If you were able to get a card, when will they ship? I was able to get it on Friday night.

If it isnt related you crypto currency have they stated why there is a shortage? I also think it is dumb for retailers to sell them as s 10 pack online.

Nvidia seems to be trying to avoid the fact that THEIR OWN BAD TIMING on the producion switch at TSMC is a major factor in the current shortage on their side.
 
AMD has pointed to "memory shortages" as a factor in why they CAN'T ramp production up enough.
There is evidence in their most recent quarterly earnings report that they TRIED to do so, but maxed out their available share of foundry capacity at GF and then had to pay GF a lot to use whatever available "outside capacity" they could find.
HOWEVER, that might be more related to their VERY strong sales on Ryzen CPUs, the strong sales of the XBox and PS4 line (they make the APU for both of those), and NOT directly related to their GPU production.
 
In fairness, NOBODY seems to have anticipated 4Q 2017 being bigger than 4Q 2016
https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS43495918 says a lot about "unanticipated growth", with comments about "strong holiday sales" and "strong gaming sales".
 
There was no "crypto craze" of any significance on GPU mineable coins in 4Q 2017 except for Ethereum, and THAT coin is a major AMD stonghold, should not affect Nvidia sales or pricing AT ALL on the 1080 or 1080ti, and AMD high-end Polaris cards have to get significantly HIGHER in price than the 1060 and close to even in price to the 1070 to affect sales or pricing on THOSE cards (which is what happened last Spring) - which had not happened when the Nvidia "we're ALL OUT" level of shortage that hit right after Christmas and more than a week BEFORE AMD hit that level of shortage.
 
In short, the current major shortage seems to be more that "nobody predicted that sales this Christmas sales season would be anywhere near as high, especially at the HIGH END" and didn't get their production pipelines filled up enough to handle it.
 
 
Given current price and profitability trends, I am beginning to wonder how much of the Ethereum hashrate growth is due to "new rigs" being added and how much is "old rigs switching over from OTHER coins because it's more profitable".
 

Hopefully Mr. Jacob will put some stock for the EU Market today so that I can grab at least a 1080 Ti :D

I gave up, my old one died last month, something had to be bought so HD6450 and all "flash" games in the world are mine :)
Probably EU store will get anything new after all this mess ends, now I'll wait till 1070/1080 will show up.

I actually don't want the DT version so no big, but on other days you've posted stock later in the work day. (at least in the week that I've been here :-)
