I will forever to be NVIDIA customer. I know that now. Everything is clear for me... AMD last time success to cause suspicious to me with stories about HBM and R9-390X but NVIDIA know what they do. EVGA chose right side, they had very good vision of future. God bless NVIDIA and her CEO and EVGA best graphic card manufacturer.

What exactly is everyone's expectation, it won't be faster than a pair of 980's. Most of us that follow rumors/leaks know there is a GM200 die in there, with 3072-CUDA, that's 50% more than GTX980. So in any gaming scenario that doesn't use more than 4GB, a pair 980 will be faster and possibly cheaper too. I know there an brandname loyalists here who aren't really gamers at heart if they put priority on building their systems, but I hope you use your head once in a while...don't assume nVidia will price it low enough to make it easy for you to get; they are a business, not a charity. The product is aimed at those that treat the price like a drop in the bucket, not those that wanted it for $750 or so.

Okay for 4K, but REALLY not a very smart purchase. Honestly, Nvidia's lower priced high-end cards are starting to lose value as well. The highest-end video card used to be 500 bucks, not it is over one thousand? Come on, this is pretty ridiculous. I really blame the lack of competition in the market. We have AMD and Nvidia, AMD has really been struggling with the PC market, if you ask me.

What I find interesting is that it has an 8-pin and a 6-pin power input and not two 8-pin. This may mean less than 250W of power or right about there. Definitely not 300W that we are hearing about with the new R9. Still the price will be outrageous. I like the look. Too bad I use a water block for all my cards which will waste the nice looking black reference cooler. It has got to be at least $1,500 for this thing.

If there is no 980ti, then hopefully there is a 980 with 6-8gb, so that we can at least do 4k, without worry of vram. I still oppose them as marketing this as a "gamer card" this is a introduction professional card for designers and developers. People buying it because "it's nvidia top card" really need to look at what they are getting, whatever you do though people will still go out and buy it. I really really hope the 390x gets announced soon just to see what it brings and maybe bring down prices.

I hate all the guessing involved in this. I'm ready for an upgrade even though my 780 Ti's are only a year old. I am getting stuttering in games at 1440p, and when I had a 4K monitor (waiting for the ROG 4K now), it was impossible to play new titles maxed out due to VRAM limitations. Shame on you NVIDIA for your cash cow strategies, milking us for every dollar you can. Three Titan releases on the 700 series, and a Ti equivalent with half the VRAM simply because you can? Ridiculous. This card looks to be the top of the line from the get-go... but I doubt it'll be cheap. I can't believe I'm even considering dropping $1K+ on a GPU (I'd get two), but it seems like this is a pretty "future proof" card if you ask me. 12 GB of VRAM is simply insane, and the power is there for sure. So I have to ask myself - do I wait for an equivalent with 6-8 GB, probably with less cores to begin with...and then another release later, or go all out from the start and have a 99% chance of kicking my wallet where it hurts because I was an early adopter well-knowing what NVIDIA would do? As excited as I am to see AMD's offerings, I highly doubt they'll touch this. And I don't know if I could bring myself to deal with the lack of driver support and GameWorks functions that we'll be seeing. Oh decisions, decisions...

Lack of competition does keep prices higher, but so do people who buy it at outrageous prices. If not a single person purchased one, the price would go down as well. Prices are set at what people will pay. chrisdglong Okay for 4K, but REALLY not a very smart purchase. Honestly, Nvidia's lower priced high-end cards are starting to lose value as well. Costumers shouldn't get rid GTX980 before even this card is show up. It will be very expensive. People as me will need to wait model with 6GB. I hope NVIDIA will not cut CUDA because than card become not interesting and is to close GTX980.
