What's up again guys, I revised my last wallpaper to suit my new rig. I was happy to read all your feedback on my thread and drevangough's thread with wallpapers. So I took another stab at the wallpaper going for a minimal but complex appearance. Plenty of room to breathe in it (for icons/folders), and I made it several shades of gray to make it easy on the eyes instead of a full blown white background. What do you think? Yes agreed, I had to figure out the taste you guys have in wallpapers first. I know some people love dark-futuristic wallpapers and others like simple and clean. I guess that's the challenge of this contest lol. Who knows what the taste of the judges will be like. But I will take my chances on simple / techie, its a much more matured image for EVGA. Is there anything you like/dislike about this new version? Anything that could be added? or should I just leave it alone lol?

rhussian this is really nice man. 10x better than the old one. Love the simple colour scheme too. It almost looks like its pencil shaded. Great work.

@ Ultimatum01 Thanks for the review. I added a wireframe over some areas and drew in some lines in PS at the bottom. Glad you noticed that though, good eye.

Is there any way you can make the E of the parts more prominent? Something that would make it immediately noticeable? Other than that, I think it looks great.

@ Louisville15 I tried a bunch of arrangements to make it more legible as the E from the logo, however it ends up taking away from the overall abstract machine form. Kinda wanted it to feel more machine like than letter form like. Its a bit challenging to rearrange the form since each part was modeled to fit together seamlessly. I could only move the camera around to get another angle, but I dont want to place the camera directly in front of the model like my old version, because it flattens out the perspective and depth. @ seabigbear thanks for passing through, congrats on the gpu u won from the scavengerhunt

@seabigbear looks great on ur desktop. To make it fit in more seamlessly you can try getting the taskbar color dark gray or clear. R-Click desktop > Personalize > Window Color > Slate and frost looks great or just set color intensity to 0 and it will be clear. Your preference though lol, just a suggestion. Thanks for using it.

Yeh, I don't think about it because I all ways autohide the taskbar, I hate that + toolbars I like to see as much of the screen as I can!!!

well that makes a bunch of difference now lol you dont have to really worry about the theme color that much then. I just hate when I have some full screen apps running or doing fullscreen work in 3d / photoshop a hidden taskbar doesn't always pop back up. Its a taskbar /UI focus issue, been around since windows 95, thats why I try to avoid it. Its a good thing win7 has the option to make the taskbar about 30-40% smaller.

I think it would be sweet if the EVGA logo and the text were different highlights of green.
Also maybe if you had the black cable more visible in the "E" letter at different locations. Then changing the black cable color to a light green that emits green light onto the other parts of the grey shaded "E"? That might be cool
If the makes any sense.

Gotcha. I'll see what I can do about the lighting in some areas. I still need to get lighting/transmittance effects figured out in this renderer. So it should be a good challenge for the time I have left.
