Alright well heres the problem I have with the 1371 and every time I have tried to update the bios it always comes back with "No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update" and closes instantly. There is nothing running in the background that I am aware of and I have turned off my anti-virus completely and still got the same error. I don't know if I may have the newest bios or not but I can change my fan speeds and all that good stuff. Any help on this would be fantastic. Also, I'm tring to install the v1.2.

Surely you have a problem with your bios(or related), but surely you solved it, just wait for a response from staff.
I had a similar problem and was only a matter of updating the BIOS (simple procedure), contact the staff! good luck, dude!

No I have tried it with and without it and it made no difference.

It's not that big of a deal whether I can get this to work or not since the stock speeds are 720/1440 and I have full control of the fan speeds. It's just wierd that it doesn't work.

The downloadable update in this thread is only for cards which don't have the update already applied. Your card is already at 720mhz and you have 30-100% range on the fan so no update will be compatible.

Alright, thanks thats kinda what I figured the problem was. It would be nice if it told you that you have the latest installed so that you know you don't need it, instead of it saying that it can't find any display adapters.

Yeah but even if you already have it,the update lets you press Y and overwrite it.He is getting an error message. It lets me overwite my bios everytime.

It never changed clocks at Superclocked and FTW cards, it only changes the fanspeed. The clocks change only with the normal cards from 675/1350Mhz to 720/1440Mhz. So try if you can change fanspeed to less than 40% or more than 70%, because that changes (after update 30-100%).

Hey dude, also got this issue, was using Google Chrome at the time. For some reason I think the eVGA FTP site doesn't like Chrome very much.
Use Firefox or Internet Explorer (vomit) to download the FPB

All the best

I've got a 1GB FTW EE and I can set the fan to 100% but the minimum limit is still 40% - should I be able to get to 30%? I'd definitely like to, it's too loud on idle...

I have a single card set-up with good case cooling - at 40% my card stays around 26 C. I would like to at least see what temps the card was at with 30% fan. Can you set your card at 30%?

40% is the lowest it will go and 100% is the highest
for my particular setup i don't really hear it until greater than 50% fan speed or in other words approaching 70+ degrees
thats a good idle temp
my idle temps for both cards are 10 degrees higher than yours
at load what kinda temps are u getting?

What do you expect after update? With Superclocked the only thing that change is the possibility to change fan speed from 30-100% (like explained on page 1 of this thread). The update it self goes megahypersuper fast, after clicking on "Y" :-) So try if you can change your fan speed and if not, try the update again.

Well it worked, but I guess the only thing it changed for me was fan speeds, since my clock speeds were already factory overclocked anyways. I really dont see the need for 100% fan speed since my gpu never gets over 60c even at full load for hours. Also my fan was already set to 30% before this???? LOL, I did the update then noticed that it only changed clock speed for 2 versions of the card, mine not being one of those 2, but hey thanx anyway EVGA for the update!!!

what is this some kinf of lazy overclock? is it stable and official if so why don't you preload all your cards with this

it is like "factory overclocked" right?

not sure what this is can anyone explain and does it exist for 480 and possibly 580 in the future seems amazing you do an update and then get a performance boost with no cons if so why don't you do it on all your cards?

Most new card are usually shipped out with the new FPB BIOS.

Just check what fanspeed you can set your card to, if you can hit 30% and 100% w/ Precision, then the BIOS is already installed.

People need to read the whole thread rather than just post. This question was asked several times and answered several times.

Re:Free Performance Boost (FPB) for GTX 460 Now Available 2010/11/11 10:22:33 (permalink)
I think the GTX 580 deserves a Free Performance Boost if indeed the fan can go no higher than 85%.  I'd like a Free Performance Boost for the other 400 series cards too that maybe gives you a higher VGPU limitation?  1138 mV sucks.
