I always read on the Steam forums of AMD users having odd random problems. That’s why I left ATI, and their soul lives on with AMD.

I stopped buying EVGA about 8 years ago when I realized the company no longer backed quality and completely lost focus, stopping GPU sales is probably the final nail in EVGA's coffin (tin foil hat, flame protection etc). Sorry to EVGA employees but I don't see you having much of a job without GPU sales. :(

GPUs sales are 75% of their revenues. No way they can survive long term without it.

Wow so people with extended warranty are going to get the short hand of the stick? No next gen, then later down the line no more current gen stock and no options for step-up for next gen.

Once they are out you are SOL. Glad I was not in a rush to get my 3090 TI extended warranty. They would had robbed me for an additional 270 something dollars... Already got me on a few other 30 series cards...

holy crap. and here people thought I was crazy when said the writing on the wall over the last year wasn't good.

Sadly the writing was on the wall as soon as Andrew Han took over the failed businessman with an ego. He has singlehandedly destroyed what his business partner and co-owner built & created. We have seen the slow progression of things slowly go downhill over the years. Even the forums get treated as a liability than an asset they are no longer as busy as they used to be with people who freely spoke with crazy ideas to overclocking they all left and went someplace else as the forums got ran differently under Andrews guidance.

Been a long time, I think the 8800GTS was my first card, and I've had cards from every series since, usually multiple from each series. Really bummed out to see this happen, but after watching GamersNexus video again in full just now, I can understand it somewhat... even though my own selfish desires want EVGA to suck it up and keep moving forward with NVidia, lol.

Steve (GN) is correct in saying that if EVGA wants to get back into the GPU market, it needs to be soon though - 4 years down the line isn't going to cut it. Unfortunately, at this point, EVGA seems pretty adamant that they are done with it, and have no plans for an AMD or Intel GPU partnership.

I've had a couple of AMD cards (way back when it was ATI) but I've never been a big fan, however I'll consider trying an AMD GPU over NVidia in future based on principal, assuming the performance is reasonably competitive. At this point, I see myself sticking with my 3090Ti for maybe a few years at least.

I was unhappy with this announcement from EVGA, but now I'm more p'ed off with NVidia because their actions led to EVGA's decision. I'm sad but at the same time kind of proud EVGA refused to compromise their standards. Jenson can shove his 4090 up his bunghole. Repeatedly, and vigorously. I'm not considering the 4000 series unless NVidia apologize and start working with EVGA instead of disrespecting the value EVGA add to NVidia's product.

This is very disappointing. I have been using EVGA GPUs exclusively for longer than I can recall.

I have been very happy with your products overall. Thank you for great GPU products and support over the years. I look forward to seeing what comes next for EVGA.

Its good to see that they plan to support existing products, but kinda worries me when I have water cooled products with a 10 year warranty. I dont expect the pumps to last that long but will EVGA last that long without GPU revenue?

So you are best informed based on what you read elsewhere, not on your own experience? I've got a 6800XT since launch and have had no big problems with it. Anyway, if you don't like AMD gpus nor drivers you don't have to buy one in case EVGA switches to Radeon (which is pretty likely to happen).

I've had various nvidia and AMD cards for many many years. i do all of the things i mentioned in my post and have tried both AMD and nvidia solutions for both. AMD can't compete in ML/AI or media transcoding, CUDA and NVENC are farrrr superior to anything AMD has. nvidia hands down makes the superior product with the most stable drivers. can't say the same with AMD. their driver support is trash, and it was me who blew the whistle on them not being able to compute FFT correctly causing all kinds of incorrect calculations on certain scientific research. or the fact that they claim to support openCL 2.0 on their hardware, yet the drivers mostly dont support it, and linux support on AMD is a mess for real compute, but most people are none the wiser because they only play fortnite on Windows. so because you had "no big problems" (so you had small problems?) on your gaming rig and a sample size of 1, means no one ever had issues? ok. go read the complaints. the drivers in general are far worse on AMD.

I still have an RX570, that i use for troubleshooting and testing application performance on AMD. but that's about it. i dabbled with some Navi10 cards, but was unimpressed. the only card that's worth anything is the RVII for the FP64 performance, but again most people only focus on games FPS so a metric like that goes largely unnoticed. but half of those have died by now. they had a short run and lots of them even had issues. and they are still plagued by driver issues. getting it to work on modern  linux OSs can be non-trivial

I hope you dont start making peripherals. Your mouse and keyboards have always been complete junk. Shocking ... been here since the original forums and the GeForce 2. Although I currently own 6 evga gpu's  I've always had better performance and reliability with Asus anyways. So no real loss for me. Hope my warranties on my evga products stay valid..

But who else am i supposed to buy a GPU from, the rest of the companies suck, I haven't ventured outside of team EVGA since my 8600GT. I've dealt with ASUS and Gigabytes RMA on their boards, I guess i could go team red, but I buy midrange GPU's and they are hell bent on crippling them with PCIe4x, aka why the RX6600XT and 6500XT are trash GPU's. I mean this is honestly heart breaking, it feels like I'm losing a friend.

Holy ****. Never thought I'd be a brand person and care this much, but I feel filthy thinking about buying any other brand of GPU without EVGA's support. Must really be stuck between a rock and a hard place by NVIDIA if it came to this.

Considering and assuming Gpus probably make up the bulk of their revenue until now, it's probably going to be a real end to era in the future.

Godspeed, EVGA.

I have the same concern as many people.
I have a 3080 XC3 since December 2020, with a 10 year warranty. If in 5 years I have a problem, how will it be handled?

Honestly - I am shook. I Love EVGA products and service. I am truly sad to see you guys exit the GPU market. While I understand the principled decision, because Nvidia is a pompas self loath ****, i understand the decision to part ways. I hope EVGA considers reentering the market with a different partner (Intel or AMD tbh). I think EVGA's products are a cut above all the rest.

I really hope this message gets to NVIDIA and they change their ways, but honestly because they are so self loathing, I am sure they dont care.

I wish everyone at EVGA the best as I'm sure this is huge. THANK YOU for making the best GPUS out there!

If EVGA doesn't want to partner with another brand over a sense of loyalty to NVIDIA. They should weight the relationship with their customers. I have no statistics, but it seems a lot of us would still strongly consider an EVGA Graphics Cards, even if it features a chip from a different partner.

Re: Official Message from EVGA Management 2022/09/16 19:27:20 (permalink)
EVGA cards were very mediocre designs in the 3000 series anyways.  The Strix was comparable or better than the Kingpin and you didn't have to jump through "exclusive" hoops to get one, and it was lower cost.  Or the 3090Ti "Ultra" that was +$300 over the regular card and the exact same silicon.  So they were trending downwards anyways in my opinion.

I'm just pissed that I bought several EVGA gpu's mostly to build "status" for the 4000 series and now that's a waste.  So gee gee EVGA.  You're dead to me.

EVGA talent, experience in making unique cards only handicapped by Nvidia Restrictions. Sounds more hellous than fun over the years with Nvidia. Seems like a waste not to let loose the talented people at EVGA with the Custom division at AMD and not be restrained by the normal AMD GPU standards on price, design etc. In other works using RNDA 31 GPU let say in what EVGA designs at whatever price EVGA wants to sell it for. I don't want a 7900XT, rather a EVGA Kingpin, let loose, wild design pushing it with whatever AMD can provide. EVGA ownership, not unlike Microsoft, Sony or Steam using AMD Designs which are also custom. Top end, untouchable for the generation, high profit margin but really fun and exciting.

Anyways sad news but also hopeful news since now options opened up for EVGA to explore. Long live the Kingpin.

ML wise it'll be interesting to see who we can get for our workstations, as we have a few hundred 2080/3090 EVGA across them, solely because of rma processes. Guess it'll be back to Gigabyte maybe, as much as I hate to say it haha.
At least our GPU servers are all PNY, though not by choice for the A6000, and I guess should have been an indicator that the days of choose your own adventure were approaching the end of the road.

Guess my 3080 from 2020 with a 10 year will be my forever gpu until someone makes as good of an rma process

Such a shame, I love EVGA products and most importantly their GPUs.  When I got my 3080ti I went with the 10 year warranty thinking that EVGA would stay in the business for a long time.  I know they have sufficient 3000 series to handle any warranties for now, but what about in 5-10 years from now?
