Yep, I bought a 2070 and entered Stepup on the 5th October.
7 months and still no change and still on step 1.
Feels like the “Never Ending Story”

I'm November so RIP me lol.

It's only going to get worse now thanks to Nvidia. The 3080Ti will cannibalise 3080 parts and given what Nvidia are retailing the Ti for and what the 3rd parties are charging, most bits of hardware will likely be diverted to them.

All about making £££. Nvidia will be regretting the 3080 RRP when they're going to print money off the Ti and its ridiculous price.

Some of the RRPs for 3rd party Ti's seem to be in the £1500+ range. That's just mental. For a 2-10% performance increase over the 3080.

Yeah I'm not too bothered about time, the GPU market is an absolute mess right now with shortages. Gotta give EVGA some props they're still doing this.

But the customs issues with the UK is poor show. Brexit is our fault but EVGA should really be avoiding hammering RMAs with additional custom tax.

Just got my customs tax for the UK.  Its 20% of what I paid for the stepup, plus a fee. Which would be correct even for an RMA since its the difference between what you already paid including VAt and this product. What EVGA should have done is applied for a VAT exemption from Germany since they are exporting the product. It'll be interesting to see if anyone can get the VAT refunded, but I think it would need to be refunded from Germany and not UK which may be difficult.

I get paying on the difference if you have a cost there, I'm OK with that. It's 20% of the RRP of the card I would have an issue with. So as long as that is not happening to people, I've got less of an issue with how EVGA is handling this. Though if they could apply for VAT exemption, full stop, that would obviously be good.

I'm doing a step up where what I paid for my card (2080Ti) is actually more than what I'm swapping for (3080). So this is when I would expect no customs tax as all I'll be covering is shipping.

Yeah I agree. I just double checked mine and i was charged on the value and not on the amount paid.  So I think you definately have a legitmate chance of getting a refund there. You may have to prove you sent them the original card, not hard to do, but seems reasonable.

I’ve curious if you could make the case that since the step up was lodged prior to Brexit it should be exempt. Probably not because payment wasn’t taken.

Well it finally happened, my card has arrived.   Zero customs fees on the way through.   What a struggle that was.

0 customs charges was the little good luck I had on the whole thing.   Realistically EVGA have been great, the silicon shortage is what shafted this all.   Well that and UPS for me.

Enjoy the new card!

My assumption is that somewhere at the point of inport a total breakdown of communication occured between UPS / German Customs / EVGA.

It was only when I started sending daily google translated messages to the UPS customer service team in Germany that things started moving

My card just arrived. Full retail box. The paperwork says it’s a warranty exchange so I’m hoping I may be able to reclaim the customs charge with that.

Thank you for your time. : )

I'm not on the list but since I am on October 1st I can still kinda track where we are with this thread.

Kind of sad USA are on October 1st step up right now and we in Europe are still on September 20th...

But it will come, someday. : )

You might want to get on to the RMA support team to get that checked on.  That's getting on time wise.

I think they change the whole procedure, before we get to the end of the September 2020 list, the 4000 ti series will be released. The question is what EVGA will propose and at what price.

You won't see the 4000 series until at least Q3 2022 imo.

Obviously, and this is precisely the point...almost 1 year has passed since the launch of the 3080 smooths and the list has moved very little or not at all. If we go this far with the launch of the 4000 series in 2022, the list will still be incomplete. And at the production level, will the 3080s still be produced?

"Your product sent in on Standard RMA has been received by our RMA department for processing.

Please allow 1-2 business days for your RMA to process. Once processed, your replacement will be shipped to your shipping address, and a tracking number emailed to you. If there are any issues with the product, you will be contacted with further information."

Originally sent on the 1st June on a 48 hour service, but I'm more than happy they have received the card.

Does anyone know whether there is a similar Google Sheet tracking list for this step up as there is one for EU 3080ti and 3070ti notify queue?
