None..... Unless EVGA or another company decides to make blocks don't expect one. If you want to pay nateman a large chunk of money to make a one off he will.

Re:EVGA X79 Dark Saturday, August 10, 2013 10:21 PM (permalink)
That's one thing I've been holding out on with regards to the Dark.  I bought the EVGA FTW3 2 years ago which was similar at the time in that it was made shortly before the end of the X58 chipset.  There were some waterblocks that worked for it but very few and shortly after x79 arrived, blocks were almost impossible to find.   So I'm waiting to see if EK or anyone else announces a block for this before I dive in and buy a board.

It seems a little more likely that a block will be made as this is:
1.  An enthusiast board that attracts people who liquid cool.
2.  No other manufacturers have announced as significant of a product update so it wouldn't be a choice of which new blocks to make, just whether or not to make this one.
3.  I would be very surprised if EVGA put out a board with all these overclocking options, that is of the quality they claim, then have no board cooling available from any vendor.

Depending on how many people buy one there could be a worthwhile market.  My guess is that if EK doesn't make a block, EVGA may offer one.  They did offer a block  for X58 so those resources are available somewhere.

Oh well, if I see a block I'll buy the board.  But another consideration.  Because this is the final product for X79, if a block is made then just buy it...  There definitely won't be many and they won't be around for very long.

Well,...  EK does not sound good at all...  The board is now on their cooling configurator:
"Sorry, we have no plans to make any waterblocks for this position. Thank you."

Anyone else having trouble doing the Step-up last night or today? I can get to where it says upgrade and it goes to the Step-Up screen and the select the board and shipping. When I hit "Calculate Final Cost" the screen does not load, it shows this:
I emailed support last night but no response yet and I would like to get this going now. Maybe someone from EVGA on the Forums here could help?

There's a member on our forum who has made custom waterblocks in the past, even for boards that didn't see any blocks from the regular companies.  I'll shoot him a PM to take a look at the thread.

Questions about PCI Express 3.0. (I apologize if this has been covered before) From what I understand about NVIDIA's notes, they only support and guarantee PCI Express 2.0 bus speeds on X79/SNB-E. The Dark is PCI Express 3.0 ready and Ivy Bridge ready. If I use an Ivy Bridge-E CPU (maybe i7-4960X) with it, and say a GTX Titan... I should be getting full PCI 3.0 support at that point, and possibly an 8GT/s bus speed... correct?

According to Vince (Kingpin), who tested the Dark in this post using a SB-E, all slots on the Dark were able to use 3.0.  Look at post #114 in this thread >> http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1988184  So IB-E should work the same.

Even if they have the weekend off. I got it on friday and straight after I received the e-mail. My number is 4. I would have thought it should've moved at least one step closer. I guess they sent out the e-mails and went off for the day.

Could it be that it's because you're in Europe and not available quite yet??

True, EVGA's stock in Europe seem to be lagging behind the US most of the time. Oh well. More points to skill up patience, I guess.

If you were on the Dark Step Up Promotion, your board is reserved so you should be okay... once you confirm the email and participation then (and if they were working when you sent it) they will validate  your invoice and when that's done send you the next step and then you should move up.
