I'm shocked too that AMD is near all problems they have are so brave to launch premium card with 4GB memory.
At least they have experience and they saw that even R9-290X 4GB CF configuration could work much better with 8GB and they hurry to offer same to market.
I would like most to stop to think on video memory and on everything... What will happen if I connect 2x R9-390X 8GB CF on 5820K... 28 lanes...
I will have 5% less fps than with i7-5930K... Because I bought i7-5820K with only NVIDIA single premium cards on mind next 4-5 years.
I had option to buy i7-5930K cheaper than new i7-5820K even on cheapest online seller, but I decide to save even more and to pay 6 cores little more than i5 Haswell because idea was 980Ti 6GB with all cores and always single NVIDIA. I would like most simply to forget on memory and to buy card with enough video memory even if one die I decide to buy ASUS 3800R... There are only single option now good for than TITAN X SC. I have no money to change later card only for new monitor before time come to change card. Because of that I now need to think on future more than other people.
Second will show up soon that's R9-390X CF 8GB. I don't even think on Fury or how they call that.

Wow, stop whining man. Obviously youre new to the game.

If you had that money to drop on a Titan X card you have enough money to not worry about  it for a long time. The Titan X is still a huge powerhouse. You sound like my friend who bought one, i waited(and told him to wait too for the 980ti), and now were both getting identical speeds. Anyone who is deep enough in the enthusiast game should be familiar enough to make an informed decision on their gfx cards. If you did any home work youde see that getting your titan was a tempting mistake.

These "Titan" series are a newish selling point for Nvidia, they will stitch together whatever current x00 series and make a Titan, and saps like you will happily buy them. Look at the poor Titan Black saps kickin rocks because they spent the same amount you did a year ago and are already outclassed. If you knew anything about technology then youde know that its doubling at an exponential rate. So if you buy something meant to last "forever" in your mind, eventually the rate of technology will fold over you, and the bigger the card the more of the loss. You know what they say about Titans? The bigger they are the harder they fall.

Now when ASUS launch Matrixs from Hawaii, Poseidon. You only connect two tubes, price 60-70e more than reference model.
Easy. Two R9-390X Poseidon 8GB for same price as GTX980Ti.

I'm not understanding this part... I have no beef with AMD (no judging please!). WHat you're saying is (2) ri 390x are equivalent to 1 gtx980ti? So what happens when you stack another 980ti to it? what are the results? Bottom line, the #s is what is important to me.

You didn't understand, I talk about other thing... GTX980Ti SLI reference, not custom, stock models cost in Europe 1500-1600e.
R9-390X 8GB CF will cost as single GTX980Ti. Do you understand that. That's point. If someone have 1200e for him no problem TITAN X SC and goodbye...
I talk here that single R9-390X 8GB will cost under 400$, let's say 400$, but AMD no problem to drop price just like that suddenly...
That mean probably R9-390X Matrix 8GB, or even R9-390X 8GB Poseidon will cost between GTX970 and GTX980.
AMD could launch and R9-390X 4GB version for 300 but biggest demand will be from people who want to build stronger configuration than TITAN X under 800.
Cards are still not launch, many things could change, and NVIDIA and AMD could drop price, we will see... But I talk that NVIDIA no SLI option with enough video memory for next 24 months under 1500-1600e in Europe. That's cheaper variant other is almost 2500e. Someone who can afford dual GTX980Ti will buy dual TITAN X or single TITAN X and later one more he will not look even performance of other cards.
Did you remember when NVIDIA lie for specification of GTX970 and owners easy collect 5000 and more sign against NVIDIA. Many of them didn't complain.
That's biggest part of gaming community. They could afford GTX970 SLI in time when they thought it's nice long term option, but they couldn't afford SLI more expensive than 1200-1300$. Now with AMD they will not need to afraid of lack memory, false advertising, and again they could build stronger rig than TITAN X for same price as GTX970 SLI on beginning.

They want you to buy two of the Fury cards in order to stack VRAM in Windows X. I don't buy it for a second they couldn't of put more memory on the card so there's clearly something else going on. It makes sense to sell a card with 4GB of memory as soon as VRAM stacking hits the market so people are forced to buy two cards because 4GB's isn't enough.
