I feel your pain! NVIDIA should have priced the 980Ti's at $799 if they wanted competitive pricing, and were only looking to make more money. They just crapped all over Titan X owners!

For me, the 12GB frame-buffer was always why I chased the X. I knew the Ti was coming, but I'm a Titan buyer. From the very first one (I only skipped the Z because $3000 for a GPU that performed worse than Titan Blacks in SLI is flat out ridiculous).

Not to get me twisted, I would have LOVED to only pay $650 for the Titan Xs, but then, I'd also love to be $250M richer.

This may sound crazy to many but being a performance freak I think the 980 ti is all ready out dated and it just came out. We bought the Titan X for the massive 12gbs of ram and 3000+ cuda cores and these cars are for 1440p+ gaming so having the 12gb of ram is one less stutter in games like Shadow of Mordor and Watch Dogs that use 7.5bg+ of ram is well worth the extra.  Having to avoid SLI is nice too one powerful GPU 12gb of ram it just awesome now! Enjoy the Titan X I say!

It will only be outdated if AMD comes out with something more powerful.

Issues in these games are more of the drivers and optimization. being outdated goes by the power that these cards have.

Drivers have been an issue and outdated is a bit of a strong word for the 980ti but when you want the best you take no less and I really think having the 12gb helps them stutters in both Shadow of Mordor and Watch Dogs plus more games are going to start using more VRAM. I've had too many problems with AMD myself so for me I do not consider AMD cards.

OMG did someone release cheaper and almost the same performing hardware faster than expected?! How DARE they!!! Quick go grab a pitchfork! /sarcasm

Not sure why people are upset, even without the 980Ti at today's price point, you had better performance at a lower cost on both sides of the field. Granted not single GPU, but you had the alternatives there (Gtx 970 SLI and Radeon 290X CFX/295X2). But no, you wanted the best. And you still have the best.

If you are so concerned over money, you wouldn't have payed 1 grand+ $ for a GPU.

I'm just surprised that they priced it at $650 right now. Better of starting at $800 then when AMD launches their new card drop price to $650.

If you want to talk about out dated I just upgraded from a GTX 660 non-ti card to the GTX 980 Ti. The GTX 600 series is out dated. lol  People are crying for no reason.

I get why people are crying
Nvidia told them the Titan X would be the fastest card for a long time and then 3 months later a new card comes with nearly the same performance for nearly half the cost

No one has done a FPS differential versus test yet. There might be a huge performance gap between the 2 at higher resolutions which I'm sure there are.

Looks like that sums it up. If I purchased a titan x I would A return it and get my money back and wait for AMD to show their hand, if not just for the possible price war that may give way. B return it for a 980ti if I wasn't coming from a 980. C again wait for the price war and buy another 980. Let me say Nvidia did not want to piss off the X owners with the TI, my guess Their sources have them on their toes with the Fury amd card.

Kinda what I assume it's either that or they leaked the original $800 price and saw reactions and dropped the price.

Ever since January, when the 3.5Gb "debacle" with the GTX 970 came out it was clear to me we will soon see new high-end cards with more than 4GB. But even without the 3.5GB "issue", it was YOUR decision to buy a $1000 card in a field where something new comes out every 3-6 months, like you didn't know that. I for myself don't buy brand-new h/w for some time anymore (I used to many years back when high-end cards cost maybe $300 max), but not anymore. Like ANY hardware, regardless what you buy, after a year or two the stuff is just worth chump-change on ebay.

Am I the only one who's going to keep their Titan X regardless of the 980Ti? lol

Maybe if they start popping up for cheap used I'll SLI.

Only things I'd be selling my Titan X for is if a 990 (2 x 980Ti) comes out or if AMD's Fury ends up being decently faster than the Titan X. Also I'd wait for a 8GB vram version.

This has happened before so it should be expected by now. But it does make sense to be upset since the Titan X doesn't even have the DP performance the original Titan/Titan Black had over 780/780Ti.

I setup my titan x for a return to amazon just need to take the hybrid cooler and backplate off then ship. After all that strap all that stuff into my new 980ti and save up for a second one. I am curious how well the 980ti will do in sli.

Too funny... I guess we won't see you on this forum anymore or you will come back when Pascal comes out?
Sorry but it was kind of your fault... Shouldn't you have learned from Titan black to 780Ti? Looked like Jen-Hsun Huang got you real good!

Pretty much what a bunch of us are doing. Returning the card before our return policy date is up, buying a 980ti or waiting to see what AMD comes out with. I will hold onto mine for a few more weeks and then I will get the refund and decide wether to go with a Hybrid Cooled Tx/980 ti or the R9 390x.

I will admit I'm an NVIDIA fan boy. I spent extra monies on NVIDIA 3D Vision kit / 3D Vision ready monitor then bought NVIDIA 3D Vision 2.0 glasses. They can screw me as much as they want as long as I have beautiful 3D games to play and keep me distracted from how much they screwed over their customers. :P

Let me get this straight if I can decipher what is being said between all of the sobbing and tissue blowing. A company that constantly produces better and better GPUs at a quicker rate than the alternative is now considered bad by some of you?  What kind of bizzaro world is this?  If you own a Titan X, keep it and enjoy the best card made.

why do that if you can return it and almost get 980 ti sli for close to the same price ? I feel fortunate that I am still within my refund range.

I actually just laughed out loud. People will never learn. The speculation has been there for months, and now people are upset it is real. I won't be upgrading this round d, u less I can sell all of my 7 series cards. I think Nvidia did well.

All I can say is keep waiting for AMD but man their drivers suck and they haven't had a major certified release in a longtime, they can't get xfire working with free sync.. Just always behind and always run way to hot... No thanks..

I have a R9 290X In one of my rigs and the drivers are not that bad. If I would say one negative things about AMD drivers it would be the time from game launch they are released. Free sync needs to be fixed to work in crossfire, just like Dsr needs to be fixed to work with my Sli g-sync set-up.
