So I asked them specifically about the backordered email that some people got (I never received anything besides the confirmation email) a few hours or days after their order and this was the response:
“Hi (customer),
Thank you for your inquiry on the status of your pre order.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not providing us with an ETA of when to expect this item.
At this point, the order is open and will ship as soon as it arrives.
Thank you for shopping with us we appreciate your business.

Might just be a generic response, but I read it as people who did not receive the back ordered email are likely going to be in the first batch whenever that is. I imagine they’re expecting x amount over the next 3 or so months and x amount in the first shipment.
If anyone who got that back ordered email wants to ask a similar question we might be able to determine it for sure.

Well ****, there goes that idea. Did anyone else not get a backordered email after the confirmation?
From what I understand though there was two windows to order. The 17th and 18th. The ftw3 was only available in the second, so if you ordered that card and didn’t get a back ordered email I still think there’s a good shot that we’ll be in the first batch (probably in December at this rate lol).

It still says back ordered. From what I understand though the back ordered emails contained a second order number or back order number, which is obviously pretty important so I doubt it’s a glitch that I didn’t get one. I can’t say for sure but it’s likely I placed my order for the ftw3 ultra within 10-15 minutes of the preorders going up. Edit: I also got an “unboxing” email on Monday, from what I’ve read in the thread only one other person got that. Edit 2: It’s entirely possible I’m making connections that aren’t there, I’m just trying to make myself feel better lol

Hopefully Adorama gives a better estimate than what I got from B&H and Provantage. B&H said late November, Provantage said December :(
I'm thinking about doing step up, but at this point, I'd probably not get step up card until December too.

Big RIP for me then, my 1080ti decided to die about a week before launch. ASUS RMA process is a blackhole, which is why I am trying to switch to EVGA. Feels like I will be without a GPU for a long time.

I would honestly recommend grabbing one of the 20 series from EVGA and entering into the step up program. I really don’t see 3080s being readily available until November, if not later. At least with the step up you’ll have a good GPU until EVGA gets to your place in line.

Same, I had the full amount as a pending charge but it seems they dropped it earlier today at some point. My heart says early October, my brain says we’ll be lucky to get these by Cyberpunk lol

That's just too funny why because I noticed the same thing on my credit card bothered me so much I actually called my credit card company they assured me that it's still there is just been long enough that it wasn't showing check your credit card company the dollar is still on there

Funny that I brought the charge drop, because I have an experience that I just remembered that might shed some light.
I bought ammo for my handgun from basspro.com back in the first week April. I was charged the whole amount and the charge dropped off after 7 days. I was concerned so I called bass pro and they said they drop the charge and charge again 1-2 business days later to ensure that the credit card is still valid and able to take the charge once the product comes in stock and is shipped to my local store.
So after 1 day I was charged again the whole amount. 7 days later it dropped, and I was charged again a business day later.
I checked everyday and this went on for more than 3 months. One day the charge dropped after 3 days. I got a bit confused but didn't have a chance to call. A day later it was charged again and about half a day later I got the confirmation e-mail that my order was shipping to my local store.
Not saying that this is what's happening, but there is a possibility that this might be the same procedure. My order did go through on Adorama on the 18th, and today is the 25th... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Honestly with the "Attack of Bots" episode going on, it might be the best way for Evga to make sure cards go to their customers instead of scalpers. If it comes sooner great, if not we just have to be patient. Hang in there gents.

I have a strong grip that's why buying a GPU for twice the price from a scammer is not any where close to a thought process in my brain. You do what you want with your money but remember the next time you go to upgrade on release day again that you are part of the problem you are having now. That's if you do by from scalpers, your looking at short term solutions to a long term problem. Your better off buying a 2070 from EVGA having overnight shipped then getting on the step up. That way you save around 700 dollars and you don't feed the problem.

If there was any hope at all that step up orders would be filled any faster than this backorder I would. lol This entire launch is filled with everyone pointing the finger at someone else saying "Uhhhh...I dunno." "No ETA." "Nvidia won't let us blah blah blah." "Nvidia did that." No one will just tell us as customers anything other than "more are coming"...which couldn't possibly be more vague.
