just use distilled water with a biocide, can't beat it in a non chilled loop

Hey, i had another quick question, i've talked to a few people, Gary from Sidewinder was one of them. they are a bit worried about a single mcp655 pump to run through my gpu/chipset/cpu and 3 rads in a mountain mods case. i know nate said that its a beast and he has ZERO problems going far distances of tubing with his, but what do you guys think? would i be better off with getting a double pump custom top type thing? or should i just stick with a single mcp655?' also i'm worried if theres too much pressure with 2 pumps, i'm worried ill run into leaks from the extra pressure traveling.

oh... I was thinking about that last night. my ONE mcp 655 goes through this entire loop (not necessarily in this order: Triple Rad Triple Rad Double Rad Plexi Res Plexi Res Chipset cooler(my custom made one) Mosfet cooler Chiller Res 20+feet of 1/2" tubing... AND THE OTHER CHILLER PUMP off!! (the other chiller pump is normally used, but on occasion I have forgotten to turn it on, and you still see water cascading down the chiller over the evaporator when I forget to turn on the primary pump. When the primary pump is on, the flow increases) If that isn't a testimonial, I don't know what is. But, if you can afford 2, then by all means. If you have 2, you can also personally try separate loops

if you were going to go with a 2 pump system I would suggest a top like OC333 suggested and two MCP 355s but as nate has proven the MCP-655 is a monster pump, check out this thread if you want further proof: http://www.411overkill.co...ic.php?f=92&t=6399 that monster res/rad has a 2gallon reservoir ;)

mines got slightly over 2 gallons of prestone. I think he said his Honda radiator held around a gallon. I don't think the quantity of liquid matters. I have always wanted to put a car radiator outside my window during the winter for free chiller cooling. I am helping a friend do that now.

nateman_doo You have to make your own decisions. How cold are you looking to go? are you going above freezing? As far as I know it should be just a ice slushie, so like -10 to 10C benching, normal 4x120 rad for 24/7, CPU only loop. Total cost will end up being like ~$250.

Halo_003 So should I go with an MCP 655 over the 355 w/ top? (For ice water.) I have the MCP 355 with the Laing top reservoir, Black Ice Extreme 560 rad, chiller, Masterkleer tubing 13/10mm(8meter) and it works great. If you really wanna go for ice water, use distilled water 2/3 and 1/3 Audi G12 plus and nothing more. I have around 6m of the tubes in daylight after 8 month there is no algae or whatever it looks like on the first day. And it was so easy to get rid of air with the top res, I just pre- filled the rad and chiller, started the pump and filled up what was missing to the top res. All together maybe 10 min of work.

nateman_doo Wizzard, welcome back! now get back to work on the 45K! did last night, best was 44 876. I have probs to get good result with the physix test. I had 2 fps more in Jane Nash than you, 2 less in Calico, in AI 4200, I was sure that's a strong 46 but I never thought that I will have a ****ty 173 in Physix. I run now 4,9 GHz (21x235) but it 's not really stable. First thing now, I will go back on water with CPU to change to the latest BIOS. With my Bios max boot is 220 BLCK if I get a hard lock I must wait after cleaning CMOS that the temps go up to -20 or I can't boot anymore, just too cold. . I hope that I'm able to boot with the latest Bios somewhere between 230 - 240 and than just some fine tuning with voltages. After 2 hours I can see ice on the back of the mobo, very funny, thanks god all protected with plast dip so no issue.

Halo_003 Nice! Which has better flow though? Halo, I really don't know but in my opinion, flow doesn't matter that much. Look in the old forum there have been some discussion about the impact of flow. According to the techn. sheet the 355 can pump to 4,7m the 655 to 3,7m, I believe that's because of the smaller diameter of the tube, not really sure about it. I had the 655 also on my list but didn't like the 1/2 fittings because I had already G 1/4 on the Aquagrafs and the Cuplex. What ever you choose you will be happy with it.

run dual pumps one in your case and one outside the case connected to a power supply. i used a which is a 500 gph pump. also helps with filling a case with out turning on the main power. testing loops. the faster the flow that faster it cools a system..(just what i have seen so far)(thinking of getting a bigger one though)
