Only if it is 1.5v and less would I do that, and only if that is a Hexa Channel kit, you would only run 4 of that six anyways. Meant to run four sticks, not three or six.

It lists both, 1.5V and 1.65V: http://www.corsair.com/cmp6gx3m3a1600c8.html
HWINFO64 shows it at 1.5V
(not sure which one is correct, nothing in my system is OC'd)

Hi Jacob. I'm sure you're sick of this question but any update on release date? It's getting like Spring Break here! Everyone's gagging for it!

Sorry it slipped a bit. Looking a bit more like late May/June right now.

Looks like it will be 1 or 2 months yet

Most of the people that show products have them in working condition ready to ship within a month or so. EVGA always seems to run into an issue that sets them back no matter what it is.

I'm gonna stay with my 3930k until the next big leap in processor performance.

Once this board comes out I'm going with it and changing to a bigger Case.

I need the extra sata 3 ports and PCIE layout.
I have a feeling EVGA is going to do it right this time.

I'm one of the few that have no issues with my board. everything works without a hitch.

If they waited for this motherboard to be "100% right" it would never launch.

I quite honestly feel sorry for those of you that buy this.

A year + of a broken product and still, over 1/2 the major issues aren't addressed.

If this were a car, we'd have a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer and we would've won a long, long time ago with full refunds.

Instead, here we sit, with broken product, that some of us purchased at launch for an inflated $400+...For a product, that still does //not// work as advertised.

Bought 10 of them...Just replaced the 10th with a RIVE and my client, couldn't be happier.

I will never buy another motherboard from this company, ever again until they do right by those of us that stood by them on launch, only for them to essentially throw it back in our faces.

Good luck to those of you that decide, against all forms of common sense to make the jump and purchase this...May you not have the same experiences, we did.

Well I am sorry for your troubles, but there are still a lot of us x58 Classified users that have never had any problems at all, and if we did EVGA took care of us.  That is why I would like to stay EVGA on my next build.  I wish I could see the need to switch to a x79 board, but why leave something that is almost as powerful and has no problems.  I am hoping this Dark boards is just what I am looking for.

I agree with this..^^^  My board and CPU have been running a long time now flawlessly and I keep thinking I need to upgrade, but then I think why.  But I am keeping my eye on the X79 Dark's progress and am eager to see what it offers...

My Checklist:

1.)  FULL 40 lanes
2.) WORKING Bios
3.)  WORKING USB Ports  (with no surge on hub port bs)
4.)  PCIE-3.0 working in all slots

If any of these are not met, it is a failure since Asus/Gigabyte/MSI/ASrock seem to manage to accommodate them.

100% Agreed. There is no excuse for releasing the board without everything on this list.

Oh and ffs EVGA, please spend the $3 and put enough OPTION ROM on the board to run an LSI RAID card. To ANY enthusiast, X79 motherboards only have 2 usable SATA ports THAT'S IT - the 2 x Intel 6GB - the rest are trash and are a non-starter. The bloody Asus Rampage IV Extreme doesn't even have enough, and I had to flash a March 2011 BIOS to the 9265-8i (3-4 BIOS' old) to get it to post. Any serious enthusiast has a serious RAID setup, and NOONE has the right to call a board 'Enthusiast Grade' without it having plenty of option ROM for a REAL RAID card to post. 2 usable onboard SATA ports ain't gonna cut it. LSI no-post = insta-return.

Secondly (and also ffs), PLEASE DO NOT ENABLE COLD PRESENCE DETECTION on the PCI-E slots! If I turn off a lane I want it DEAD! ZERO power, NON-EXISTENT, as if NOTHING is there - NO PCI-E lane penalty!! MSI is the ONLY company I've come across that does this right! Pick up their Big Bang XPower II X79 mobo and observe and duplicate PCI-E lane disabling done RIGHT!

Thank you!!

Isn't that an intel thing?

When it comes to native SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0 support AMD trumps intel.

I still don't understand this logic.  That X58 board was designed by a different EVGA.  The BIOS was designed by a guy who now works for Asus.  EVGA hasn't put out a SOLID board since X58 and that doesn't worry you?   We will continue to get these crap boards until people like us vote with our wallets.  EVGA needs to fire the entire BIOS team and start again.  I have never seen such a joke.   The Classified X79 (which now sits in my closet and that was MY SECOND BOARD) has been selling for the last 3-4 months at 250 bucks.  I purchased mine for close to 500.  Some people even discontinued sales of the X79 EVGA lineup it was so bad. It's time to start program "de-brainwashing EVGA brand loyalists"

One man can't mean everything for motherboard segment...
Nobody can't convince me in that...
Furthermore Shamino work for ASUS and some people cursed and some part of their BIOS. Nobody can't convince me if he cross to EVGA we will get best next series of motherboard... Him or tree man more... OK they resolve probably faster but and ASUS have problems... I want to say this is something other problem and one man can't influence on that... He can be tree time best in that job. He was only aware of this maybe before 2 years and more and can't influence on that...
Looking on that way if something happen with 5-7 people on the world motherboard industry will fall apart and for 3 years we can't buy good motherboard.

I would like to clarify some misinformation in here...

Firstly, several of the BIOS programmers that are on the EVGA team today are the same programmers that were at EVGA during the X58 days.

Secondly, most people assume that everything is BIOS related, yes BIOS plays a huge role in overclocking features, etc, but it is not the be all end all. Hardware plays a large role in this as well. The way memory traces are layed out, your choice of components and PCB layout are critical.

With that being said, the next generation of motherboards including X79 Dark have many improvements to key areas which help tremendously (mainly to OC and compatibility) Our course BIOS was completely retuned as well, and should move across entire line.

Lastly, there has not been much news on the X79 Dark because the product should speak for itself, and it is not going to ship until it is ready, so please stay tuned.

Sorry cannot comment on any unreleased CPU's, but it is planning to support all consumer CPU's that fit in Socket 2011.
