ShawnB420 I'm so glad I had the block installed by them now.
The worst of it isn't the flex and bending issues. They've offered to replace anything that needs replacing, although we're waiting to determine what the cause of some of the issues are. The worst part is all the people online making comments about my install job like I didn't know what I was doing and made a mistake by not following the installation guide. Or if they're not accusing me of not following the guide....being one of those wise guys who says "Oh yeah if it had been me, I wouldn't have just followed the guide. I would have noticed it and this wouldn't have happened to me." Everyone's got an opinion and unfortunately, I get to be on the receiving end of all of them. :P Can't wait to see how yours looks, especially with regard to spacing between the block and displayport connectors. Also curious to see cooling performance to see if they "fixed" the problem by simply not tightening the screws as much and if that would have any impact on contact and thermal conductivity. As for the vertical mount, it's not a mount kit. It's just the LinkUp PCIe 4.0 Riser Cable. This is the link to the Canadian store: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08NM4RD8WI just plugged it into the card, and stuck a piece of rubber tubing underneath it to provide support, since it had probably a 1/3rd of an inch gap from the metal GPU cover that it's sitting on.

Wow, 2x1 in front/top. That is a big case. I have an old 900D in my garage and I thought that was big. That fully loaded 1000D case probably weighs 200lbs fully loaded LOL I have a HC block on my KP with the same riser cable setup in a Define 7. I did the exact same thing with the tubing but I braced the card at the rear so that the block was resting on it rather than putting pressure on the PCIE fins/receiver

Well probably not 200lb but wouldn't be surprised if it's over 100lb. I can't move it myself. I built it over a few days in the kitchen. Then had to carry it upstairs. Even with GPU removed and no liquid in there....couldn't do it. I had to remove the radiator/fan trays and take it up piece by piece. Haha. But now that it's done...especially with the quick disconnects....it's so easy to work with. Took me less than half an hour to swap out motherboard/cpu when I switched to Z690. mizzer My dude! Nice setup! Love the black tubing!
Thank you sir.

Nah no shame or "exposing" at all! It's all out there in plain English (except for misquoting me) Hey... shouldn't you be busy loosening your screws or something?? :P I will say, I'm a little sad knowing my KP block won't have the performance as yours, even unbent, after seeing your setup which is just ridiculous and so over the top with 30 fans and 4 rads, but I'll settle for 10C over ambient hopefully with dual 420 rads. All in good fun though, enjoy your build. I'll be watching to see what Optimus does with your case.

Heh....after getting the block I feel like my loop is inadequate. Btw those 30 fans....are 3000rpm fans. So roughly 180W of fan power. :P But while the block is able to cool the GPU efficiently, it also means loop temperatures are rising faster. So I've been trying to put together a Mo-Ra3 to add in to the loop with a bypass built in for easy disconnect. As for Optimus I'm still waiting to see what they say/do about the DisplayPort situation. What they're saying isn't lining up with what I'm seeing from my pics. Regardless of what they deem to be the issue...if there's been some sort of damage to the backplate that's now preventing the DP connectors from clearing the block...then swapping that out should fix it. But what gets confusing about that is that the ports are touching the main thick block that isn't bent. So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Anyway...I'm more than happy with the performance on the block. And if the mounting issue can be resolved, I couldn't imagine not recommending it to everybody because it is truly superb and easily the best block I've ever owned by a mile.

That's insane man! I won't have anything close to that type of build. You certainly have the ultimate brute force performance setup. I just want mine to be able to game with better temps across the board and keep it near silent. Harder to do now that 12900k is pushing the heat loads we've been seeing. Yeah, keep is all posted about that clearance issue with the dp port. Hopefully a replacement block will solve it. I do feel better after Optimus stated they do indeed have KPs to test with, I'd figure a design flaw would have been detected, but who knows at this juncture.

Do what that one guy on OCN did. Connect your loop to a faucet. Let that be your pump and your cooling sytem. You get super cold water with higher flow. And as a bonus, you'll trigger environmentalists from miles around.

Well I mean when you put it that way…haha. I certainly may have to especially if next gen cards are going to be even more power hungry. Silly me thought 4x Nemesis GTR radiators with push/pull 3000rpm fans would be enough. What kind of delta over ambient are you getting with your water?

LOL. If I didn't have the most hard and corrosive looking water I might consider that. Were you seeing a drop in your GPU clocks after sustained runtime? When I was messing with port royal when I first got my card back in Dec/Jan, I had it set to 2205 mhz but it would throttle down to an average of 2150ish over the run, even with average GPU temp at 37C (as cold as I could get it indoors starting around 19C). I'm iffy about running the 1000W bios as it removes all the protections, but I know that would force the card to keep the demanded clock speed and with this cooling solution it should be safe. Do you use nvidia classified tool or any other tweaks?

Of course. As temperature goes up, clock goes down. If temperature is constant, you should have no throttling unless there are specific voltage/power limits you're hitting, which you can see if you monitor with GPU-Z. As for thermal throttling, the trigger points are around the 30/40/50/60C points where the card is designed to change the clock/voltage. So I'll get a crash for no reason other than the pre-programmed downthrottle if I'm in the 38-40C mark, as well as 49-51C mark. So I discovered a little trick that can help with that a bit that I shared on the RTX 3090 thread on OCN back during the first few months after launch. So right now if you set for example +100MHz to the core and are at 2205 (totally hypothetical numbers) and during the run you drop down to 2190MHz and then to 2175MHz, but you'd like to try to maintain 2205MHz, you can try using Nvidia SMI to set a cap. So you change your core clock boost from +100MHz to +130MHz. So the initial boost would be 2235MHz instead of 2205MHz. But...that itself can cause your card to crash. So then you use Nvidia SMI to set a clock speed cap at 2205MHz. So it'd play out like this: Card is set to 2235MHz -> Nvidia SMI limits it to 2205MHz Card throttles to 2220MHz -> Nvidia SMI limits it to 2205MHz Card throttles to 2205MHz -> Card runs at Nvidia SMI limit of 2205MHz Card throttles to 2190MHz -> Card now runs at 2190MHz as it's below Nvidia SMI cap. So a lot of this is dependent on your voltage and gpu temperature consistency. But within a few throttle points, it can help alleviate some of the software controlled temperature based throttling crashes. As for voltages, yes I definitely am using the Classified tool. If you're playing around with it, make sure to set NVVDD under hardware monitoring in Precision X1 so you can see the actual voltage you're pulling because Kingpin has a lot of vdroop and spikes much higher than your selected voltage. So even though you may have set voltage to 1.2V in the Classified Tool, you may actually be pulling 1.4V. Keep in mind that this trick also changes the voltage lookup table for each frequency. So too much deviation can actually cause instability and crashes. For example, you shouldn't set +210MHz so the card would want to run at 2315MHz but then think it's ok because you've capped it at 2205MHz with Nvidia SMI. The best run I was able to do with my AIO cooler was 2190MHz locked with max temp hitting 42-43C. Stock 520W bios (LN2 dip switch). That involved voltage control through classified tool and nvidia smi trick. It also involved me pasting a 4x liquid cooled ram block to the back of my Kingpin AIO backplate. :P

pclausen Looks like order 5221 shipped yesterday. https://twitter.com/nachocanseco/status/1469255022651359234
Nice to see. I am really wondering if they are just releasing the matte black options first. Gotspeed_2000 has a much earlier order number and he has not receive an email that his has shipped. He did not pick the matte black option.

Yeah, this is starting to get to me watching everyone else who ordered after me get their shipping notification. Why say you are shipping by order number if you are not. This is just another one of those little things that bother me. I'm so close so I guess I have to just wait but it kinda sucks getting your order in early and then watching others after you get their before you do. I am still waiting on my shipping notification.

Block JUST fits horizontally in the Z690 Extreme and I mean just. I haven’t booted up yet to see but it looks like it fits with not a mm to spare. https://imgur.com/a/Z9wTLqm

Congrats on receiving the block. Thanks for sharing the photos. It looks really nice. If it just fits on the Z690 Extreme and it should fit on the Z690 Apex/Hero boards. Hoping that it does boot up! Now if only mine would ship...
