I think it’s going to take a long time to get it from anyone period. With all the bots and people willing to sit around for literally hours everyday f5ing multiple tabs, anyone not doing those things is basically out of luck.

I'm going to laugh if it turns out the delay is from them swaping out capacitors on the back of the cards at EVGA HQ.
What exactly would be so funny about that?
Clearly you've never done any surface mount soldering. Edit: I was right, they had to swap out the caps, causing the delay. Though I was thinking they would be doing it stateside, it sounds like they did it at the factory.

If AMD would have played its cards right it would have made an announcement already with a delayed launch to have ample supply. After how big green has treated us making it not possible to have Pre orders and fighting bots all day it would be nice to have team red step up and be the people’s card.

I'll pay $1,500 on eBay before waiting for November. But that's just me...
Don't do it, it'll just encourage more scalpers.
I currently have no GPU. I'm not going to wait around for months with no PC. lol
Bummer man, as others have suggested it's probably better and cheaper get a used RTX 2080 and wait for the RTX 3080. Sell the 2080 when your 3080 arrives and still end up MUCH cheaper than getting a 3080 from a scalper. I mean it's your money so do with it as you please, but I think not supporting scalpers goes a long way for future launches to deter those scumbags. Time is on our side, the scalpers can go burn in hell as far as I care.

More sites should allow back-ordering so we can at least get in the queue and have an idea on when stuff will ship rather than this "Scan and hope" method.

Had $1 pending as well that is now gone. If I see a strix available I will probably grab that if I don't have a FTW3. I would like to go FTW3 though so I can add the hybrid kit later... or step up to it.

Yea I’m in the same boat, I’ve had probably 5-6 times in the last 7 days where I’ve had a card in my cart but couldn’t complete check out. My point was more that people are going to be waiting a while either way, so if you have an option for step up or a back order its definitely worth it, even if it’s just a back up.

I’m actually happy they delayed the launch to fix the cap issue, I would have been massively disappointed to buy their flagship card and then be forced to undervolt it or lower the clocks right out of the box.

I spoke to EVGA cust support today.
The guy said bots weren't the real issue.
The demand for these cards is unprecedented.
He said they had notification lists for each of the RTX 3000 series products at +50,000.
Even the notification engine is having probs keeping up.
And then, when the first 1,000 or so notifications have been sent, customers are jamming it into their shopping cart, and that's bringing down the app servers. This demand is so much bigger than ever before, it's the same issue on the other buying sites.
I imagine Amazon is the only system that can keep up with the demand since it's so easy for them to add servers.

The guy said they're releasing in chunks of a hundred or so at a time. External "insider" articles said that EVGA would be releasing "thousands" this week (9/20-9/27), but even then, there are already 50,000+ folks on each notification queue. He said it'll take 2-3 months for the demand to settle.
