I caught your fever Nate. No, not the one you're fighting with rum and antibiotics, but the "pull out your ole' lga775 board & cpu fever". I started to install XP at 8pm...it's now 11:30! Arrgghhh! I can't get the dang OS installed! Tried pulling a ram stick, switching ram, switched out 3 cpus.....have my trusty Q9650 in there now (just pulled it out of my wife's machine..ha).
I just want to get a 3dm01 run in to see how it compares to the i7.
Once I do that, I'll slap the Q6600 in and see what kind of cpu benches I can get on air (cold air that is).
Well going ok now..1 ram stick and the Q9650 seem to be the combo for this XP install.

Q, what board? Also, you guys are getting me excited. Once i finally freakin find the time to, I am planning to try and break some WR's for the q9300, and if i can't, i am going to shoot for top 5 or top 10, depending on the benchmark. The competition doesn't seem too bad for the q9300: http://www.hwbot.org/hardware/processor/core_2_q9300_2.5ghz I figure i'll see what i can do on air first, then shoot for the records with dice. I also an going to try the cpu on the 750i ftw and the DFI p35 and see which can push a higher bus (will first test with lowest possible multi, to try and max bus). My money's on the DFI. We shall see...when i get the time.

benching 06 @ 226 now. I figure I can bench all night, save the results, reset the bios, and upload the best score. I have this weekend planned for Q6600 benching.

spend 50 bucks you get all of them exept vantage which you have you can go public if you want you just need to make sure you have less than 5 06 results uploaded try to delete some old ones. Shock benching at 4.9

Sounds like you're like me Nate, we only use our machine for benching. So why not BUY the benching software? Takes two minutes on line, you get your code, enter it in your free version and it unlocks the advanced features...simple. Nothing to download.

that's what i did...i bought them all.
2001 will just submit the results to your profile..but it's a pain running all them test so your gonna have to find out how to get the unlocked version...and it's a pain in the butt from my understanding. maybe try to find madonion and offer up a donation for a key.

Sad, I have this machine that would eat any game alive, and All I do is bench on it. I originally bought everything to do both benching, and gaming, now I use my Q6600/790i/9800GT for gaming. So... so sad. But the backup system plays the games too. I got 2 card coming I won off e-bay. Time to whore up some hardware cups. when they arrive... I got my work cut out for me, learning all these older benches. I'm currently working on 227 bclk 06, but I am letting my chiller catch up and have the computer off.

I sold my old 8800GTS 512's. Long ago before I knew about the bot. Wish I saved one for some old school benching.

OK, so I ran 3dmark 06 from 220 all the way to 227.
I kept the single 295 @ 800/link/1200 and the results were all pretty much in the 30K range. Since the scores remain the same no matter how high the CPU goes, i now assume the GPU that is the bottle neck.

What were your cpu scores from 220 to 227?
