Is there a way to flash back to the old firmware?

Dear Jacob, is there a possibility, that there will be also a update for the normal cards, so we can put fan speed at 30%? Because 40% is ok, but my 460 runs at 27-28°C with that speed :-) So it would be cool, if it is possible lower a bit the speed.

Re:Free Performance Boost (FPB) for GTX 460 Now Available 2010/08/29 09:32:19 (permalink)
hi all,

i have "tried" to flash my GTX 460 1024 EE (01G-P3-1371-ER) with the FPB 1371_fbp_1.1 tool, but i don't know if it had success.

cmd run to fast for seeing a final screen (selve closed).

after rebooting my GPU-Z shows:

BIOS VERSION: 70.04.13.00.76
GPU CLOCK: 720 Mhz
Memory: 900 Mhz
Shader: 1440 Mhz

this values accords to the announced new values per FBP

did it also work then ???

thx 4 ur help so far

best regards

Dumb question but do you have to uninstall the display drivers first or does the flashing of the firmware do that?

It was recommended to reinstall the drivers after flashing and rebooting. After rebooting I did not have to reinstall the drivers, but it may be different for some people.

It's a very good idea to uninstall/reinstall the drivers.

1365 and 1370 already have the fpb. Check the core clock and you'll know.

yes. that is correct. i assumed it finished without a prompt telling me so. i mean i was a flash upgrade. meaning it was a quick thing.

thing is, now my 460 freezes for 10 seconds at a time with my games. for example crysis, even with all setting low, it still froze.

is there a way i can roll back this preformance boost and make my 460 the normal superclocked card it was outta the box? the issue's getting really annoying with not having to play my games and enjoy them because it freezes every 4 seconds.

i even rolled back the nvidia drivers but that didn't work..

it doesn't list the model 1365  ,if you do attempt to use one of the listed and approved bios flashes for the wrong model you have voided the warranty terms of your card and if anything goes wrong you have no warranty

I,m having a problem with my 460 GTX EE SC.. When i try and use the correct firmware above i get a message saying my card is not supported. When i open evga precision all my clocks are the same as the standard EE and not the superclocked one..? I have registered the card and the product details come up as a superclocked card but mine is not showing the superclocked clocks...?

My bios is - 70.04.13.00.70

Any help would be most appreciated..

Re:Free Performance Boost (FPB) for GTX 460 Now Available 2010/08/31 20:03:18 (permalink)
Why do my games keep freezing with my newly installed gtx 460 1gb sc ee card i just got yesterday! i replaced my old 9800 gt's that were sli'd and i've never had freeze issues with the two..

even Crysis with all the settings low freezes with the new card. my games freeze every 4 seconds and stay frozen for about 10 seconds at a time.

what could be wrong? i've installed all drivers from the cd that came with the gpu and i went to the nvidia site to get the latest driver for the card there. i've also downloaded the free boost and nothing.

could it be a power issue? i have a 750w psu. is it a mobo issue?, i have the mobo that came with the dell xps 630i' in late '08. is it a ram issue?, i have 4 g's of ram. is it a bios issue?

i dunno but please, anyone, help! please..

about an hr. ago i ordered another gtx 460 1gb sc ee card so i can sli the cards and maybe that'll fix the issue hopefully, but if anyone knows what i'm talking about or if you have any solution, please help a fellow evga guy and help me figure this out.

thanks in advance..

nevermind
it is an everest problem
running the newest beta of everest resolves this and all the 460's gpu information is displayed correctly
everest beta now reports gpu fan speed in rpm instead of percentage

on another note i find this card to be quieter than my 250gts and runs just a tad cooler

I saw that if you already have an SLI config it will update both but if I haven't upgraded to SLI but will I have to re-install this update for the second card?
On another note that first beep after hitting "y" scared the piss outta me...

+1.  By "normal cards" you probably mean the 1360 and 1362 that you already released the FPB 1.0 update for, but adding the 1.1 feature of lowering fan speed like for the EE versions.  But I'd love to see this for my 1372 1GB SC non-EE card (see previous post).  While the reference cooler isn't as bad as the leafblower EE, it's still by far the loudest part of my otherwise silent rig, and could easily be reduced to 30% or even 20% with no problems.

If I could, I'd just flash with the 1373 version, since that's probably exactly the same ROM, the only difference being the heatsink as far as I know, but the updater app is too smart to let me.  I don't even care what clock rates the ROM wants to set as default, since I"m using my own OC settings anyway, so even the 1371 would probably be OK, but again it won't let me.  I'm halfway tempted to just try replacing "1373" with "1372" in the code and see if it works...
