Ceramique is outdated, frostbite is the new and better cold paste.

"How would your test results change if you had them actually mounted with pressure?"

The AS5 will take the lead, I'm sure =)

Hey Chillernr1, with your Boreas set up, did you increase the voltage going to the TEC's or are they still at 12v?

still at 12v, but changed some of the tec plates to a 75w version.
tec plates that didn't look good in my opinion are chnaged, almost 1 tec plate of 3 under each block is changed.

changed the fans for ultra kaze 3000rpm, and other paste on tec's.

What type of coolant to you use with your Boreas unit? Do you have any radiators hooked up to your loop as well?

 ethylene glycol (odorless,colorless 100%pure) mixed with H²O,  mixed  = 15% / 85% .

My own mixture.

no extra rads hooked up.

Just a boreas, freezone elite and a freezone V1 in the same loop full full cover block on mobo and two cpu blocks

Did some machining of the original block:

Didn't think I could do an outside profile of 1" thick of solid copper.  My machine just impressed me.

Re:6x6x1 TEC Block (CNC action) Wednesday, March 14, 2012 1:50 PM (permalink)
Some updated pics:

The original block on the far left, Delrin block, protoype Garolite material, and another Delrin Block

Garolite seems to be much stiffer, and more comparable to fiberglass.  Still for the function required any material will work

Edging the original block:

Look on the left side of the block.  This shows the boundary between the top 1/4" thick plate, and the main block.  You can see how large the gaps were that I machined away.

A view of it standing up:

The surface was machined.  Its not pretty by any means, but it is flat - and that is the desired outcome.

and finally coated:

Again, pointless since this block is going to be buried under insulation, but it makes for nice pictures :)

This will be updated soon, my t-balancer that was controlling the SSR literally caught fire the other day from a miss calculation by accident so I need to replace that. Sorry!
