I still don't understand the mindset of people like you making comments like that in here. Why? You have absolutely nothing to lose. You don't get charged until it ships. If you find a card elsewhere before it does ship, so be it. Cancel the back order. You at least have a card on order - which is more than can be said for trying to get one anywhere else on the internet.

Soon after the Elite Member drop on the 3090s a bunch of randos started posting in this thread with little/nothing to contribute. Everyone is trying to get their 100 posts, including themlharris. I really wish they would remove that option to get Elite status, atleast until next year. None of these people posting to get to 100 count deserve it.

I missed it also. I had some NVME drives come in and the drops happened when I was doing the install. I'm just going to ride my backorder so my bank account can recuperate since this is the last card I need.

How are people actually getting estimates from them when every single person in here that has asked got the generic "the manufacturer can't give an eta" email response?
I'd assume the retailers are guessing based on previous launches and extrapolate that based on the sanitary situation happening on 2020 it will be a bit more longer than how it was the previous years. Plus if cards come before, then customers will be happier since they thought it was supposed to arrive in november.

Lots of us were able to order...how long will they take to ship? Pfft...who knows. Now they're closed all week. Which is insane to me. Don't know if they keep a skeleton crew there to at least accept shipments of inventory or what.

I'm backordered on B&H for a 3080. They estimate 11/20, but I'm really not holding out any hope. With how sporadic stock seems to be, I don't know how any etailer taking backorders can give any kind of an accurate estimate.

The 3080s are still on adorama’s website, you just can’t preorder them anymore. Same it’s been since they closed the second preorder window on the 18th. Plus they aren’t the only vendor that took preorders/backorders on partner boards after the FE launched.
If there really was a problem with nvidia or evga I’m sure adorama would have canceled the orders by now.

I'm on the verge of canceling my 3080 FTW3 preorder, probably tomorrow. Will wait it out for a 3080 Strix OC or a 3080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid.

From the reviews and everything I've read so far, it's literally the only 3080 card worth a darn. High power limit and clocks well. Also surface mount VRM caps and full ceramics on the back. Everything points to Ampere having trouble with pulling too much power at higher vcore, so it seems critical to have a card that can get high clocks on moderate voltages, since you can't whack high voltage into them to get them stable.

Why would they randomly cancel now when they haven't hinted a peep about cancelling since we all back ordered the day after launch nearly a month ago now?

Adorama is in Brooklyn so that definitely lines up. Did you see that on your order page or where?
Also adorama hasn’t been on holiday since release, you really think nvidia and the other board partners are going to wait a month to stop them? There’s a direct link on the evga site to adorama, not like they have no idea they exist.
