I just stepped up from a 1080 ftw to a 1080 ftw 2 icx and I'm looking to upgrade to the 1080ti. I paid 669.99 for the 1080 ftw and another $100 to step up to the 1080 ftw 2 card. Should $769.99 be the the amount I put as price paid on the step up fill in information?

I have a dude with times started STEP UP. The all proces have time limit from your start Step UP to send new gpu to customer? My question is about that one friend said me that STEP UP process have 90 days to send. if not send in this time (90 days) your step up will be automatically cancelled. Is this true?

The cost for price paid for your card will be $679.99. Because of the ICX upgrade program what you originally paid for the 1080ftw doesn't matter. They use the price of the card before the price drops, so in the case of you with the FTW2 it is $679.99 and that is what you should put on the form.

Not true at all. As long as you have started the step-up process and are in the queue you are fine. So you can start it on day 89 and you will still be fine. Just can't start doing it once past the 90 days.

Just paid for my Step Up last night. Will be disassembling the rig either this weekend or next. Little emotional about tearing it apart so soon. HA

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/03/30 08:37:49 (permalink)
I originally bought a 1080 FTW -> 1080FTW2 -> 1080 TI FE. Because no one knew when the TI was going to drop I did the ICX upgrade to buy time. Currently I'm waiting for my TI to get delivered on Monday (East Coast).

I like the idea of the step up but it's just so frustrating to have to play games on integrated graphics for a month while waiting despite buying the "best" card available. I really wish they offered cross shipping of some kind or that the upgraded shipping wasn't so astronomically expensive.

I know what you mean.... I built my PC 6 weeks ago with a 1080.  After 10 days in a queue I've spent the last 10 running on the 7700k integrated graphics.

My Ti is on the brown truck as we speak...  Hope yours shows up soon!

I mean, you could have just waited for the 1080ti, or sold just bought your 1080ti and sold your old card, ect. You had lots of options. EVGA is even practically the only place that does this.

Besides, Amazon and Newegg both offer really good 6 month 1 year financing which gives you time to sell your old card and cut down the overall price.

I'm just saying, I know it sucks, but it is a suck you wholly chose for yourself.

Yep... 1080 SC for $559... $140 to step up to Ti FE.... so I sacrificed a week with integrated graphics.

What was the other option... sell the 1080 for... maybe $400 if I'm lucky and take a $150 loss on a card that was 3 weeks old?

No thanks.  :)

Part of the ICX upgrade was that it extended the step up by another 90 days. At the time there was no indication when the TI would be announced or even made available so I went with it. I'm not blaming anyone for anything, if anyone it would be Nvidia for their NDAs until the announcement.

We are all lucky that we even have any option to upgrade. With any other company you would be out of luck and stuck.

I have a dude with times started STEP UP. The all proces have time limit from your start Step UP to send new gpu to customer? My question is about that one friend said me that STEP UP process have 90 days to send. if not send in this time (90 days) your step up will be automatically cancelled. Is this true?
Thanks!!!!

Not true at all. As long as you have started the step-up process and are in the queue you are fine. So you can start it on day 89 and you will still be fine. Just can't start doing it once past the 90 days.

I'm refer, not the time of 90 days when you buy a GPU. I'm refer whe you start a STEP UP, for example at day 12th, if you start new period with 90 days to be completed step up, if not completed inside this 90 days you lost step up.

EDIT: I read all page and only have 90 to start step. The STEP process don't have limited time to finish.

Thanks

once you get it Queue for step up like the other guy said theres no time limit. As long as you don't cancle you step up and try to restart it if you are out of the 90days since purchase. but you can stay in Queue tell EU eventually gets to there step ups

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/03/30 13:02:34 (permalink)
I recently(2/25/17) purchased a GTX 1080 SC gaming ACX 3.0. i just bought my pc, a month ago. I haven't been on a pc since AOL 3.0, and I've never owned my own. I just spent $2800.00 dollars on tower and monitor and I am playing 4k and not quite getting 60 fps consistent enough. So i asked if I was doing something wrong. And someone suggested that I step up. Well being a PC Noob, I checked it out and ok, this is cool I can get 3 more GB in GDDR5. which will help give me a lil better fps from what I've heard from ppl that tell me. So i called EVGA 2 weeks ago to find out how I go about this. I was told I needed to buy extended warranty(I was past the 14 day window), and upload an invoice with an invoice stating what I paid for my 1080, from an authorized dealer. Well since I'm a complete noob and not very self confident, I decided that since I was goin to invest in a pretty high end pc, for entry level atleast, I didn't wanna chance screwing anything up. Definitely couldnt afford to replace anything. IF it was from me screwing something up. So there's a computer store right down the road from me called Battlegrounds, I went down there and they helped me order everything and put it together. Now EVGA is telling me that because the place that i got it from, wasn't the authorized seller, and that my store bought it from the authorized seller. I wasn't the original owner of MY graphics card. SO I called my computer store and explained the situation. And conveniently he can't get involved, but D & H distributors, (keyword distributor, the act of distributing products to retail stores for sale to the general public) is their authorized dealer. So EVGA is telling me that I'm not eligible for step up, because ME, specifically didn't purchase my card from a wholesale distributor, which I can't. wholesale generally doesn't allow sale to the general public. So I'm being told that I can't step up cause I wanted my rig done right and got it built from a pc retail store that HAS to buy it from a place like D&H Distirbutor's, and they will not sell to regular people. Retail stores only, who then sell to the genaeral public. So in essence, if they sell to a wholesale distributor, then they should have to honor the step up right? why would they have them as as authorized dealer, if the people they sell to(retail stores) aren't eligible for step up. Any store that D & H distibutors sells to should be eligible for step up. Then EVGA says if i get an invoice from D&H, which ain't gonna release the price they pay for the card, and EVGA should ALREADY KNOW, since it's THEIR AUTHORIZED DEALER. I seem to be stuck in a catch 22 and could use some help. i just wanna use the services that are offered to me without getting shafted by the multi million dollar company. In a technicality catch 22. This kinda stuff only happens to me. Once I get this situation figured out, and If they honor their step up program. Can i upgrade from the 1080 SC to the 1080 ti FTW3

its sorta in that you had a prebuilt pc done by a non authorized evga builder. so without the invoice you can't really do step up as the prices do change and evga needs the invoice to show you got it from them with the price  paid for it. best bet for you is if you can convince the store who built it for you to let you have a copy of the invoice. if you see evga's side of this how do they know your place really bought it from B&H without an invoice?

Same boat. When did yours get received? Mine got there yesterday, though at this point I'd keep it in the box anyways as I want to get the hydro kit up and in and done with.

Got my card today! Not too bad. Sent it in Monday around 4 PM and got my 1080 Ti Thursday around 1 PM

Time to test this baby out.

I paid for 1 day air saver in case anyone is wondering. I live in Southern California, so it didn't take too long. Step-up cost me a total of $40 :D

3/27 sent
3/28 received
3/29 shipped out
3/30 received

Possibly, but it might have taken longer for them to ship it out. It was only $7 more for 1 day air compared to the cheapest shipping.

I paid $10 at USPS to ship to eVGA because of weight.

My spring break is almost over, and I haven't had a GPU since Monday.
