I have been thinking of doing a push/pull set up just for kicks but i am unsure of the best way to go about this with my current rad.

Rad- XSPC EX360

Fans - Corsair SP120 High Performance High Static Pressure

I currently have both rads set up as and exhaust so i have a few options -

Both fan sets as exhaust ?
1 set pulls air in/the other set blows air out ?
I don't want both sets as an intake because that would create too much dust

I have a 360 rad mounted externally as well so i don't see push/pull on that rad benefiting me too much since its expose to much cooler air.

And if the difference is potential only a few C i wont even bother.

After tearing down my loop due to Primochill Plasticizer issues i ordered a few items to start fresh and also add a little performance in the process perhaps!

XSPC RS120 Compact High Performance Radiator - UV Blue

I am going to mount this to the rear exhaust location mostly to add pop and maybe a tad more performance.

XSPC UV Green Tubing

Hopefully no plasticizer issues this time around.

I am removing my Corsair individual sleeved psu cables and doing all custom UV Green sleeved extensions for PCI E cables X4,8 pin CPU,24 pin Mobo power.

I am also switching out my XSPC 680 Razor water blocks to this new design for added looks and performance -

I will update the thread next week.

I also gutted the hot swap sata board and have plans to mount the pump sideways there. It will free up some room so the pump is not sitting on top of the mid panel 140mm fan location. I have plans to maybe put a 140mm/120mm rad there with a fan so i needed the room.

Does this look silly or am i on the right track here ?

whats up with people and the 90° elbow flow killers when they aren't required?

Can't wait to get my 800D and XSPC kit soon.  LOVE 800D's.  top 5 Best production case for sure.  CAn't beat price/features.

Fractal makes nice cases but nothing quite big enough.  I thought about doing a mini-itx gaming rig , but thats another story.

Keep us posted!

Where ever i put 90 degree rotary fittings they where needed and everything has performed well so the flow seems fine.

I love this case so i agree its 1 of the best designs over the past few years. I was going to get a Caselabs MH10 recently but i would rather push this case to it's max first.

I tried using industrial strength double sided Velcro to mount the pump to the hot swap HD bay but it's not strong enough -

I will be using this mount to do it instead.

This will let me hard mount it to the hot swap hd bay and also hard mount the pump in mid air directly to it.

bust out that drillbit and use mounting brackets and some nice looking screws :)

you wouldn't want to have it being held only by tape/velcro with the vibration the pump produces anyways.

maybe something soft like rubber or mounting tape in between the bracket and mounting service to insulate the vibrations though.

Re:Corsair 800D Water Cooling Build Thread 2012/09/27 12:51:10 (permalink)
While i have the loop broken down i am trying to make improvements where i can even though they are not needed.

I have just enough room to add a 480 rad mounted to the rear of the case where a XSPC multiport currently resides. I have to go with another multiport so i have ports on top of the rad for a smooth transition in to the case mounted pre drilled grommet holes as shown here -

I found a great rad for this purpose but the problem is it uses a M3 screw pitch where my Swiftech radbox and current XSPC 360 rad uses a 6/32 pitch -

http://www.performance-pc...&products_id=33371

Would i have to re thread the M3 threads to a 6/32 or can i get away with using the 6/32 screws with a M3 pitch ?

I am hoping that bracket i posted works out well since i don't want to mess with the case 2 much. I like to keep things as oem as possible but still add something unique to the design.

I will report back when the bracket arrives.

A few more items arrived today -

I am having trouble mounting the rad since the 6/32 screws my Swifttech radbox uses are slightly thinner then pitch the rad uses. This is def an issue so i will have to troubleshoot tonight where i want t go from here. I flushed the rad already and while shaking it i can here something loose in there that won't come out so that has me hesitate to even use it.

Here is the final break down of what i have planned so i can at least say i am done for at least 6 months lol -

I will be returning the 120mm UV Blue rad i just received and will be replacing it with a XSPC EX120mm rad -

.
(UN Designs 3G Pump Bracket (for Laing D4/D5 pump) V2 - So i can mount the pump sideways.

(UN)Designs Pump Z3-Bracket (for Laing D4/D5/DDC Pumps) & 140mm Fans - Deep Blue

Bitspower Flow Indicator (BP-FI-CLBKMBK) - Clear/Black/Matte Black

Bitspower UV Mesh Radguard 360 (3 x 120mm) UV Green - I will mount this on the internal 360 rad to add some pop and also help keep the dust levels down.

Bitspower UV Mesh Radguard 120 (1 x 120mm) - UV Green

Mod/Smart Dual LED - Pre-wired with 4-Pin Connector - 3mm - Blue - I will have 3 of these sleeved in UV green for the XSPC Raystorm block replacing the black sleeving i have there now.

Mayhems X1 UV Green Concentrate - 250ml

Danger Den Premium Tube Cutter

Bitspower Single Luxury Tube Clamp LTC7 For Tube OD 3/4in. - Black X4

BitFenix 3-pin to 3 x 3-pin Fan Adapter Cable - 60cm - Black Sleeve X2

24 pin power MOBO,8 pin power CPU,6 pin PCIe X4 - I am having them all sleeved in UV green and the connecters themselves are also being replaced with UV green counterparts.

The entire point of everything i have done with this build is to have a powerful and visualizing appealing PC and i am confident when i am done i would have accomplished this.

I love the flat black finishes on the fittings. You guys spend money on your PC rigs like I do on my car...I need to make more money, so I can do both.

I love the flat black finishes on the fittings. You guys spend money on your PC rigs like I do on my car...I need to make more money, so I can do both.

Me 2 and it gives off a dark and sinister look which is what i wanted.

LOL Ive spent a ton of money on my car 2 but i have slowly gown bored of that and just want to move on to 4 door luxury now.

Hey man nice job
Why cant you place your pump in the bottm with the PSU Cables and run tubing out thru the already pre-cut holes int eh mid plate?
Thats how i had mine.

Thanks I appreciate it from a fellow 800D owner.

As far as the pump i have a few reasons and i will explain why -

1.I didn't want to hide the pump esp after visual modding it the way i did so i felt it was best to figure out another clean way to mount it.
2. I have a custom PSU chamber cover coming so that would have completely blocked the pump and tubing from view anyway lol -

3. I have 2 brackets coming that will allow me to mount the pump above the mid panel in a clean fashion that i think you will like.

I have ditched the idea of mounting the pump sideways to the hot swap drive bay and will be going with this combination -

(UN)Designs Pump Z3-Bracket (for Laing D4/D5/DDC Pumps) & 140mm Fans -

I will mount this to the mid panel 140mm fan location.

(UN)Designs 3G Pump Bracket (for Laing D4/D5 pump) V2 -

I will then mount this to the top of the Z3 bracket and by doing this i leave some room for the 140mm fan below to move air. I wanted the pump to be mounted in mid air anyway so this after much researching is the best route to do this.

How's everything fit into that 800D? I was thinking 'bout getting one.
