Woo! Great score Q! That's insane! Now I need my DICE pots so I can knock you off. Rabid that means you're in trouble too! Today I swam 200 breast and 400 IM... Those are TOUGH races. I was dizzy and lightheaded after both of them. I improved both a lot though, that was great... I think I took about 4 seconds off my 200Breast, and 14 off my 400 IM, which was insane. I don't think I've ever dropped that much at once in the 400 IM. Now I get to go back for Finals at 4 and race both of them again.

Q56_Monster 14 Sec!!! Nice job Halo! Keep it going...all it takes is courage to go through the pain. Smoke 'em in finals! Thanks Q! @ Finals I took another 3 seconds off my 200 Breast time, and went 2 seconds slower in my 400IM.. Doesn't matter though. I'd rather have the 14 sec drop. Tomorrow is the last day... Just 1 event tomorrow. 100 Breast.. Should be good! My best is 1:10.61 and tonight in my 200 my first 100 was 1:09.4 so That should be a nice drop. I want my Gulftown + Fermi + DICE.

So I came back from PAX and I got to actually play with Fermi. I have to say the 3d stuff going on at that place was incredible. In order to have 3d on multiple monitors, you need a 470/480 as your primary card, and a 285 or better card as your second card. Kinda sux for people who don't have those cards, but for people that do, they only need a single Fermi card to enjoy absolutely BREATHtaking 3d. (need those glasses though) The amount of heat being thrown out of those Fermi's was crazy. I feel like I could easily burn my hands. No worries, thats what water cooling is for. I also did notice that just about every computer there had a Classified mobo. I looked inside every computer and checked out those 480's. They are AS LONG as the x58 board. Still such a sight to see. Also I actually got to TOUCH the SR2 (not with my calipers) but i took dozens of high res pics of that board. I can't tell you how much larger it is in person. Once you see this SLAB of pure bliss, you begin to wonder where the hell your going to get that thing to fit. Then I said to myself I would probably re-arrange a room for that thing (and donate my left one)

I don't think the 3d pictures would come out as desired. You just have to see it. I was just annoyed I did some silly "scavenger hunt" and didn't get my T-shirt. I went to all the booths, got stuff stamped, and they weren't giving out any T-shirts until Saturday. So if you had a friday pass, they said go screw. Thanks Nvidia. I don't know where I could upload 12 megapixel pictures too. Lord knows photobucket doesn't keep them at that resolution.

Just put them on your computer and re-size with picasa or something like that. Using export. You don't need anywhere near 12 megapixel resolution to display on web site etc.

shamino cpus on crappy air to simulate 6G Gulftown :D physx disabled Looks like it needs better Memory clocking, after 1100/2200, it is extreme bandwidth limited in Vantage. That's a good one. Running the GPU @ like 1100Mhz on LN2. Just divide the shader by 2.

My project is coming along nicely. A few "bumps in the road," but nothing a dremel couldn't fix. I should be finished tonight or tomorrow, and then it will rain pics. Also, i should be prepping the DFI board w/ pd 915 in it for DICE tonight or tomorrow.

Is it just me or are these 480's not too impressive? Considering Sham's massive cpu score and paltry LN2 cooled gpu score, I'm not impressed. I was hoping one 480 would bench better than a GTX 295. I don't think it would. One of my 295's got a 29,116 the other night with a 980x, and my cpu score was 10,000 less than sham's. My GPU score was 400+ points higher. I'm on H2o, he's on LN2?? Doesn't make sense, does it?

Ive had the chance to play with a 480... this card was made with WC or better in mind.. I was hitting 100c+++ on furmark.. it was insane. The power drain on this sucker is killer too... imo the 5870 card is better price/performance wise. also the 5870 might just have win on it with the 2gb version coming out. For now... Crazy numbers Q.. your smoking those cards.......

On paper the GTX 480 just really be a great bit better than the GTX 295. Same amount of shaders, not having to deal with SLI scaling, and GDDR5 memory. Im not sure what to think of Shamino's score. The GPU score looks awfully high compared to the one already submitted on the bot with LN2. Given the clocks are almost 200mhz off, but the scaling looks too high. Im not saying its fake, but just odd. I also believe that he has hard modded the card, Monstru (IIRC thats his name) only got 900mhz core with LN2 because he couldnt push more volts with it, while Shamino is saying he got 1150mhz out of it. The 5870 will probably keep the Vantage crown, while the GTX 480 takes the 03\05\06 crowns.
