just to avoid any future issues.
3%... What happened to 5%. Did EVGA go down the Greed hole AGAIN?
Price increases on all brands. EVGA seems to keep the prices the same for those in the queue until march. So it isnt EVGA only. Hell, It could be that Nvidia raised the prices of the chips and ram. Thus it was a chain of events.

It’s Wednesday. No material changes overnight. It is inauguration day in the US. Let’s inaugurate a new gpu into our rigs...or at least start the process today. Go get your card! I'm so glad you posted this, as I was planning on asking about this anyway. So, if I am reading correctly, I should setup my K|NGP|N radiator as exhaust to the outside of the case, correct? I'm going to install it along with a CPU AIO in a Lian Li O11D XL case, so I was thinking of rear/bottom intake, with both radiators (GPU-side, CPU-top) as exhaust. Am I doing it right? As long as I have a high quality PSU (Corsair RM850x), I should be okay to run the K|INGP|N and the 3900X, yes? Thanks!

It's probably healthier for me to just quit combing the forums for hopes and clues. Someday I'll be surprised with a Hybrid email. Luckily, it's still dry season for PC games.

That's EVGA being so generous IMO :) , you can always ignore using the code and hope for them to make you pay for the full new MSRP you know..
Was EVGA one of the last if not the last to raise their prices? But, I also don't hear about any other companies offering a discount on their gpu's. People forget, they are a business first and I would rather pay more for them to stick around longer. They do more for their community than other companies.

The 3% is still them giving you free money off for absolutely no actual reason other than having a rewards program that rewards other members some eVGA Bucks for the discount code being used to purchase via their website. As Hulky said, you can always ask them to charge you fully current MSRP, if you feel you shouldn't receive any discount at all... cuz complaining about a free discount being reduced is kinda silly. It changed to 3% for GPUs at the beginning of the year, they could have just taken it away completely.

I hate what's happening with prices, but we are basically competing with each other as consumers. There are simply more consumers than product right now. Also, I think a CEO who has people banging on the door offering to pay higher prices would be a fool to refuse to take the higher offers. How many of us would talk down a salary offer at an interview? What? You want to pay me 100k a year? I clearly stated that I wanted between 50k and 60k on my application and I simply will not accept a penny more!

HammerHead90 New user here! Just wanted to ask, I signed up for notification about three of the 3080s at EU store - is there anything else I should do? Is the 8hr-to-make-a-decision system from OP post also available for EU? I just want to buy a graphics card like a human being, without being glued to 5 shops, clicking F5. :)
You can come back and report your purchase email so I can move the EU queues a bit further, not many europeans here but some have found a place to chill out

while any discount is nice, it's still a little crappy for them to just suddenly drop the discount amount. seemingly at the same time that prices went up. you have people that have been waiting in the queue from day one, expecting to pay a certain price (maybe even factoring in that 5% discount for their budget), and then suddenly the prices go up, and the discount gets dropped. it's not an insignificant change in final price. and yeah EVGA is graciously witholding the price hike until April, but the reality is that most people on the queue will not get their notification before then. i used the 5% discount when I bought my 3070 at launch, so the change is definitely recent.

jdcarpe I'm so glad you posted this, as I was planning on asking about this anyway. Thanks!
I have the same case. I have the 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid at the top (exhaust) and the AIO on the side (intake). I have three fans on the bottom (intake), one fan at the top and back (both for exhaust). I am considering to make the AIO on the side as exhaust though

Would having the gpu rad at top side 2 fans exhaust, with bottom side fan intake along with 3 bottom intake, cpu 360 rad top exhaust and back single exhaust on same case?

archjake It's probably healthier for me to just quit combing the forums for hopes and clues. Someday I'll be surprised with a Hybrid email. Luckily, it's still dry season for PC games.

gsrcrxsi while any discount is nice, it's still a little crappy for them to just suddenly drop the discount amount. seemingly at the same time that prices went up. you have people that have been waiting in the queue from day one, expecting to pay a certain price (maybe even factoring in that 5% discount for their budget), and then suddenly the prices go up, and the discount gets dropped. it's not an insignificant change in final price. and yeah EVGA is graciously witholding the price hike until April, but the reality is that most people on the queue will not get their notification before then. i used the 5% discount when I bought my 3070 at launch, so the change is definitely recent.
howw is it crappy of them.. the code is referal.. most of us arent even using the code for referal but for discount. and they're a corporation out to make profit. if u dont like it u can go buy expensive msi.asus. gigabyte if u dont like.. slandering them greedy is just you being stupid n selfish.

I thought of putting the GPU rad on the top side but the tubing seemed to stretched to much. As for have the bottom side fan as intake and have the GPU rad at the top side as exhaust, I don't think it's a good idea because the bottom side fan will recirculate the hot air from the exhaust fans of the GPU rad fans.
