I think this is a bad decision.

    This is unfortunate news...

Been a supporter of EVGA since was able to get a TNT 2 AGP card from them over two decades ago since the prices were great.

Where will this take the company now that they are no longer into the GPU market?

Wonder if this is related to the crazy failure rates of the FTW3 early on even though that was a custom board with soldering issues IE not Nvidia's fault. Or maybe somehow its fallout to the chinese nvidia export laws that recently came to be.

Also wonder if they will be doing AMD cards now.

Linus Torvalds moment. nVidia must have acted extremely poorly towards EVGA in order for it to come to this.

I wish you guys and gals the best going forward. There will be a lot of fanboy responses due to EVGA having been an nVidia-exclusive partner for so long but the company would be more than welcomed producing video cards for AMD. Best of luck to all of the employees, and thanks for the years of hard work.

Essentially no one. EVGA was miles above the rest for customer service and ease of warranty for customers in the US.

I’ve done RMAs with Asus and Gigabyte in the past. But their process is terrible and you get almost no communication through the process. You send your part back and wait an unknown amount of time until a replacement shows up, or you get your old part back denied warranty for some ambiguous and nebulous reason.

    lol
    brainwashing is strong

NVIDIA's design was bad, EVGA pushed it too far with too cheap of components, NVIDIA approved the design, and EVGA paid the price until they released a revision.

I dont blame you guys for not working with Nvidia anymore, we all know the stories. But to hear you'll be exiting the gpu market completely is a bummer. I loved you guys and have been a fanboy since 2012 when I got my gtx 570 from you. If you ever reconsider, I'll be there.

Re: Official Message from EVGA Management 2022/09/16 12:53:55 (permalink)
I can see this coming from the recent GPU shortage/scalping/now price slashing fiasco from the past couple years.

EVGA to me, is seen as one of the corporate citizens in the GPU scene. Having policies in place that made sure actual gamers got their hands on GPUs. Making sure step up was used for its intent and not a way for botters for gaurantee cards with GT1030s.

The handling of the GPU shortage and now flood of used GPUs in the market from Nvidia (delaying 40 series to clear their 30s production f*ck up) does not seem to represent what EVGA (to me) wants to portray.

I can see them NOT renewing a contract for 40 series cards but not wasting their investment on AIB GPU, so I expect some AMD cards in the near future from EVGA

I was hoping to get a 40x0 from EVGA when it launches, and probably a 70x0 after a few years, etc ...

    Jacob,
I'm sure you don't have all the answers yet, but can you try to shed some light on the plans for those of us with existing cards and extended warranties?  I personally just bought a Kingpin this last year with a 10 year extended warranty.  For the next couple years, I'm guessing there will be RMA stock but at some point that will run out.  In the past when that happened you would always get the next step/gen up as a replacement.  That wont be available.  Do you have any insight into how things will be handled in the future for that?

I am going to assume EVGA will continue to offer all their other products? (Motherboards, PSUs, KB/M, AIOs, accessories, etc...)?

It is well known how Nvidia craps all over everybody including AIBs. I was wondering when one of them was going to just call it quits and move on and either go AMD or just do everything else besides GPUs.

I would LOVE to see see a Kingpin AMD 7000 or 8000 series in the future.
