I have AOC i2757fh. 1080p 60hz game resolution.
I limit fps because without limiting I have stuttering when fps jump from +100 to 70 etc. My CPU not overlocked also.

OK, that makes things a bit more easy to understand.

When playing against others "online" there will -always- be some FPS issues or stuttering.
The point is to make sure its not on your end, you cant do anything about the other guy or server performance.

The spotting overlay should work fine with the proper 60hz Adaptive Vsync setting and provide the best possible stability.

The flip side is your missing out on the performance levels your GTX 680 can provide.
You should certainly consider Overclocking your CPU up to at least 4.0ghz to reduce GPU bottlenecking and improve your in-game performance levels (reduce stuttering)

The choice is your to make.

Personally there is no way I would even want to play BF3 with restricted frames. The game is so much more fun when you have a overwhelming fps performance advantage.

How to enable proper v synch?

NVCP->Manage 3DSettings->ProgramSettings->Battlefield 3 Tab
Change the Vsync setting to "Adaptive" (make NO other changes)
-->Hit the Apply Button

Wow! This is a great guide. I really appreciate it.

I got a EVGA GTX 670 FTW and I mostly play on low everything because I got 120hz monitor and like to squeeze as many fps as I can to stay above100hz most of the time.

I will be changing my Nvidia settings per your suggestions in the first few posts of your guide.

I was wondering what additional tweaking can I do to get the best performance/quality?

Welcome to the EVGA forums

When using a powerful card like a GTX 670 in BF3 running at lower settings can make the game engine CPU bound and actually -drop- your framerates

I suggest that you try the -exact- settings shown below (all of them as posted, dont skip any) for testing

*Remember to SAVE the settings after making the changes, and then restart the game so they can take effect properly

I think you find find the game framerates will go UP -and- the quality will be much better

Thank you for your answer Maniac. I will definitely try these settings after work.

To be honest with you Maniac the reason why I have been turning down everything to low is because there seems to be input lag when I play at those Ultra srttings. The gameplay itself is smooth and I the quality is great but the input lag is nasty.

When I change everything to low, the input reponse increases greatly. Is this related to any specific setting while everything is on Ultra?

Depends, are you using the "ULTRA" preset or auto detect "Ultra"
If so then YES, the preset will use some settings that will greatly effect how the game plays and "feels"

This is why I posted a "CUSTOM" based screenshot of the settings to use for testing.
Use EVERY ONE starting with CUSTOM exactly as shown (dont skip or change any) save settings and restart the game.
then go and test

Thank you very much

Edit: After playing in different maps I have been getting some stuttering.

My settings are as mentioned I am wondering if it is because I got FXAA Enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel (Whish the is the only setting that was not covered in your guide)

The NVCP should be at default
You dont make changes there for BF3, you only make them in-game
Hit the "RESTORE" button in the NVCP and then hit "apply"

Maniac could answer your question much better than me but what I would do is put everything back to defaults. Everything(game settings, overlocks, etc). Then see if you still have the issues, if you do then you are probably looking at a bad Video Card. Run an Artifacts test using EVGA OC Scanner.

What's your Video Card?

You appear to have corruption in the settings file
It matches what I have seen from "early" versions of a third party settings tool
Have you ever used such a 3rd party program to adjust BF3 settings?

If you have, it is important to know what program was used and approx "when"...
"Early" versions of such programs cannot be uninstalled and the BF3 registry changes cannot be reversed

If you have NOT used such a program, then the fix will be quite easy

Please PM me when you are ready to work on this

You are not the first to have this issue with Realmware, it is total junk

The primary issue here is that DICE/EA have patched the game and features
Realmware forces direct value changes on coded entries that are now changed, patched out or modded

we need to get on TS and "try" to fix it..
I know some tricks that can help, but the bottom line is the program cannot be uninstalled.
Either we will be successful at getting BF3 to rebuild a default config folder, or despite our efforts it will be re-corrupted.
Sadly as many Realmware users have found out, once this junk is on your drive.. you are on your own

For now, dont do -anything- and dont try and remove realmware.. we need it, it may have a file that will really help.

Hi Maniacvvv,

I am running 2D Nvidia Surround via 3 Asus 232H  23 inch Monitors @ 5760 x 1080 for Battlefield 3.

What's the best settings for Nvidia control panel and for in-game setting? Can you provide me these setting like you did for all others?  Thanks in advance.

Specs listed below:

Ok, thank you Maniacvvv, I'll try those settings you provided.  For Nvidia Control panel, I should leave everything in Default settings then?

Hi Maniacvvv,

With the settings you provided, I'm getting 85 - 175 fps in Metro 64p servers.

Even though, the fps is not a issue, some servers it's running butter smooth, but some servers I see some choppy screens (the idea of slow motions if you know what I mean), the ping are always 65 - 85,  any idea how that happened?

Your help / insight is much appreciated.

Yeah, server performance can be effected by both the server "quality" and by the performance levels of the players in it.
Your "some are butter smooth" and "some are choppy"....

You asked in the other thread about AO... running surround I suggest AO off, as it is a REAL performance hit.
But bro, just turn it on and see if you like it or not.
If you dont think its worth the FPS hit, turn it off... if you like it leave it on

Having some BF3 issues here.

When I'm killed the screen will go completely black like its lost signal, and takes a good 15secs before the image reappears.

When I select my load out and deploy once again it takes around 15secs or so before my screen would appear.

Thought at 1st it was the monitor (27Q Crossover) so I switched to my good old Asus VH242H and it does it with this one.

Thinking the DVI-D DL has gone bad so I switched out cables to another DVI-D DL and still the issue.

Thinking it might the drivers so went from 310.90 back to 306.97 and the issue is still there.

Didn't do it this morning when i was playing some BF3, I haven't changed any settings or added anything in respects to the hardware.  Just keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't the GPU as I don't want to go through the whole RMA process crap again.

So can anyone help on whats going?
