I'm curious what delta t everyone is getting with the optimus block. I'm seeing ~11c @ 520w if I remember correctly. I dunno if I shall disassemble the block once more to get better contact. Using KPx paste atm.

Holy sh*t! That is impressive! I know I'm not the best when it comes to proper block mounting but that is a huge difference

Yep, nothing but impressed with the performance of this block. I got a really good mount when I put it together. It helps that I also owned the FTW3 and STRIX blocks and had those on other cards so I had some practice. There is usually a several C difference between a good and bad mount with optimus blocks.

looks like I'll have to redo my mount then... I just checked - sitting at 10.3c delta t when at 500w load.

I think your loop setup will play into your delta too; amount of rads, flow, fan configuration, fan speed, isolated loop/CPU in loop, etc. So deltas will vary. Your mount may be fine depending on your setup. It's hard to make a 1:1 comparison unless the setups are the same.

All valid points, i'm using an open frame case with 1440mm of rad. My flow is not great but not terrible at 185lph. I'll also throw out there that temp sensors read slightly different from card to card along with loop temp sensors. I'm only reading my loop temp off the ac flow meter right now, don't have a second point I'm measuring at to back it up.

What temps are people using to judge the blocks delta? IE GPU Temp, Mem Junction or Hotspot?

Thats what I'm using: GPU1 in PX1 / GPU core Some people use GPU DIE Temp but that's kinda whitewash imo

The wet edges is some sort of oil lubricant. The gasket channel has exposed copper not coated with cerakote.

Great photos and thank you for posting. What are your thoughts on the exposed copper? It definitely looks like they missed some spots when they were coating it. Have you done a leak check? Any other issues? J

Haven’t leak checked it yet. I emailed Optimus. Waiting to hear back from them.

q437637 I see. I guess they are up to near OP5300 now, minus some skipped block. They probably shipped like 50? and like at least 6 people on oc forum and here have some problem. IF that is the case, then thats pretty high failure rate at 6/50. Optimus if u are reading this, do something or u will lose some future customer
Mine is 5300 and no notification yet

I bought a Strix and I'm going to sell my kingpin because of how long it takes to get one of these blocks.

Just look how long it is between #5290 and #5292. At this point, we are not surprised that Optimus is lying again.

With the issues I've had with my block and the slow pace for them to release a fix (not even mentioning the lack of transparency in the process) I'm leaning toward just asking for a refund. I'm not sure I have the trust that their fix will work, and it could be another potential time sink trying to put the block back on and hoping it'll work. For me it really tarnishes them for any future products. I'll keep their CPU block as it works great and after a year or so, no issues, but I don't think I'll be purchasing from them again unless they can turn things around. And these further shipping delays and lack of transparency isn't helping.
