Once upon a time in a TZC not so long ago we pooled our resources to give away 5 or so brand new 1000 GPUs to our folders and EVGA was nice enough to set a few aside for us at a time when supply was similarly very limited.

Hmm, anyway EVGA can bump me up in the queue for the 3080 Hybrid? lol

I read the rules and it says I can't use equipment that doesn't belong to me, but can I donate one of SmookinJoe's rigs as a gift to anyone but SmookinJoe? I'll let the winner choose which they want

Folks, get a few WUs folded for TeamEVGA ASAP!!  There are three names not showing up at ALL on the EVGA listings as produced by my system and I can NOT add you into the contest unless you're already making numbers!

Remember what da RULEZ say - "You must fold under your own folding name for team 111065."

Thanks!

*evil grin* Oh, no, this is all MINE - After all, you can't participate if you can't be tracked.  It's up to them to ensure they can/will be tracked.

I don't hard ass on a lot, ultimately, but I just simply can't take the time to adjust the charts like I used to when there's late entries/ numbers not showing up until AFTER the start.  It's not DIFFICULT to fix, but it IS annoying as it cascades a bunch of errors until both troy8d and myself get a chance to manually realign our google sheet.

Re: 2020 Time Zone Challenge 2020/12/16 16:56:48 (permalink)
As a first timer, I want to join in on this but the following part concerns me:

  • All folders are expected to fully participate in the contest for its entire duration.
    • If you cannot commit to folding for the entire contest you should not sign up for the contest.

With the holidays coming the next few weeks, I found that I'll only work two days during the contest so some of the time my main computer will be gaming but the other two will be folding 24/7. This makes it difficult to come up with an accurate ppd along with the wide range in output for differing projects. On some, I've seen the 3080's go almost to 7.8 mil/ppd and others are in the 5 mil/ppd.

The past two weeks, I was on vacation so the computers were used very similar to what they will be in the next two weeks. The ppd was in the 12.5-13 mil range but with a full work week this week, it will be 15.5-16 mil. Any idea what I should put for a ppd number or would I be better off not signing up?

Sign up and give it an honest guesstimate. People lose hardware, lose power, sometimes fah breaks and has no work available. Total accuracy is not important but participation is.

Re: 2020 Time Zone Challenge 2020/12/17 06:21:33 (permalink)
So, I have not folded in many moons, but I'm thinking I may start doing it again in my spare time/while I'm asleep & what not, at the very least on my GPU.
Does anyone have a link to an easy/for dumdums guide on how to get it setup again?  I am fairly certain I can get access to my account since it was registered to one of the two primary emails I use, just need an instruction set on what to download/etc, and how to get setup on the team (I know that's just a simple "put your team number here" thing in the software, at least it was back when I folded a lot - used to have 2 rigs with a total of 7 GPUs folding in them constantly back in the day before paying for all that power draw became a concern).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Edit: Okay apparently finding my old account isn't going to be so easy... and to think I had like 2 milly points on there. lol

I SHOULD have all three of my GPU’s by Tuesday, so I went ahead and registered with my best guess PPD for the entire event (cut down to be a daily number of course).
