I think the launch will be quite okay if you're an elite member, as it's 24h before the real launch. And it's not that easy to become one.
Try to get Elite status before the release.

If you bought an eligible EVGA product you get Elite access though?

I don't think that just an elite membership is enough to get 3080ti. this is going to be an amazing map. If a good msrp is set (up to $ 1000 according to the latest leaks) - the queue will be similar to 3080, only even worse.

Here's hoping anyone who wants one will get one, but more likely bots will bot and scalpers will scalp.

I have a 1080. It's apparently too old of a product I guess. I have it registered too.

you can see if you have the right to become a member of the elite here - https://www.evga.com/member/elite/
as far as I understand, the 10 series GPU also gives you this right.

As long as you bought something with warranty you should be fine.

The queue is the most possible way to get one card.

possibly... but nothing has been yet confirmed by evga. I would not be surprised if on the release day we find out that they will not honor elite membership for the sale of 3080ti.
Stop blowing up promises that so far have not even been confirmed - it is all speculation at this point.

These cards may be a bit more buyable because they should have a mining limiter.. theoretically

this limiter is just words. a few weeks after the start of sales, it will be hacked, and the 3080ti will produce 100+mh/s.
therefore, if we fail to join the queue for 3080ti within the first 30 minutes after launch, most likely, we will never get them again)

The only first batch of 3080Tis would have only SW limiter , which is theoretically possible to hack , but all Vendors are shipping  ALL the 3000s  ( except 3090 ) with HW+SW limiter that is impossible to bypass. Hardware ID that was burned into the chip-set is married to SW ID , so good luck to hack it .
As per forums , Gen 2 3070 gets only 20Mh/s on Etherium .

Hey all interested in a 3080Ti but must admit I'm more interested in the 3070Ti as it hits the sweet spot in pricing to me.

I'm looking to run VR on either a Pimax 5K XR, Vive Pro, HTC Vive or an Odyssey Plus.  Yeah I know wide variety as I'm trying to make my mind up but it has to be OLED and I don't want Facebook.  I also want to play flat screen games with Raytracing on and possibly HDR plus 4K.  I'm basically coming from one graphics card that could run DMC4 well(980M) with a 1st gen. i7 or 9 or a 512 GB. GPU which was a Ti with a pre-Ryzen AMD.
As you can see I definitely need to upgrade and would like something nice, affordable and competent for a GPU.
I hope everyone here(that is not a bot obviously) gets in the que to buy.  Sony partially helped set me on this path with the cbomb on the PS5.

I thought the bump up to 6X would be good enough but the RAM is too insufficient here?  I guess you're right if I'm running "Cyberpunk 2077" it would eat it alive and "Medium" runs dual screens.  I suppose I can see what you mean thinking of RE2, 3 and 7.  SMT Nocturne and SMTV I doubt would be problems but I see your point.
edit:  So then is this a climb even for the 3080Ti then?

Well if you are fine running games at medium to get a stable 60fps then 3070ti will be fine.
The thing with the 3080ti is that it is a bit more future proof and has 12gb vram. For someone with a 3440x1440 monitor with the aim of maxing out CP77 I cannot go any lower than an 3080.

Point taken, can you imagine what the bite will be when we get VR games with graphical fidelity comparable to CP77 with those features?  Or even a Fatal Frame remake done well?

Well at this stage I would actually be very interested in a Witcher 3 first person VR. They are already releasing an enhanced version of it with upgraded textures... would look so nice in a vr headset.
Yeah, with the photo realism of CP77, VR is certainly a tempting investment... I'm sure that CDPR will bring it at some point. Hope the 5000 series gpu's are out by then also ;)

I wonder how the VR version of "Sennua's Sacrifice" compares graphically to the flat screen esp. since it was a flat screen primary.  I also wonder if the PC got the short end graphically for VR with "Ace Combat" because of optimizing for PS4.

The 3070Ti is the same as the 3070 except that 8 GB. of RAM is DDR6X instead of DDR6.

It would definitely not be faster than the 3080. But it should fall somewhere between the 3080 and 3070 in performance. That's provided the 3070ti exists.

Yes, that is right. You can become an Elite Member when you post 100 meaningful contributions. I will be competing with you to get a 3080Ti...!

I'm not too hopeful about the elite thing, other than 24 hours there are no other details about it yet. I don't know whether 24 hrs means you get to join the queue early or you have a chance at getting the card early. And I have not idea what they're going to do about bots. I'm kind of annoyed that the 900 series don't count because the 970 was the last card I bought from EVGA.

So I read a little more carefully into their wording and it seems that when the 3080 Ti drops, everyone who has elite membership will be able to either purchase the card if they are fast enough or enter in the queue if they miss the purchase. So it seems like with the elite membership you at least have a chance of getting the card in the first few weeks.

I cant wait to see the benchmarks of the card compared to the 3090.
