Rat-Boy @djcake123: Do you use the newest GPU-Z, the 0.4.6? With the older one you can't read the bios, but with the newest you can. did you even READ me message?

@EVGA_JacobF: Hello Jacob, got a small question: can i use the V1.1 Update nr.1 for both cards, the 768MB and the 1024MB or is there a difference between them (exept memory)? Thanks a lot for doing such a good job!

Since each bios is listed for individual cards by part number doing so would void warranty. If it even worked it would not be a authorized Bios flash by EVGA .

So there should come also a update for the 1GB cards or will it be only a deluxe for the 768MB :-) ?

Thats up to EVGA,i dont even know the details of how much they can or cannot alter Bios wise on these cards. It's up to them to decide what is safe and that they feel comfortable with issuing as a update that they are willing to cover under warranty. The fact they did this for any cards is great and shows leadership in the GPU market IMO.

Excellent, that's what I was hoping for. To EVGA, can you update the first post in the thread, which still says, "New in version 1.1 - Fanspeed on External Exhaust cards can now be reduced to 30%".

Jacob just PM'ed me the bios for the 1GB 460 reference cards. Fan speed is down to 1290rpm. The hard drive is the loudest thing on my computer now. I told Jacob to post it up for everyone else with the 1GB cards.

I´ve got the 460 768 mb non ee, non sc Bios Update worked finde, Fanspeed is now 1170 rpm aprox. Temperature is ok so far, but with a dual Monitor Setup it rises up to 51° C (idle) without any changes in Fan Speed. Is that ok so far or is this too hot for idle?

Mine idles at 35 now instead of 30. With two moniters hooked up the card dose not down clock which is why it idles higher. 51 is nothing to worry about. The max temp is 100 something.

Temperature is ok so far, but with a dual Monitor Setup it rises up to 51° C (idle) without any changes in Fan Speed. Is that ok so far or is this too hot for idle? This is because there is no P03 clock domain in card bios so the card runs with P00 domain all the time while in dual monitor setup - this means full power! There were several 460 cards with the same problem (Gigabyte, Palit, Gainward), but these got the P03 domain via bios update in the meantime - nothing too difficult to make. Not the EVGA 460s, I wrote to the european support about that problem, but nothing happened obviously... In this german thread the problem was a topic in the first big post. Be sure to click "spoiler" unter the topic... if you find it and are able to speak german :-) http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f14/nvidia-geforce-gtx-460-faq-oc-benches-bei-fragen-erste-seite-lesen-part-3-a-738286.html BTW Thanks for the 30% EVGA!!!
