Just wondering where this card came from.  Something new?  Found it in the bundles with cpu cooler.  08G-P4-5184-KR  I do not see it in the Product section.  There is no picture or at least I can't see it.

Hold on that one, may be going up again later. Its a 1080 with a slightly different style ACX cooler.

they have had gigabyte 1080ti's at 899 for a blower or 1050ish for a decent cooler + motherboard for awhile. way better value than a base 1080 for 809

It's still a hundred bucks more than it should be selling for but in this market I guess that's not really that far out of line until Supply improves or the new generation releases

Almost pulled the trigger on the king, but then I remembered they stopped selling the block for it...My wait for a K1/K2 continues.  I have a feeling the new cards will be in before I see a 6797 K1/K2.

Any one know what the average msrp is for a 1080 ti, prices that they actually sold for? Before the prices got out of hand, its been so long that I can't really remember how much the price was.

Good news tho, since the price gouging started they have fallen $150 in the past month or so. At this rate, assuming supply slowly trickles, new 1080 Tis should be at MSRP by mid-April to May

That is good. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel. But by April/May wouldn't a person be better off just waiting until next gen cards are released? Of course no one knows when next gen cards will be announced, let alone be released. But you never know.

Most likely just need to be really lucky in grabbing stock or wait for the crypto frenzy to die down, or a stock boom. I'm waiting for a 1080 ti myself.

this is the worst time to add to mules in the mines, crypto frenzy was nov/dec. if you spend a few minutes on google you can read earnings reports from nvidia, samsung, TSM etc and the picture is pretty clear on why we have a shortage. supply has been reduced 
 
i actually remember watching a video from a small computer shop back in december where the guy outlaid this exact scenario of nvidia cutting pascal production to ramp up next gen, the existing stocks would be depleted and there would be a 60-90 day window where cards were just not available. 
 
i thought to myself "nvidia can't be that stupid" pssh this guy is high
