Planetarian, you did such a good job that this is still the go-to folding signature. Appreciate the continued support!

This was updated to EOC's mainpage today:
" Small Update09.23.17, 1:29pm CST Just a quick update. The stats have been upgraded to HTTPS and for the most part should transparently switch you to the secure version of the site. I did code in an exception for the xml feeds & sig images where HTTPS is available but the server won't force it because I don't want to break any custom scripts people are using that might not be able to handle it. If you are experiencing any problems, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm going to be switching over more parts of the website in the coming days, I just need to go through and fix a few hard-coded URLs. I also have recently banned a few IPs of misbehaving web crawlers / bots / scripts. I tried to trace each IP back, but if there is no user-agent in the request, and trying the IP in a browser goes to a blank page, there isn't much I can do. If you find your script can no longer access the stats then again, please don't hesitate to contact me. Also for some people that have embedded pages in Google Docs and WordPress, please remove them. Both those sources do ZERO caching of requests and end up making a LOT of queries for the same data over and over and over. Next little project is a desperately needed update to the sig images and colors. I know the some text & numbers are running over and I plan to fix that. If you would like to submit your suggestions for the colors-to-points for teams & users then feel free to do so. " Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Thanks for the update. https://piro.pirocast.net -v- http://piro.pirocast.net might be an issue as well soon that it. Might be time for some changes under http://piro.pirocast.net to get a Cert but the cost is high for one IMO. I also change the Topic Title Back to F@H Signature Badges [UPDATE 9/20/17: Currently down] from Test.

https://letsencrypt.org/ is a free and easy to install cert that I've heard a LOT of NETSEC professionals saying VERY good things about, if this is something planetarian might want to look into.

My last 5 Year Cert Root and web cost me $1200.00, Wow! Looking at that web site so far not seeing easy support for Windows Servers and IIS.

Hopefully that is the issue and planetarian could use letsencrypt as a solution!

I was able to find this which appears to offer several solutions - https://weblog.west-wind.com/posts/2016/feb/22/using-lets-encrypt-with-iis-on-windows I need to get myself setup for my own server just to walk myself through the process. Get that bit of knowledge tucked under the belt. d

Don't worry folks, the issue is completely unrelated to https or browser caching or anything of the sort. My system keeps its own local cache of all data retrieved, so all uncached requests for any given badge will not pull new data from EOC for the next few hours after the last update, so under normal operation it should never hammer the server too hard. In the meantime, I've already regained connection access to EOC, and have left the badges disabled for the moment as I'm working on doing some script updates. The big thing I'm going to address is the lack of user agent information in the requests the system makes, but I'm also going to review the data acquisition code to make sure things are handled optimally. Just a bit longer =)

A cert will not be needed for this; the HTTPS requirement is only for requests made to the EOC site, and clients (browsers, badges, etc) don't need to do anything special for it to work. Thanks though, I appreciate the offer ^^ I actually had been using letsencrypt for a bit on the server, but their renewal process is a bit of a pain and has to be done every three months, so I haven't really bothered keeping the cert updated. I don't have anything on the system that really needs it anyway =x

Update! Badges are finally (tentatively) back online =) Currently the badges are showing 'points (today)' rather than 'points (24h)'. This is because the 24h value has not yet been added to the XML version of EOC's stats system, which my badges now use. I have talked with Jason and he let me know he'll be adding that field to the XML API in the next couple days, so there might be a short blip in the system when that happens and I update the code to handle it.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for doing all this work! I and many others appreciate the badges, and I'l like to thank you again for going out of your way to keep them functioning! Hopefully things will get less hectic for ya. Even if ya just don't have the time to spend browsing the forums, rest assured your badges will remain plastered all over them for ya.
Have water, will cool.

stat sigs are down again, i assume this is because you'll now be updating the sigs to show 24hr instead of today.
