Regardless of my impression Of EVGA lately (last two years), as a murky and unfair player, especially EVGA Europe, I am sorry to hear this. EVGA used to be such a great company but during COVID and Crypto times, their formerly great reputation has been tainted badly.
Obviously much of these acts are product of Nvidia behavior, crush of crypto that led to unfair costumer/gamers treatment.
Sword of fate swings both ways!
We will see more in a few days.

The consumer really only has one option for GPU's and that is NVIDIA

huh?

ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

The more I sit with this, the more I really really hope that AMD and EVGA get something sorted.  AMD's GPU's should be very competitive and their ability to shift wafer allocation between products and EVGA's ability to immediately be their premiere AIB should provide EVGA better footing for a 7900XT FUJH3 Ultra/etc.

Maybe EVGA put a stand on pricing from Nvidia? Maybe they said if you can't let us sell at a reasonable price, we will drop your line of sales.

Who knows.

As someone who has been exclusively EVGA graphics cards for 20+ years this makes me sad. 😔

Came here after seeing Jay's video.  At first I had the same reaction as the dude from Blizzcon a few years back about Diablo Immortal being an out of cycle April Fool's joke /sigh.  15 years and 6 EVGA cards since the 8800GTS.  No idea where to go for 4000 series now as well.  EVGA's customer service and warranties are the two main reasons after their actual lineup that I always bought from them.  Won't be going AMD either since I've been getting into VR and have seen a few of the higher end ones actually requiring Nvidia GPU's to work.

Maybe this will change GPU pricing for the better. Let's face it, the consumer has been GOUGED on pricing from GPU'S, and this is NOT EVGA'S FAULT.

There's no reason graphics cards should be priced how they are, it's flat out robbery.

Maybe Nvidia will think twice now about how they structure the pricing.

I want to speculate that's not the whole story.

I don't think EVGA would be making this decision without fully thinking it through.

We are not privileged to this information so time will tell.

I'm watching this. I don't forsee it climbing either but I could be wrong.

https://g.co/finance/NVDA:NASDAQ

I also want to speculate that EVGA might get the ball rolling for other GPU sellers to look at the end user and how we have been paying absurd amounts for graphics cards.

Seriously though, pricing has been beyond ridiculous and who has been profiting the most?

Adeat
How will this affect the step-up program?

In terms of how the program is operated, no change at this time.  Availability was always a factor that we had to consider when a new series of cards launched, or changes to the offerings down the road as certain models become harder to come by.  It's unfortunate, but this always happens towards the end of a card series or beginning of a new one.

In terms of future selections, well, that's a bit more difficult to answer.  We will likely add and remove products depending on whether we have sufficient stock to fulfill Step-Up requests if we receive them.  Sometimes this changes quickly, sometimes it doesn't.  Given today's announcement, availability may change rapidly.

I agree with you if EVGA started producing AMD and INTEL GPU's I'd be happy as EVGA is pretty much the only brand in my current PC outside of the motherboard as they didn't release the X570 DARK until after I already built my system with an ASUS prime pro. EVGA is the only reason I buy Nvidia cards as the quality is too goddamn good to pass up for any other company. And a full team RED EVGA system would be icing on the cake.

From the way it sounds, like Andrew just wanted out the GPU game. It seems like they were tired of the disrespect from Nvidia. I don't think he is willing to sell. It appears like he is willing to let the business go down the drain. From the outset, I don't know if they can survive on accessory market. Time will tell.

It is a sad day indeed but i support Andrew's decision. You can't run a business being treated the way Nvidia is treating AIB's and then going up against them in the market selling FE cards at a lower cost. This will take time to process and i think everyone should wait and see how EVGA navigates this over the next 2-3 months, something new can happen. And if it doesn't, GALAX will be my new GPU brand.

how are you guys handling extended warranties?  especially when you run out of stock down the line?

i have a 3090 ftw hybrid that ive already had to rma a couple of times for a bad pump.  and this current one is acting up occasionally as it is, but its fine for now.   im not exactly expecting you guys to have stock on this card for warranty replacements in  2, 5? 8? years.

For those of us with the 10 year warranties we’ll be SOL very soon. Such a sad day. I regret buying my KPE now. So glad I didn’t waste money on the extended warranty for my 3080ti

What the hell...... There goes the enthusiast market, guess I'll be forced to give up on my loyalty and move to ASRock, MSI or even Asus.

Seriously, every one of my GPUs from from my original 7600 GT in 2006/7 to my BRAND NEW 3090 Ti in my desktop has been EVGA....

Had I knew, I wouldn't have got an EVGA card this gen....

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB, GTX 1080Ti
Corsair AX1200, Corsair 800D Case.

Has this been the confirmed outcome for those of us who have 10 year warranties? I wonder if this will ever be reflected on my current warranty status.

I think this has more to do with it than we are being told. There is plenty of evidence based on how Nvidia is doing pricing and the founders cards now that they want to be the apple of GPUs and have the whole ecosystem under their thumb. Thus why they can sell a 3090ti for just over 1k and make money but EVGA has to sell for 1400 and probably still loose a significant amount.

Just waiting for nvidia to start that paid subscription service required to get driver updates at this point.

I have over 8 years left on my 3090's warranty.  I hope they do intend to honor that warranty if I ever need it.  With a bit of luck, I won't need service at all.  EVGA makes good video cards, and I do not expect my video card to fail.  But I did buy the extended warranty simply because it made sense on such an expensive card.

Well EVGA just dropped 78% of their company. In one fell swoop. That means you can expect the staff to shrink around 78% as well. They are losing me as a customer as I've only ever bought EVGA Video cards. 80% just like that with no desire to make AMD or Intel Video cards. I bet if AMD said "Do what you want with our cards" EVGA Would absolutely make AMD Cards. As far as warranties are concerned they are almost next to worthless. When a company drops 78% of its company business, historically they end up being a shell of its former self and are almost guaranteed to fail in the long term.

EVGA will not be exploring relationships with AMD or Intel at this time,.. so we need to wait and see if there is more, or they decide to make new partnerships.

Most likely the company already made EVT samples of EVGA RTX 4090 FTW3 cards, but will not be moving to production.

How much would you pay right now for one of those samples or RTX 4090 Kingpin card,.. would be a collectors dream card,.. even without warranty/support.

i just heard back from evga about the extended warranties.

"We're taking into consideration how all the video cards we have out there under warranty, including extended warranty and lifetime warranty cards. We have pretty strong metrics to estimate what we need to support all warranties, and we are planning to be able to support all warranty lengths as needed. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Regards,
EVGA"

sounds promising, but well see how it plays out.

Re: EVGA Will no longer do business with NVIDIA 2022/09/16 15:02:25 (permalink)
Although I find my 3000 series card the worst EVGA card I have owned and really hoped they will return to the "good ol' days"-like design with the 4000 series, it is really sad to hear this news. Partnering with AMD (or even with Intel) would be huge, but looks like it is off the table. At least in near future.

Hopefully it will work out well for all the employees (including Kingpin).

Now I need to find a new brand for myself to trust, when it comes to GPUs.
