Hi everyone,
I’ve been troubleshooting a major issue with my old EVGA RTX 2070 GPU and could really use your help.
Here’s what’s happening:
When I boot my PC, the GPU fans spin as expected.
As soon as Windows loads, the fans stop spinning, and stats show:
GPU PWR: Always 0W
GPU FAN: Always 0 RPM
When I start a game, the GPU throttles hard and then crashes.
After a restart, the fans spin again, and I can play games, but the stats still show 0W and 0 RPM.
I’ve reinstalled Windows, replugged all GPU cables (fans and the sensor cable), and tried multiple overclocking and monitoring tools, but none of them detect the GPU fans.
My next idea is to bypass the GPU’s fan control completely by connecting the fans directly to my motherboard using an adapter, so they run at full throttle all the time.
However, I’ve had no luck finding the right adapter. I’ve purchased the wrong ones twice now. Based on my research, I think I need a mini 4-pin PH2.0 male to standard 4-pin PWM fan adapter, but I can’t seem to confirm this for sure.
Here’s the fan I’m working with (connector size shown in the link):

If anyone has experience with this or can recommend the exact adapter I need, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for your help!
