Been trying this out, the lighting effects are extremely impressive, probably the best I have seen.

A lot of cool details. EX: zoom in on her eyes and turn lights on and off, the lights actually reflect in her eyes... very cool.

In case anyone was wondering... it runs well on Stock 1.5gig GTX 580's in SLI (ultra at 1920x1080)

*Havent see that kind of GPU use in a long time... its upgrade time again I guess
I do have a GTX 680, but I cant bring myself to even open the package until I can afford another.
580's in SLI are still a contender

If it is native 64 bit, the on screen display won't show. Try starting the 32 bit binary (through the install dir, not the launcher).

Yes 66c for the top card, 54c for the bottom on stock air cooling.

*Demo started a bit rough (logo fade into demo) but smoothed out nicely, didnt try to monitor frames....
I can tell you it was not pushing FPS much at all, just enough to pass.

It will be interesting to test further with this demo....
If its not hardware or driver throttling, might make a very useful stress test indeed.
*Note I used Nvidia 301.42 for the run

Wow, this is one of the most beautiful tech demos I've ever seen. It just goes to show what REAL texturing can do. 2GB of texture in that scene, with the lighting that is offered and real time... zooming in on anything is perfectly clear and shows a wonderful level of detail.

    Everyone should check this out!

Also, memory usage @ 2560x1440 peaked at 1982 for me. This was on a 670 FTW 2GB.

This is amazing looking.  The lighting is second only to the actual sun.  I think i have a thing for dawn...lol
If anyone's interested, I get between 38 and 63 fps with 2 680 refs.  The ram was at 1904 used.  98% gpu usage the whole time and a max temp of 41C.
Lol...hit the W key for tess i guess. Prepare for half the frames

I have noticed, Precision doesn't seem to display the framerate for me (not even in the pop-out graph)

It can work if you run the 32bit executable. Located in same directory as Dawn.

I tried it first thing this morning and it was amazing until I tried to exit the Demo and got not one, but two 'Stopped Responding' errors. I uninstalled, restarted, re-installed and the same thing happened. Two more errors. I surrender!

Where is the default install location? When I re-installed, I tried a different location and now I can't get the default setting back and I don't remember where it was. I take it that the 32-bit exe file is in the installed location's folder.

Impressive in a sense, but I guess my bar is differently placed. You guys are going nuts over the Vram, don't forget it is pre-scripted, the CPU utilization will be very different from compared to a game. Therefore, this demo isn't representative of a future game with similar rendering in terms of the effect it has on our systems.

That said, I wonder if a future CGI movie was instead made as programs that our systems render and not pre-rendered for movie/HDTV experience.  Perhaps it wouldn't be as good since the graphics in the demo look no different than the technology involved for rendering one scene at a time in movies like "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" or "Beowulf".

When I re-installed, it installed to Program Files(x86). I ran the 32-bit version but it didn't run fullscreen and there aren't any resolution options. Whatever. At least it didn't give me any more errors. My FPS went from 31 at start to average around 22 for the rest of the run. It does look nice!

I just got another error just for trying to set the resolution with the Configuration app. Nice try NVIDIA but I'm not that fascinated! No more Dawn Demo for me. I'm already tired from having to reset my RAC and clean my Event Viewer twice in one day.
