Anyone done any runs on the new version of Port Royal? I'm holding off updating after what happened with the last update...
My garbage-tier KPE could use all the help it can get.

Oh okay cool, very good score man. I can't run the ReBAR bios because 520W bios doesn't work on my Kingpin. Stuck using XOC bios which scores lower on ambient in Port Royal. 15,550 is my absolute max no matter the voltage. Gonna sell this Kingpin when I get my 3080Ti, hopefully I can get off this Ryzen platform as well.

Interesting, I'm running a 5800x, and can't for the life of me hit 5ghz in light threaded loads, I apparently have a "Silver" sample which is ok I guess, want to install a 5950x, but atm I'm having a tough situation irl with money and such lol

Silver isn't great but even still, overclocking and benching on the Ryzen platform is kind of annoying, not very fun. You probably have to tweak your PBO & memory settings some more, it takes a lot more trial/error with Ryzen than it does with Intel and Ryzen latency will always be limited by Infinity Fabric. I've pretty much settled on mine, nets me CB R23 scores of 22,640 multi-core and 1671 single-core. If I were you I'd switch to 10900K/KF and save some money, then upgrade to Intel's new platform whenever it drops. That's what I'm going to try to do. At least you seem to have a properly functioning Kingpin, more than I can claim.

After some trial and error with X1 and nothing else (other than a 3900 move to a 5950 because 5900 woes.. meh), I was able to crack 15000. I haven't bothered with tweaking much on my base RAM past XMP and haven't done anything with the 5950 yet other than let it ride. I could push it further, but from an ever day use perspective, does this result seem pretty solid? Personally I wish I'd have gotten a Strix + Optimus block and shunt-modded it. Most seem to be happy with their Kingpins though.

I agree it is a great feature, probably the most important one. I'm just mad my sample behaves strangely, expected more.
My Kingpin is a dud and makes me doubt they actually binned the GPU. The GPU doesn't overclock well compared to the 9 or 10 other 3090 cards I've had experience with. On stock voltage it achieves lower stable overclocks than most of the other 3090's I've owned and the other 3090 cardss I've had access to. The memory starts showing artifacts and causing crashes with a +900 MHz overclock on the VRAM. If the GPU was binned, I'd expect it to be at least a little above average on the max stable OC speed in benchmarks.

One thing I noticed was X1 behaved kind of weird at first. I used to have a 1080ti in my system and had it installed previously. The 520W didn't work for me originally, only XOC. Then I got fully on let's redo the whole damn system, put in a new nvme HD (samsung 980 replacing the older gigabyte one), and reinstalled everything. The ln2 switch then worked and I was able to push my power limit higher. I didn't really see a big difference for how I was pushing my OC, but it did become an option. I was surprised a little because I didn't think software should matter, but for me it seemed to be the issue.

The switch for liquid nitrogen doesn't mean you are using liquid nitrogen. There's a whole other complicated process for all of that which I don't pretend to know much about. Flipping that switch just raises your power limit further for normal users. * Base - XOC - LN2: Goes from something like 100, 112, 120ish. I'm on a different machine. I might edit it to make myself look like I know more than I do later. ;) But yea, if you are using liquid nitrogen.. please pants us.

Cooling was a 280mm radiator submerged in ice and water to cool the GPUs

Ok, so here is a new pr, 15,792. http://www.3dmark.com/pr/1115162 I have a few questions though that I am trying to wrap my head around. I saw this video on youtube where he suggested locking in the voltage and then adding to the core clock, I am just curious what everyone's thoughts on this is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH3FZXvBkiE. Does every GPU have a sweet spot to lock it into and if so whats the best approach to find that when scores can fluctuate so much between runs of the same setting? I have found that if I go above 1075mv my scores start to tank but I am not sure if thats because of other factors. I am starting to mess around with the Classified Tool but do not want to get to crazy without understanding it better. What is the difference between NVVDD and MSVDD? Is there a sweet spot for voltages or as long as your temps are safe do you just go with the more is better approach? As you can see in this photo my GPU clock held steady during the entire benchmark, If I start messing with voltages it jumps all over the place, what causes this?
