Re: New EVGA Folder Check-IN

Good evening guys! I'm a pharmacy student from Texas that got started folding with the LTT Team. Although I'm not switching entirely for the EVGABucks promotion, I have to admit that that is a strong factor in getting me to switch. Summary of how I got introduced to EVGA and folding: -See JayzTwoCents/GN review and OC the 2080Ti K|NGP|N with LN2 -Tried to upgrade my Zotac 1050Ti to am EVGA 1660Ti XC in my Mini-ITX build last summer before I moved to Pharmacy school but was quickly and harshly taught the rule of making sure card slot widths fit are equally important to making sure the card lengths fit. Eventually went along with an MSI Ventus XS OC 1660Ti because it was the only one that fit in my case in stock at my local Fry's (didn't realize at the time that I had a local Micro Center location in Dallas). -I decided to upgrade my case from the Cooler Master Elite 110 to a Rosewill Cullinan (i.e. Mini-ITX Cube -> ATX Mid-Tower) during Newegg's Black Friday sales. I didn't exactly realize just how empty the case would look like by not upgrading the motherboard along with the case (which I didn't want to do and still don't want to do since I want to squeeze as much life out of the i5-8400 my friend helped me buy for the Mini-ITX build). -While taking a study break for finals, I was introduced to through a reddit thread describing a folding rig. I discussed it with my biochemistry professor and had a good conversation with it as to how results from F@H could impact pharmaceutical research. Began using my rig to fold with LTT's Team. -Got all A's for all of my sleepless nights during finals week. To reward myself I decided to buy (at first) an MSI Ventus XS OC 2080 Super but ultimately "settled" on an EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra (which I registered/deregistered on my account here...noted the presence of the EVGA team but didn't notice the EVGABucks promotion tied to it). This would kickstart a cycle of purchases and returns (because the 2x 5700 XTs I tried were just absolutely unstable in my system and the Zotac 2070 Super Twin Fan's aesthetics simply didn't line up with me) which finally ended with an open box EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra for $521 the Dallas Micro Center on 1/6/20. -Present Day, finding out about the EVGABucks promotion and now I'm here typing this whole odyssey out lol

ipkha EVGA counts points your username contributes to the team. All you need to do is put the evga team number in your settings. And make sure in your evga forum profile that the folding name is entered. All you want to do is switch team numbers to bounce between evga and coin teams. Your username and passkey can stay the same.
Problem is the Curecoin team used a different user name which included your wallet address so that would create a different username and require a different passcode... I will be attempting to start up another machine with another team this weekend and I will see what their username requirements are. I have some limits as to my abilities so things can take longer to accomplish. Take Care ipkha Joe

My understanding is the username makes no difference. Your passkey is based on your email address and Not the username used in the Client Software. You will have different Total Numbers for each username as you would with the same username different teams.

Bcavanaugh, Pass keys are specific to the folding name. I had 2 different folding passjeys sent to my email. I had a different folding name in 1 and they had different passkey values.

When editing your Signature the "Undo button" is a great thing to use. If you have a second Forums tab open, just refresh that web browser tab to "see what your edit looks like" - before you close the signature page on
the other "tab" --- so you can use the go back feature if you do not like the results The Signature area is very limited & tricky at times to get the result you want ... been there done that

It took me awhile to find the Associate section that gave you three options and when I tried to add it back to my sig it only displayed as text. Tried the insert option as well and I had to try a few different combo's to get it to work. Then the link Cool GTX was trying to get me to insert was not working as expected either. Almost gave up. Like I said I can only hope it works the way it should and keeps updating the points. Thanks for the suggestions...next time I will know better...leave well enough alone...lol I was going to mention that I added another RTX 2060 XC Ultra so I have two on the i7 machine and I turned the settings down on the FAH to light. It only seemed about 300,000 points between the High and light setting. I have another computer to build have all the parts just not the time... Nite

Hello whiskeywarrior89! Glad to have you join our efforts. Looks like Stanford is having another server issue. Usually resolved after the weekend, but not sure with the corona and school closings. Hopefully fixed soon. Anyway, welcome to Team EVGA! Just FYI, the CPU WU usually don't give enough points to justify folding on them. It's always the folders choice though. <<{Almost sounds like a coffee name}

The issue with Folding servers not assigning work units is that their various "help us with COVID" advertising has resulted in a massive overload of new folders, to the point they just can't generate work units fast enough to keep up. Optimally this will change over the next few days, as they realize that they HAVE so much help and get serious about generating work. To add to the issue, they've had a GIANT render farm company join the effort, that company ALONE has added over 6000 Tesla GPUs to the mix (out of their 45,000 or so). Also, it's not Stanford any more, and hasn't been for a short while - Pande Labs handed off the project to a group out of George Washington University in St. Louis, I'm guessing because Dr. Pande wanted to be able to retire fairly soon without shutting the project down.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Just jumped onboard. Unfortunately my EVGA 2080 Super is still in a WIP build so I'm folding with my current rig that has MSI RX580. Once I get the last 2 fittings in the mail, I should be able to complete the loop, and hopefully buy some distilled water to dilute the EK concentrate to fill it.
