Vinzant
There were some avaibility in France but for example the hybrid model which should cost around 1500 euros with VAT it cost 2200 instead... And it's on official big retailers not scalper

so called big retailers all over the world are the biggest scalpers.. i hope EVGA sends directly to customers not through some 3rd party reseller, because then we wont get a chance to buy at/near MSRP prices ..

7:58:38 AM PT seems late for the FTW hybrid, but site crashed two-three minutes before opening. Best I could do, hopefully it arrives before September.

Dissapointing, but that is consistent with the whole 30-series launch anyway.

It was indeed disabled for some hours as we aproached the end of the Elite window.

Re: What's going on with EU and 3080's? 2021/06/04 14:16:10 (permalink)
Good Evening, here is the weekly status for the EU queues.
The first of the Teapocalypse has come and gone (there is another next week). Rather than just being the reporter on the war theatre I was part of the fight. It wasn't pleasant, I ended the day tired and thinking to myself what sort of madness had taken me there, unfortunatley the EVGA servers died first and many frustrations happened on the EU side, like we needed more.
The positive thing is that it looks like, based on my US observations, that most bots were kept at bay and humans had a fighting chance, humans also seemed to outnumber bots this time, which may explain why the EVGA site was so protective of the notify forms requiring many many atempts, it was probably a good thing this shortage did not happen at the Turing release.
Another positive thing is that EVGA opened more options for those looking for other cooling solutions, 3 water cards vs 2 air cooled cards, one being the Hydro Cooper. Thank you EVGA, EU customers have been asking for those water cards for months, another step towards leveling both sides of the pond.
Saddly we got a DOA SKU, a 3080 Ti XC3 kept luring users with a purchase button that never worked, it was finally turned off, but the damage had been done.
The week has ended now and it looks like the EU queue was dry on reports. Let us hope EVGA is just stockpilling more GPUs on the weekend so we can have a Teabonanza next week. Other SKU drops are also welcomed and much apreciated.
So here is how the EU Queue stands at the end of this week.

BovineGamer  should comment, but the way I read his table (and how I structure my North American table) that 9/17/2020 timestamp is the last registrant to receive an invite to purchase email for that card. I don't know what date that email was sent to the registrant, but I believe it was in 2021.

Ah I c, I have also ordered and paid for the same card via Dustin.nl for 900 € in January.

But they keep postponing delivery date, now they estimate it at August.

Seems like evga is not producing this card anymore...

3070 XC3 Black definitely does exist in Europe.
Just not via the queue.

So I just watched last LTT live stream addressing stuff like 3080Ti pricing. During that Linus made a point why we may never see a XC3 out in the wild again. Because Nvidias MSRP is so close to what they ask AIBs to pay for a GPU+VRAM set there is nearly no money to make.

Thank you for covering me enewt.
The date on the list is indeed the time when the latest person to buy a card from EVGA hit the notify button. The most recent email for that card was sent on May 25th.

Hello

So I am new to the forum.
I am a bit confused....

So I registered for the waiting list yesterday.
I got the confirmation email. Then I stumbled upon the website and it says that I have to register first before I can get those buy links. (Would it have killed them to put that information next to the notify button or into the notify form or hell even into the confirmation email?) I wounder how many more people just clicked the notify me button and have no clue you need an account.
So I did I registered today. But when I go to my EVGA my notices I do not see them.
So I tested out and registered for a SKU I did not register for before. Again I got the confirmation email but no notification in my notifications.
So am I on the list or not?

Honestly while trying to register for the list yesterday I go all sorts of errors like missing objects close other window although I did not have any other windows open etc.....
Took me a solid hour to even get the notify button working.

If you are in the EU, make sure you registered on eu.evga.com and not evga.com.  If you are in North America, reverse that instruction.  Then check the applicable link below:

Their IT system needs a lot of work.....

Makes me feel really bad giving them my personal information......
Why the hell do they even need data like phone number and address?
They only need that when and if I order. And it should not be stored in their random database.

The EU should get off its ass and enforce GDPR.
Maybe if we start actually enforcing stuff like GDPR and other laws and taxes people might start taking us seriously. And not treat us like second or third rate citizens.
Same goes for the digital single market who ever made an exception for digital content like streaming, movies, music and games should be jailed for corruption. (I am pretty sure it was my fellow countryman the one that headed the commission on the issue.)

BTW if anyone is interested.

gputracker eu
That is the most comprehensive tracker of GPU availability for the EU I have found.
It does not cover the smaller more local shops but it covers a wide variety of European online stores.

The 3080 TI launch was a joke at least everywhere I checked nobody offered it an MSRP even during the first minute of the launch the closest I have seen was a large German electronics store at 1850 Euros the only one I could order was from a Finish store only within Finland for 2099 euros they had about 20 available. Those sold out within 3h.

This is al so strange, I wonder what I should do with my order at dustin.nl. they have my money since Jan (eur 900). And surely they have the obligation on their side to deliver on the transaction, but if EVGA is not making them anymore...they can never deliver.

I do find it strange that I was able to buy xc3's from other Dutch shops like alternate or megekko around April/may. But prices where 2400eur. I mean it seemed there was some level of inventory..

Update:

While I am not getting EVGA updates and Dustin has now postponed the delivery date to august 2021..

Such sad times we are living in..

Re: What's going on with EU and 3080's? 2021/06/06 02:00:27 (permalink)
Sadly no probably they do not have an obligation to deliver.

I had a similar situation I ordered a 3080 way back in September last year from a big German retailer computeruniverse.
They took my money and updated me weekly postponing the delivery.
Then beginning of Jan this year they cancelled all the orders and returned the money.

I was pissed off and raging.
By law yes they have an obligation to deliver. But they claimed and wrote the contract in a way that stated that I only placed an order with them.
The money supposedly was never held by them but their payment provider.
So in theory according to law yes they are obliged to deliver. I even spoke to some German lawyers.
In practice this would be a dead civil suite.
I did write to the customer protection agency. They noted that they got many complains and that yes in theory we are correct but as computeruniverse returned the money they see no benefit in going after them any further.

Yeah.. that is what I am assuming and why I am not calling their cust.support, for sure my order will be cancelled.. I hope the 'system' will just process my order slowly.. quietly.. but eventually :)

The most insulting bit to me was that the card I ordered was in production and one of the ones actually moving in the EU.
The Asus Strix OC.
They themselves sold the bloody card while my order was pending just at a higher price.
They sold me the card for 880 euros.
And were selling the card for 1450 euros in October.

I pointed that out to their customer support and they bluntly stated:
Well we can not sell this at a loss......
I mean FFS when you take somebodies money and sell them something you have an obligation to deliver. The value of those goods that order is not only monetary but also utilitarian. Even in the most simple German law there is a thing called VergleichKauf..... If I can not get a replacement at that price or the thing is out of production they need to provide me with the utilitarian value they sold me. Like for example a replacement item that is identical or at least comparable to what they sold me. But as per usual nobody gives a ****..... Laws are nice in theory but rarely practically enforceable. I have been at both ends of the stick running small businesses and Startups. One thing is consistent the bigger you are the less you care about the laws. And the consumer being the smallest entity ends up carrying the most risk and getting the most abuse. Sure the law states that it should protect the weaker party but it also states that it is not obliged to prosecute(actual crimes are mostly exempted from this) if the cost vs the gain for the society is greatly out of balance. I have been as high up as the EU commissions with proven cartel charges and was told that yes yes you are right but we do not want to upset the local governments.....
But basically what the buyers ended up doing was taking the risk and giving the company a free zero interest loan while we were at it. So they could leverage the money with their suppliers to get in more cards. Probably even sell the cards they got at a lower price for us at a higher price.....

Ok sorry for the rant.

If they just cancelled my order earlier and not January this year I might have bought one for a 1000 or maybe 1200.
By the time they cancelled my order that card went up to around 2000.

Now you are lucky to find a 3080 below 1800 euros in Europe.
