It seems likely they would announce at least something at the event and being a gaming celebration it wouldn’t be a developer level graphics card. Still though I want to see what is announced benchmarks and the price before I get really excited. It could be that we see only a top tier part at this event.

+1. I hope the price doesn't require me to sell a kidney.

ahem!!!!....really????? should we follow this leak NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 2080 and 2070 Based On Ampere GA104 GPU Receive EEC Certification It looks like the first leak of the naming scheme for NVIDIA’s upcoming next-generation graphics card has finally leaked out: NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 2080 and 2070 featuring the Ampere GA104 GPU have just received ECC certification (via KOMACHI). All the rumors and hints dropped by NVIDIA so far had been pointing to Turing being chosen as the branding name but if this certification is accurate then the company will actually be going forward with Ampere. Manli Technologies registers Ampere GPU based NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2070 and GTX 2080 with the EECManli Technologies, a vendor for NVIDIA GeForce GPUs has just registered an ECC certificate with the name GeForce GTX 2070 and GeForce GTX 2080 included in the mix. The GPU chips also contain GA104 and GA104-400 – both of which are Ampere based. https://wccftech.com/nvidias-geforce-gtx-2080-and-2070-based-on-ampere-ga104-gpu/ ----------------------------- getting to be a back and forth thing...like Nvidia twisting us all in a knot....lol

WHAT? Taiwan is NOT China!
Joint Communique switched diplomatic recognition from Taipei to Beijing. In the Joint Communique, the United States recognized the Government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, acknowledging the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China.Sep 13, 2017

The info i have dug up - Turing is GV102 GV104 and is dropping this month shortly....this is on 12nm it was suppose to have been avail in spring but GDDR6 was not avail yet and pascal was overstock due to mining GA102 and GA104 is ampere and drops in spring/summer next year ...its on 7nm expect ampere to knock your socks off because this is to offset(go head to Head and destroy) NAVI next yearly main GTC is March and thats like 6-7 months so yeah you would be prepositioning and stocking parts for HPC and then consumer shortly after otherwise the Next GTC is the Japan GTC and is this Sept 13-14

This is the same guy who thinks moving all electronics production to the US is feasible the answer.
Not sure I put any stock in statements made by a person who doesn't understand basic global geography and country boundaries, not to mention the basics of the tariffs he's linking (and political rational why the US would not apply these tariffs to Taiwan).

Recently, a couple of new names were trademarked by NVIDIA which include Quadro RTX, GeForce RTX and a range of VR names which references back to their Virtual Link technology that is expected to intro on the upcoming lineup. Regardless, the graphics card will feature the TU104 GPU NVIDIA Will Also Have GeForce GTX Graphics Cards Under The $300 US Price Tag, Rumor AllegesThere also seem to be two GeForce GTX parts in the lineup which include the GTX 2060 and GTX 2050. These cards don’t use the RTX tag and could be due to performance levels not being that sufficient to handle to handle Ray tracing features like the top-tier cards https://wccftech.com/nvid...force-rtx-2080-rumors/ NVIDIA registers TURING, GeForce RTX and Quadro RTX trademarks https://videocardz.com/77...-quadro-rtx-trademarks------------------------------------------------------------------- would you look at that 7GB on the 2070 Card - gimping the RTX 2070 are we????? and 5GB card??? really messing us up with cut down chips

This showed up on my feed today. Maybe its just me or just coincidental that it's the day before the release of Battle of Azeroth (8/14). Maybe they have a deal with Blizzard with the new GPU(s) presumably speaking? Don't companies usually do that on big AAA titles?

I'm already seeing several GTX 1080 Ti cards on eBay for under $500 shipped. Very tempted to pick one up, but I'm going to wait and see the performance and features of the next series cards. If the 1170/2070 is the same performance of a GTX 1080 Ti and the price is right I may go that way.

whats the point of upgrading? Any ways....to each his/her own. One thing for sure, I will be getting the GTX 1180. I have the TV that matches the specs of this new GPU, plus DDR6? It will be a nice addition to my Rig. The question i have is: will the GTX 1180 bottleneck my exciting RIG specs?
T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Worried about a top end GPU bottlenecking your TV and today's PC tech, what?! It's the other way around. Most TV's only go as high as 60hz and 1080p or 4K resolution. Regardless, you might be looking at diminishing returns. Could probably go with the mid tier and still have room for more.

The 1170/2070 may have Ray Tracing, so that would be nice to have with the same performance of a 1080 Ti. Plus I crypto mine, so I would let the 1080 Ti earn money full time.

I kind of worry about the stuff found on eBay since sometimes it was used and abused by a miner.
