Anyone concerned about the temps? Most reviews showed it hitting around 85c with the fan on auto. I am hesitant to get one now. If the threshold is 91c, isn't that a bit too close for comfort?
More reasons to watercool it. :P It's the same 28 nm process as Titan / Titan Black, and a bigger chip running at a higher clock rate, so what do you expect. That just means it has more headroom for overclocking when properly cooled.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure you increase your case fan speeds a bit to help keep things cooler. It is possible that the higher temps you've seen have been at 4K resolution gaming. I'm not as concerned considering I'll be playing at 1080p—albeit running 120+ fps with max graphic settings. I can't go back to 60Hz. :P

This card looks pretty good actually. However, I already have a 980 and know that the next card, after the Titan X, will be better... Therefore, I will wait.

According to this review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9059/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-review They were able to keep the GTX Titan's information controlled so well because they are not going to be shipping out cards through other vendors for weeks. According to that information, I won't be able to get one for a good while since 1/3 of my cash to buy one is locked up in newegg gift cards. I noticed that they mentioned the memory buffer. Looks like the memory will be structured the same as the GTX 900 series cards with 25% of the memory cache being split up from the rest.

Thanks for the responses void and raf. I suppose that does make sense. I think I may beef up other parts of my computer for now and see about a possible 980Ti in a few months. 390X MIGHT be an option.. I'm just not very fond of team red's drivers and software.

I was really hoping Nvidia would break the Titan cycle and let the board partners create custom cooling solutions.
Well, if it's anything like GTX 780 or GTX 780 TI (which I've had/have), the "target temp" for those were 80c and 82c respectively. If it goes higher than that, then the fan starts taking off. So it's like 'wanted' to run that warm for the boost, clocks and fan noise to be in control. Hard to explain, feel free to correct me. :)

Warranty period is fine. Its the fact we probably will not get the same experience as we would going to nvidia that we do with EVGA. I also really want to see the SC Speeds to see if its worth waiting for. i would rather not manage my overclock and have it come from the factory so i dont need to mess with tit much.

Yep as previously mentioned, shipped from Houston, TX, and wife just confirmed mine was already delivered to me just on East Coast. :) I paid for Next Day Afternoon knowing I'd be at work anyways so no point for the AM.

I want to tell to all NVIDIA fans and others who hate NVIDIA.
Many times people complain about low performance improvement between series.
But now they have no reason to complain.
NVIDIA was fair this time. WHY?
Only before one year NVIDIA launch TITAN BLACK 6GB for 1000$, Superclocked version was 1100$
After one year NVIDIA offer more than 50% improvements over TITAN BLACK with his successor TITAN X, and not only that, they offer double size of video memory, from 6GB to 12GB and price stay same. Even now Superclocked version is almost 100$ cheaper.
I think performance improvements is closer to 60% but I'm not sure. For one year. Because of that TITAN X worth every cent. No need to look in AMD yard, they could launch 10% weaker or 10% stronger, who care, in games that would be much worse experience.
AMD offer only rumors and their task is to stop customers to buy TITAN X and chase fog, they could launch card in June, July or October, nobody know... Enjoy in TITAN X.

GitDat, what monitors are you using for 3D Surround? I'm at a quandary here now as I have 3 Acer GD235HZs in 3D Surround, but they are dual-link DVI only for 120Hz. With the original Titan I got 2 DL-DVI ports per card so I could hook all 3 monitors up to 2 cards in SLI. But now these reference Titan X's only come with 1 DL-DVI port so I would need 3 Titan X's to hook up all 3 monitors which a fairly ridiculous configuration for my setup.
Or I would have to get 3 Active DP to DL-DVI converters as apparently they only support 3D Surround either all through the DVI ports or all through DP ports, you can't mix and match. I really wish they would come out with a Titan X with 2 DL-DVI ports, like the various custom GTX 980s like the EVGA Classified. I might just have to sit these Titan X's out and upgrade my monitors first.

Regarding Nvidia support concerns some have....
I purchased a shield tablet, shield controller, and shield portable from Nvidia direct. Had to RMA shield controller and shield portable once each. The RMA process isnt bad and they take care of you with little trouble within about a weeks time, very easy process. My experience with with EVGAs support / RMA process was very similiar to Nvidia's, painless, quick and easy. Both are very good.
Asus support is the bar, actually the floor that I measure all others against, even a slight improvement is excellent.

Well, it depends what the buyer is looking for in a graphics card. I was really happy with the GTX TITAN and TITAN Black Superclocked, but the TITAN X for me is a disappointment. I like both decent gaming performance and good double-precision compute performance for various things. It's tough to find that in a consumer graphics card. I was willing to pay the money for the Kepler-based TITANs because it was a good value if the customer needs an all-around gaming and compute card. I understand that NVIDIA has its reasons for once again separating the gaming and compute features back to their original GeForce and Tesla lines, but it was nice while it lasted. At this point I don't think we'll see another dual purpose card like the Kepler TITANs in the foreseeable future, as I don't think its a direction that NVIDIA wants to take.

Just looking at numbers alone, this card seems to be more of a lateral move for me from my SLI 970s. Of course I speak in terms of gaming performance at under 4k resolutions.
Is this a fair assessment?

Numbers alone (except VRAM), SLI 970s are better. They have 256 more cuda cores and can clock at higher speeds (my 970 FTW+s are stable at 1550 while gaming on air and haven't even tried for a max OC yet).
Really only at UHD I see the Titan X being better because of the extra VRAM (and having all at the same speed).
