what a joke

almost all cards are freely available from major retailers at this point

and yet all you get from EVGA is a stupid notify email about card conversion after almost 11 month.

Available from major retailers? Where?
I think it's your post that is a joke :)

that doesn't negate my message.

also if you just spend 10 seconds more on the site you would see theres even a few 3080s for 1399€....

but instead picked the most expensive (even it was the 3080TI not the 3080 which this thread is about) one because you just wanted to be a smartass about it.

Ok, but 1399€ is still a lot more than what we bought the step up 3080 FTW3 Ultra for. Mine was 852€ including taxes, so until there's plenty of them available at that price point there is absolutely ZERO incentive for evga to send our cards.

What's the worst that could happen to them ? I cancel my 852€ preorder and they sell the card for 1399€ ? Plus I've already bought a 2070s from them no matter what, that they won't have to restock. If you ask me they're actually hoping that most of us will cancel the step up.

Anyway, the good news is prices are slowly going down and some cards are available at about 2x MSRP when a few months back they were usually not availabe at all, and very rarely available for 3x MSRP. So thing *are* getting better, and I'm starting to think we might get our step up cards eventually.

thats my assumption too.

as long the 3070 cost same or more from retailers than their 3080 they won't send ****.

no idea why americans are excluded from this rule.

What do you expect? Do you think they send out step up cards en masse, when they can sell them for much higher? They currently do the bare minimum. Until the prices drop to msrp that won't change. Step Up was always somewhat slow. People waited 6 months for their 2080Ti. If general GPU demand is that high, the current step up queue is most likely the largest one EVGA ever had.

Moaning and whinging won't change anything, especially as I have explained why the EU queue is running so slow.

Would be interesting to see what percentage are spread amongst what day so we can get an expectation of lead time.

Hi,

one stupid question because my last step-up was the 980 Ti.

Does it make sense to start the process with a RTX3080 FTW3 Ultra that late?

What will the next step be exactly,  a RTX3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra?

Update:
Strange, what for there is a Step-up Button as the Step-up  deadline ended 15.4.2021.
Is this correct?

Yesterday I received my Step 3 e-mail. I'm trading in a 2080 super and have to pay €214 extra. Kinda steep, but I guess I shoudn't complain. However, when I'm trying to pay the amount, the only option is PayPal but weirdly enough I can't use my MasterCard or regular Maestro debit card. I get some vague error message saying they only accept UnionPay cards. Anyone else experience this problem? I have no other payment option, so I'm kinda stuck. Will contact them tomorrow to find out how to proceed.

By the way, I wasn't in the original list. My Step 1 was on 20 Sept at 14:57.

Grats! Coming from a 2070S I'm expecting it to be roughly 350 EUR. Which country? For DE I basically only have the option to pay via bank withdrawal through PayPal as a proxy. It just won't recognize my DE VISA card. I've been wondering if actively putting the money into the PayPal account and then pay with that positive balance was an option. Has anybody tried that? Best of luck.

Almost nine months of waiting in, excitement has moved on to make room for regrets and anxiety. :/ News about New World frying cards, yes mainly 3090's for now, and Igor speaking about the EVGA hardware issue are not helping. igorslab .de/en/evga-geforce-rtx-3090-vs-amazons-new-world-design-caused-evga-problem/

I'm from Belgium. Just got a reply from customer support (in German, thanks Google Translate) and I used the method you suggested: topped up my PayPal account and afterwards I was able to pay using my PayPal credit.

That was surprisingly fast. Let's see how quickly they can turn it around, accepting money, card and all that. Good to know you can pay through the PayPal balance.

Looks like there may finally be a pattern of them advancing 1D4 people to step 2 every 5ish weeks. Is that hope? 😂

For me it happened within one day and I shipped my step up card at the next day via DHL. Recieved the 3080 within 3 days. It would have been 2, but the Thursday inbetween was a holiday.

Don't want to defend the game or EVGA, but if you limit your FPS you shouldn't be affected by the current problem. If you have a Gsync monitor you want to stay within the VRR range anyway.

Doesn't the game have a limiter built in, or am I just too spoiled by Blizzard and alike? Damn even DDO had the limiter 100 years ago. That should generally keep cards from cooking, but from the sounds of it, there's a design flaw with the FTW cards, making the ICX go brrrrr. I plan on using a limiter, if within the game or through drivers anyway, and then there's VRR anyway, generally always do. I can display so and so many frames, limited by the display? Why cause extra heat? So there we go :D

Do you have a time limit for sending the card after step 2?
With the holidays, I will be absent for 4 weeks, I am almost afraid of seeing step 2 pass.

I thought it was 7 days, but it turns out you have 7 days to pay the difference and get to the next step.
Then it's 14 business days from the time your payment's been verified. Funny how they distinguish between 7 days for payment and 14 business days to send the card in.

After that pain of a waiting period I reckon you can send them an email, explain the holiday situation and get some wiggle room.
How are you supposed to plan around the Step-Up procedure? O.o I'm by now pretty sure there are dice involved.

I expect nothing because its already approaching the 1 year mark since the card launched as its getting rudiculous now.

I had EVGA in high regard up until the Ampere launch I will think twice before buy any EVGA product in the future as European.

EVGA got way too many weaponised fanboys to take critism at face value.

As if burned and bricked gpus each generation mostly from evga is a coincidence.

I still remember the Pascal fiasco and now with New World with Ampere.

@Bootywizard

The USA queue and EU queues are from 2 different sources so the wait times will have zero parity with each other.

and why should this be something I should be okay with ?

then they should allocate more cards to that source or whatever I don't care how.

I shouldn't sacrifice my time as paying customer.

The argument that many people make like EVGA is the only one who makes this possible is a set up facade to be in good light undeserved. Anyone who think this voluntary service by EVGA doesn't drive or boost sales is very naive. Everything that is made was with profitability in mind. First of all EVGA and many other other companies are profit driven. Profit first everything else on bottom.

EVGA sends absrudly low amount of cards to EU its literally criminal. For one european citizen atleast 15 americans get their card. Ratio 1 to 15. cant make this **** up.

I have 2 orders for RTX 3080 FTW3 and RTX 3080 XC3 in from amazon since 3 months and even amazon doesn't get any EVGA cards nor amazon.fr or amazon.es

it wasn't even a queue or a preorder!

easy to belittle the major issues as someone who already got a desired card. I bet you were livid aswell.

not to mention offering me a worse product like LHR which fairly they can do as business contract between me and them is not legally binding or enforceable.

regardless as is considered a dick move to all the people who were/are waiting the most. I bet a huge amount of people bought or preordered a worse EVGA card with step up in mind including me.

That I should then buy something I don't want, because I waited (and still do) so long without any ETA just to get ****ed
