Having not done this before, I haven’t been quite sure what are the normal donations. I might have something up my sleeve at some point. Just gotta decide on something.

Cool GTX
Xavier Zepherious

I might get lucky and my friend gets his rtx3080(and I install it) and I get it for awhile during the contest - but most likely it will not be the case
he's like 500 miles away from where I live (tech incompetent - so i do the install)

No you should not do that, the Rules state you Must Own the hardware you use in the contest

Contest Rules

Eligible Hardware:
  • Any hardware you fold on for the contest must be personally owned by you.
  • Adding additional hardware that you own (especially if you will fold on it full time) is both permitted and encouraged.

ya

i was first originally trying to buy the card for him for the last month(along with mine a 3090 gaming ultra) - which would make it mine before it is his
i did build his computer -i purchased parts and built it and then he repaid me...i am trying to buy the card - but seeing the difficulties... i told him to backorder
technically it's not paid or ordered until the company gets one so if i find one i buy and then he can drop the backorder - then it's mine before it is his

however like i said i won't see him
he's 500 miles away - and won't be down until the weather changes - hes up north - any farther north he will be in the northwest territories and in the artic circle
barring good weather and he gets a  card or i find one... or some real emergency -he 's in no rush to come down

i do live in canada - lots of snow here - had drifts has high as the roof of my house a few weeks ago

now does this rule apply to the other half in my household too because i have a 2070 as well there...actually two of them - however one needs to bee RMA'd due to mem errors - it's downclocked for now... its a gigabyte card
and would that also apply against the kids computers as well( you did buy them - you pay to maintain them but they are the kids rigs - not yours- you did gift them....like for birthdays xmas... so they are not yours anymore)?

i am also not counting the AMD cards we have here - because  like well we don't bother folding on them or use them much

wouldn't the rule work better if it said hardware in your possession and in your household - because possession is technically owned by you
if someone gives or gifts you something  it becomes yours until you chose to return it which you may not do
i can see barring other people from other houses and locations (like getting 20 school computers or work computers to fold for you)to fold for you
what if you owned those 20 work computers and you are a biz?

It can be anything you would like to gift. Games, gift cards[E or other], any hardware or peripherals would be good. Some donate GPU, CPU, w/e you. Thanks for donating.

Many be,

Mostly to stop people from Borrowing or Renting sever space & getting everyone they know to use their Folding info

I would think "marital property" is fine as long as you declare that PPD upfront ...........  it is supposed to be a Folding Contest & not a sandbag contest

The organizers put in Huge effort - to Balance the Teams --> all based on declared PPD

I will be in, but I have to figure out what my PPD will be.  I will be home in about a week, and should be able to test my system for 4 days prior to the start of the challenge.

Nice!!!! I will be running 3 rigs, one with the 1080 ti ftw, one with the 2080 ti ftw and just last week got my 3090 ti ftw. I currently get a total of a little over 13 million a day with no overclocks. It's been in the 20s and 30s at night in the Tacoma area and my home stays a toasty 72 degrees with the heat off lol. It also stays at 77 when the temps are above 50 lol, however my electric bill is screaming high as I have been running 24/7 since covid hit.

It should be a good run for sure, good thing the wife doesn't pay the power bill she would just come unplug me ......well 2 of me unplugged as the 3rd machine is hers so of course the 1080 would still be running

I signed up too, but I'm not the power house I was.  I only signed up with the 1 card I have now, I don't know if I'd have the second card by the 20th.  If I get the second card before the 20th I will update my PPD.

So far it looks like it will be Eastern and Central vs Mountain, Pacific and Other  with pretty even scores.

Alright, I know I can research, but I am still going to ask.

3090 ppd?
3080 ppd?

Will run strictly advanced flags since they seem to still be getting work units.

I am currently out of state, so I can not test the 3080 or 3090 right now to gauge my PPD.

Glad we are able to have it this year, thanks to Troy and Drougnor. A big thank you to our folders should be included.

Good to see everyone! Get your equipment dusted and ready to rock. Not sure if there has been a point adjustment recently, I am running a million PPD down with same pair of GPU's. Was doing a bit over 5 million on a 2080 thuper and a 1080ti. Not a big deal if it happened/s either way.

Here's a newer chart Scarlet.

Where/how do I update my PPD?  I didn't think I was going to get my second rig up and running because the part said "estimated delivery was dec 20th."  But it came in today, and it's up and running make my PPD jump from 650k to 1.7 - 1.95 million roughly.

Depending on actual production, I am looking at around 18mil ppd, approximately, if all my hardware is here in time and works flawlessly.
