Wow still 2-3 months away! I guess we should all be rather thankful that so much care is being given to this MB because it DOES have a lot to live up to after what has happened. As I have said many times while waiting for things to get fixed it can get VERY fustruating. BUT when the corrections comes you feel quite relieved... I can not wait to stop playing which USB 3.0 works, I want my PCIe 3.0 card to work without a hassle, I want my Lan to NOT overload transferring large files across it. while ARE minor issues It will be nice NOT to have them.. Thanks for the update Jacob keep them coming regularly as possible and things in here will simmer down in time when things are ironed out.

AS long as I can get a healthy Credit for my FTW I am in favor of spending a bit for it as I have said after 3 RMAs and a STILL non 100% functioning board I THINK I should get something... AND I know its NOT only me... $400 Just sounds so much for a MB That last time I spend more than that was for a Tyan Dual Opteron MB that lasted for YEARS and YEARS and worked 24/7 and NEVER had an issues... I miss those days...

I just hope we get some kind of accommodation for the new x79 Dark and that us x79 early adopters don't get left in the dust with a still NON-working mobo! The LAN overload issue is the WORST issue I am having and I get quite annoyed by it. FIX THE ISSUES or give us a NEW 100% working mobo that we were supposed to get in the first place!!

THIS ^ Just rebuilt my system after getting my X79 FTW back from RMA ..... still has issues and they didn't fix the things I asked them to. Told them I NEEDED PCI-E 3.0 working as it was the main reason for me going X79 ... still d6 codes! Had to pay AU$80 to ship it to them and it still isn't working how it should .... pretty bloody angry about this crap MB. I will be waiting to see if the BIOS they are working on fixes the issues (doubtful after over a years wait). If it doesn't and they do not offer to replace it with the X79 DARK or give us suckers an awesome discount, I am going to make it a mission of mine to bad mouth EVGA all over the web. Shame on you EVGA .... how can you stomach ripping off your customers! So here I am stuck with a faulty MB (YES FAULTY as it doesn't work as advertised). Really .... never expected this from EVGA ....

Her eis the slot assignments:
1 card = X16 2 cards = x16/x16 3 cards = x16/x16/x8
Then it should support 2 GTX 690 @ 16x? Gen2 or Gen3 with the i7 3970X Thanks Bill

My SB-E processors are running GEN3 just fine with a mixture of 7970 and 680 cards. I run the cards loaded 24/7 and have not seen any stability problems. Some slots on existing EVGA x79 boards can have intermittent issues staying locked in at PCI-E 3.0. In my case, slot 4 is the troublesome slot but more so with NVIDIA cards. Hopefully the Dark board will correct that issue.
