I thought Nate would appreciate the large copper block which I picked up for dirt cheap ($3.50/lb... I think that is cheap?) as scrap at a local metal dealer...
AND what the hell is this thing?! you STILL haven't told us how its going to work!
That is my 12 tec chiller... the outside and middle blocks are for the hotsides... the other two blocks are for the cold sides. This pic only has a few TECs in place and the plumbing is incomplete. When it is done... it will have the capability to run 12-15 amp/16v TECs 75%... so 12 x 12amps + 144 amps. That is a little unrealistic so I will run 12706 TECs to start... 12 X 6amps/16v @ 75% is 12 x 4.5amps = 54amps... which I'm hoping my 650 watt/60amp Thermaltake GPU can handle... I might have to tap into the main psu... all part of the "Thermoelectric Madness!"

I forgot to add... those steel plates with the holes in them for long screws are for holding the waterblock assembly together and that should fit in a 5-1/4" drive bay!

definitely gonna have to call BS on those specs.. 5.22 ghz and 2000mhz ram? that memory controller would be annihilated in no time at all also check out the hwbot compare on this chip: http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/xeon_w5580?tab=hall%20of%20fame he would have the bot record for fastest speed by 300mhz!! none the less all that hardware for that price is a sweet deal

If you look closer at the record there at hw you'll see that it is with 4 5580's and not 1. Harder to clock 4 chips than it is for 1 chip.

if you look closely you will see that it is a single W5580 (CPU-z verification shows 4 cores 8 threads, motherboard was a EVGA classified)

My cheap @$$ bench rig currently i am working on. DFI UT P35 T2R 2x1gb 1066 Dominators Pentium D 915 and P4 660 ATI x600xt Antec 550w psu Pd 915 @ 4700mhz: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=864829 Temps were/are 31*C idle, 37*C benching 2D (superpi, wprime, etc.) I have some benches that i just need to upload to photobucket, then i can post them... Ugh, i can't wait to do DICE! I can't seem to get it stable over 4.7 though. Any ideas? I increased the vcore 2 notches for 4.8 and it gets through the XP loading screen, but when it says "welcome" and is loading, it BSODs out...

Whenever that happens to me, it's a voltage/RAM timing that needs to be fixed.

You guys are funny with the questions on "I'm having problems running close to 5Ghz, any ideas". LOL! Sounds like you are having a good time, which is what this is all about. Hey, it could be that barometric pressure is different today..or ambient temps are different. Even on hard core cooling, like this thread is about, other factors creep in beyond our control. I have to re-tweek my BIOS setting to go along with my new 837 core I found I could run (Physx excepted  ). Work-in-progress Keep up the good work bros!

LOL... don't forget the Classified motherboard and the 3 x raptors... probably a nice psu too boot. I know the guy who builds these... he is the same guy that I get some of my Thermoelectric stuff from. The thing that is confusing is this is not his normal eBay account... so I need to make sure of a few things first before I pay. There were two of these units... the other one went for $1475! But I was bidding on my iPhone... not the easiest thing to do for a last minute bid! This is over $4k in parts alone so quite a deal if it is for real. I can't get a hold of the original builder on the phone (I talk to him all the time)... last time I talked to him he was going to Australia to set up one of these rigs... I not sure if the deal fell thru and he just needed to dump them or if this new seller (who has only 2 feedbacks) is trying to pull a fast one. The thing is... even if I pay... I'm still protected by PayPal so I don't see how it could be a scam. It's funny though... the first thing I bought on eBay was a Cooler Express for $333 and the guy never sent it to me... took me forever to get my money back from PayPal because I didn't understand the claim and escalation process. We shall shortly see.

He's totaly legit... holds a world record for one of the old quads... knows shimano, king pin and some others... he was in the top ten at one time... I talk to him all the time on the phone about the thermoelectric stuff. The pic is wrong because it shows only 6 gigs of ram not 12... the only thing I need to verify is the seller... this is not the eBay account he normaly uses...
