Trying to see when the "notify me" will go live for 3060. Did I miss the memo or have they not announced it yet?

Hey y’all, do emails typically go out weekly? I’m a little later in the 3060 queue (12/1 9:35am) and I think I missed the cutoff for those emails as folks with earlier times (2hours earlier) have already received their purchase emails. Hopeful for next round 😁

So, from what I gather, the google doc with the times and available models are only listing the auto notify alerts and are not actually the list of times for the step up program correct? Because I signed up for the step up on 9/29 and I've been hearing that the step ups in particular are moving REALLY slowly.

Is that what is going on rn? Bc if so the step up wasnt worth it and I'm almost tempted to sell my step up card to get a 3090 at my local store...

I knew I shoulda signed up for the Kingpin at 9:15.  Ah well... now I'm only 5 minutes away :-P How big was the drop today, 10 cards? LOL j/k

Edit: I suppose it's too much to hope for that more than 10 people will let the Kingpin roll over to the next person for tomorrow :-P At least I SHOULD definitely get hit by the next ACTUAL drop now that I'm ~10 spots away on the list we have going.

Apparently 2 people used my Associate's code for Kingpin purchases today, thank you to you peoples in particular, that's eVGA Bucks towards my Z590 Dark purchase when the time comes ^_^

Hoping tomorrow enough people passed on it for the queue to hit me, but I realize that's extremely unlikely since from what I know only ONE person out of the entire Kingpin queue so far as declined to purchase.

I seem to remember telling you not to wait too long...or I am thinking of the Hybrid queue?

37 KPEs dropped to the self-reported queue folks, so it was likely at least 50 KPEs today.  And while you likely won't get the benefit of the inevitable straggler drop tomorrow or Wednesday, you should be in the next "new" KPE drop.  Best of luck!

Eh overall I don't mind waiting, it gave me plenty of time to vet & enjoy this regular 3090 Hybrid & figure out that it will most likely be getting RMAed for power limit issues once I get the Kingpin in... I might still waste the $90 on an NVLink bridge just to run Port Royal in SLi for the funsies.  Haven't decided on that yet.

Hopefully next week, either way that's aight, at least I'm not stuck on the 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid I resold at this resolution, that would be sad-panda status somethin' fierce.

Will this new process stop bots?

It's not so new; It was announced back in October. We'd be a lot better off if other AIBs and tech companies adopted a similar process to fight the bots.

The queue process does prevent bot buy-ups of stock from here, but it doesn't prevent scalping. You are free to flip your purchase. Though EVGA put limits on how many of each card you can buy.

That said, I have seen a lot of people here with almost every skew in queue...that may be so they can get their hands on any GPU ASAP...or it can be so they can flip their buys as they become available. It is not a perfect system.

On the topic of the ethics of scalping. Yes, there are POS who do this to get rich. There are also people who've lost their jobs and are flipping what they can hoping to make rent and provide for their families until better times come.

The people who pay 3 times MSRP for a GPU are people who used to go to their offices, but now find they are asked/allowed to work from home and find they like video games, and can afford $3k-$5k to get what they want.

Then there are some of us who have been quietly and patiently waiting for a single card to drop.  Technically I could have selected up to 6 cards that would all fit my waterblock from EK.  I was smart enough to contact them as soon as the mention of the new cards drop date.  As soon as they had specs, I ordered the waterblock to fit the card I wanted and actually received it a lot quicker than I thought.  Thought for sure it would have come long after the GPU's were released.  Here I was thinking ahead and trying to plan for the eventual water block shortage that has always plagued us in the past, only to be scr*wed by the bots/scalpers and horrible planning by the corporations behind this little nightmare we are all waiting through.  I'm still running a 1070 and had recently built an entirely new system to compliment the 3080 that would fit right in it.  So it is what it is.  My date is 9/18 for the 3881 and I didn't sign up for any others because I figured it was only fair to give everybody a shot.  Although now I'm thinking it would have been smarter, since I'm 2 days out and my card hasn't moved a second in weeks.  Doing the math, at this rate I'd likely receive my email sometime around halloween in 2021.  The irony is I decided to pickup a new monitor in the meantime.  The 4 models I was looking at all suddenly jumped 2-500 dollars overnight while I researched all of them.  Don't know if it was coincidence or somebody figured out that the new cards usually meant new monitors.  The irony is that I ended up picking up something else and went back to show a buddy the next day.  This monitor was just released and is already sold out at the only place that had it.  Other companies haven't even gotten their stock yet.  The previous (companies; vioetec, sceptre, MSI, etc) monitors were all on amazon (and SOLD by amazon).  When the prices jumped, amazon no longer sold them and they were under independent vendors.  For the record, I picked up the new MSI Optix MAG342CQR 34" from newegg.  Ordered it in the morning, they were sold out by that evening.  So not sure if the bots/scalpers are moving into that realm, but by the looks of amazon it doesn't surprise me.  Buying a $500 monitor and jacking the price up to 7-800 is a pretty good bet it's scalpers.

I am right there with ya. I have been waiting for a none ftw3/hybrid card and it has barely moved. The design for the card is not for me and my build. Feels like they are prioritizing their ftw3 line. When they were letting people know their position in the queue. I was over 400 for all 3. So, I know that there are quite a lot of people wanting them. With how the queue is going. I wonder if we won't see many XC3 before the ftw3/hybrid queue is depleted. I sure hope not, because I don't want to wait that long and I won't break down to buy another model because it is in stock.

08G-P5-3667-KR 12/1/2020 7:13:16 AM PT. Is their a way I can give you my spot for the 3060 Ti FTW3 Ultra? I got my email for the 3663 XC one yesterday so I have no use for this one I'm not a scalper.

Sadly, no.  Not unless you let you recipient take over your evga account to make the transaction (this is not something I recommend by the way)....

oletorius
I also have a question for ring leader enewt. How is your own queue moving for the one you would like? I haven't seen you mention yours. Just curious. I hope you get yours soon!

Ring leader has such a nefarious connotation, no?  I prefer community member.

And, to answer your question, I am waiting on the HC...although my resolve is weakening...a hybrid would also work after some reworking of the plan.  This wasn't the original plan, mind you, but given how much time I have had to think about things...4+ months (and that is time period AFTER I naively thought I would be able to purchase a gpu)...well, the plan has morphed several times over.  I am cognizant that I am overthinking it, but...if this is the way of the future for tech launches...this may be the last build I ever do (having to go through this again would likely kill me; I am not a spring chicken anymore).

Thanks for your kind words; I hope the qc issues with the HCs gets resolved asap and this all gets back on track.

As an aside, my original plan was a 30 series air-cooled card and I was able to buy that...but my older brother's card died and he doesn't have a back-up (I, at least, have a 3-yr old gaming laptop that I have been able to use for Rocket League (47 fps for the win!)...).
Why would it be a problem? Im not in any other queues and my card info isn't saved.

If you trust the guy, no problem.  But, think about what information you have in your account settings info, including your history of cards, warranty stuff, etc.  If it was a friend...I would consider it.  Somebody I "met" in an online forum...less sure I'd go down that path.  But folks have different comfort levels around privacy, info sharing, etc.  YMMV.

Man, that 3897 is moving along:

'

At this rate, it will catch up with my 3898 sometime next week which seems to have been stuck for several weeks now:

Hey guys so what exactly am i looking at in the table above.....sorry have been on here in awhile to follow along....am i seeing that notifications for FTW Ultra that were made 18 Sept are slowly moving? What is the column to the left showing Jan 5 to Jan 19 ?
I placed my order / notification on 6 Oct 3080 FTW Ultra.....looks like i have long wait still?

I just took enewt's daily updates and tracked the daily progress for a particular SKU.

1st column is the date enewt reported, 3rd column is the notification signup timestamp for users getting notifications that day, and the 4th column shows the queue movement since the previously date movement was reported.

I then compared the most recent entry with my position in the queue for that SKU to determine how far away I am.  Currently I'm just over 7 hours away.  Based on an average daily movement of 74 minutes, if the pace continues, I should get my notification to purchase in about 6 days.

Been lurking here for a little while, first time poster. Starting to get encouraged by the 3897 queue picking up steam. If the spreadsheets are a significant enough sample size (doubt), that email might be arriving in my inbox sooner rather than later. Which would be convenient timing as the 3667 that I managed to get the invite to purchase for on Launch Day that I've been borrowing is going into its permanent home soon...

That's as expected.  We knew once launch day was gotten past the card queue in question would pick up steam, regardless of which queue it is.  It will slow down again when it hits the day the Queue System was implemented, then pick up speed again after that.
You have to keep in mind, for each card, the highest amount of sign ups are going to be on release day, and then of course for the 3080s/3090s, the day they implemented the queue system.

Good luck on the drops today guys, just some reminders:

  • Don't forget to use an Associate's Code during checkout, it will save you 3% off your GPU purchase, and up to 10% on other purchases.  All you have to do is use the code at checkout (a few useful ones: Mine: 47AQQ6KPU2IZNXY - Enewt's: VDN2319M4O569J4 ) or click the links there & it will make a cookie to insert the code automatically during checkout, then when you receive your card, be sure to register it & upload your invoice from the EVGA order page.  My eVGA bucks from this in particular will be going to a Z590 Dark board, so I appreciate anyone that uses my code greatly ;)
  • Keep in mind if you're ordering a Hybrid card: the tubing is 400mm in length, and the radiator + fan combo is about 56mm thick;  Hybrid card radiator exhaust can be in excess of 34-41C air, having it setup as intake is not recommended even in a CPU AIO/GPU AIO setup, as unless you have a very high core count CPU that puts out more than 400W of heat, the GPU radiator will always be the hotter of the two.
  • If you purchase a card elsewhere, it's best not to remove your notify queues until you receive the card, just to be on the safe side, as if you do remove it then have to requeue, you would be at the back of the line.  Once you receive your card & remove yourself from other queues, kindly let us know which cards you removed yourself from queue for, so that others in those queues know they've effectively moved up a spot.
  • It is recommended that you have, at the bare minimum, a quality 750W (or in my opinion, 850W) PSU for a 3080, and at least a 850W (or in my opinion, 1000W) PSU for a 3090, especially if you plan to overclock your CPU and/or other components at all.  Keep in mind that OCed CPUs quickly go up in power draw in most cases, i.e. a 95W TDP CPU like a 9900K can get up to 170-190W of draw from a simple 5GHz OC like mine.  Even if you're running a 3080 on a stock system, I would definitely recommend against going with less than 750W at a bare minimum, just to avoid any future issues.

I'm running an EVGA 850w t2 I think it's enough for 3080 😒🤔
