CptT95 I think the 3080 cards at the top IE HC hybrid and ftw3 ultra are maxing out the power available from 3 power connectors hitting higher clocks then the 90s, with the 3090s having same power input but more chip to power they hit a lower clock target in real usage hence the 8 for third digit with kingpin maxing out the clock with its best chip bin
Did EVGA confirm that the Kingpin chips are binned (Other than the 1920MHz guaranteed clock)? I saw a youtube review (not sure how reliable the source was) but the guy had a STRIX & SUPRIM and he said the Kingpin was worse for OCing compared to the other two when using the same EVGA special BIOS.

Shouldn't be a problem at all unless you're running a crazy-high OC on something like a Threadripper or big-socket Intel (X299) chip.

chonlel Been lurking here for a little while, first time poster. Starting to get encouraged by the 3897 queue picking up steam. If the spreadsheets are a significant enough sample size (doubt), that email might be arriving in my inbox sooner rather than later. Which would be convenient timing as the 3667 that I managed to get the invite to purchase for on Launch Day that I've been borrowing is going into its permanent home soon...
The way its being tracked here the sample size doesn't matter very much as having a reliable report from someone saying they've received the purchase email along with them reporting what their notification signup time was is all that is needed. Ex: We get a reliable report from someone saying they got their purchase email and that they signed up on "12/16/2020 09:03:08" so we know for that SKU that EVGA has processed up to "12/16/2020 09:03:08". Attempting to then estimate exactly how many cards that translates too is a fools errand as there's no way to ever get a sample size large enough to estimate actual card totals but that's not what's important. The important thing to know is about "where" in a SKU queue EVGA is at and then be able to see how much that position moved since the last drop. It could be that EVGA actually got a little further than "12/16/2020 09:03:08" and we simply didn't have a report on it but presumably what we hear is very close to the real position (i.e. could be off by seconds but presumably not minutes/hours as there would be SOMEBODY with a later reliable report that would show up here)

So, I guess you could say I made progress yesterday. For the first time in the 4 months since the 30's have been released, I actually saw active "add to cart" buttons, however they were on Newegg, and none of them worked, all were lit up but I guess it was sold out before any could be added. Bots won again.

It would be wise to plan on a PSU upgrade if you're going to be overclocking your CPU & GPU, several 750W PSU units have had issues with the 3080 and 3090 because of the power spikes associated with both cards under load.

I'm getting very frustrated waiting for a 3060TI or a 3070, and for a 5900x CPU, but at least I scored an appointment for a COVID vaccination today. Being a 74 year old diabetic, getting the vaccination should increase my chances of still being alive by the time I can get the parts to get my new computer built. In the meantime, I am making do with my 5 year old i7-6700/GTX 970 system.

What are the "stragglers"? Are those cards for which a notification was sent the prior day, which the person notified did not purchase (e.g., because he or she was signed up for more than one SKU and already got one)?

Dabadger84 That's as expected. We knew once launch day was gotten past the card queue in question would pick up steam, regardless of which queue it is. It will slow down again when it hits the day the Queue System was implemented, then pick up speed again after that. You have to keep in mind, for each card, the highest amount of sign ups are going to be on release day, and then of course for the 3080s/3090s, the day they implemented the queue system. Good luck on the drops today guys, just some reminders:
- Don't forget to use an Associate's Code during checkout, it will save you 3% off your GPU purchase, and up to 10% on other purchases. All you have to do is use the code at checkout (a few useful ones: Mine: 47AQQ6KPU2IZNXY - Enewt's: VDN2319M4O569J4 ) or click the links there & it will make a cookie to insert the code automatically during checkout, then when you receive your card, be sure to register it & upload your invoice from the EVGA order page. My eVGA bucks from this in particular will be going to a Z590 Dark board, so I appreciate anyone that uses my code greatly ;)
- Keep in mind if you're ordering a Hybrid card: the tubing is 400mm in length, and the radiator + fan combo is about 56mm thick; Hybrid card radiator exhaust can be in excess of 34-41C air, having it setup as intake is not recommended even in a CPU AIO/GPU AIO setup, as unless you have a very high core count CPU that puts out more than 400W of heat, the GPU radiator will always be the hotter of the two.
- If you purchase a card elsewhere, it's best not to remove your notify queues until you receive the card, just to be on the safe side, as if you do remove it then have to requeue, you would be at the back of the line. Once you receive your card & remove yourself from other queues, kindly let us know which cards you removed yourself from queue for, so that others in those queues know they've effectively moved up a spot.
- It is recommended that you have, at the bare minimum, a quality 750W (or in my opinion, 850W) PSU for a 3080, and at least a 850W (or in my opinion, 1000W) PSU for a 3090, especially if you plan to overclock your CPU and/or other components at all. Keep in mind that OCed CPUs quickly go up in power draw in most cases, i.e. a 95W TDP CPU like a 9900K can get up to 170-190W of draw from a simple 5GHz OC like mine. Even if you're running a 3080 on a stock system, I would definitely recommend against going with less than 750W at a bare minimum, just to avoid any future issues.

Are there any updates on the 3080 Hybrids? Those were moving fairly well in December but have seemed to have dried up in January.

That's EVGA being so generous IMO :) , you can always ignore using the code and hope for them to make you pay for the full new MSRP you know..
