Yes, after you do it, you'll wonder why you waited so long.  A/C & Cooler.  Put evaporator in the cooler (the one with all the fins, lol), plug up any holes/air gaps in cooler.  Fill with prestone de-icer.  I also add some 50/50 regular prestone antifreeze for the anti-corrosive additive.  Submerge a pond pump into the liquid with water tubing running to your cpu/gpu(s).  Your done.  That was the easy part.

Then you have to learn how to prep your mobo, cpu socket, and gpu so you don't kill everything, lol!  This means insulate everything.

We all have good pics so ask away

they looked to be damn near the same...i gotta take a closer look. because all this time...i haven't even been paying attention to the 500 series...at all!...lol

hummm, it looks to be different...hummmm...but not by much. looks like the the row of 4 ram chips is a tad bit closer to the row of 5 ram chips. and the 480 has 3 caps right there. the 580 doesn't. and the 480 has a row of 6 caps along the ram..the 580 doesn't....

this is why I wanna be able to have CNC capabilities.  As fast as new cards come out, I can bang out a waterblock faster then larger companies.  Plus I can make the top covers out of lexan- who wouln't want a bullet proof video card?

While I would like one, I don't think it would ever get shot at. Unless my room gets hit by a rogue round from the range. Lexan less prone to cracking than everything else they use like POM? I know acrylic is not good for most things especially when you go Sub Zero.

I know exactly how ya feel... My current idea is to try and snag a 580 in Dec/Jan and then pick up two more later. Right now I have to update PSU(mine is steadily failing me), and mobo. Only question is whether I should get a Classy3 or a R3E.

Crap.. I just ordered a OCZ vertex 2 60Gb.  My OCZ LE seems to be doing nicely as a win 7 bench drive since June.  I guess we'll see.

my bench drives are working for the most part...its the drives that aren't benching that has me worried. they are in no way "under stress" so why are they failing? i dont like it when people call back to say the drive literally crashed.."not good"
